100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

@WinglessOne I’m still waiting to try the “elusive-to-me” Lancôme L’Absolu Lacquers. As if I don’t have enough through already. My collection keeps swelling. Right now I’m into minis. That made up a lot of my haul at Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty sale. Maybe I’ll be able to use them all since I can’t seem to finish my larger items. I get bored easily. 😄

I went in yesterday to pick up my ABH Brow Wiz, paid, and practically ran out so I wouldn’t be tempted to buy anything else @WinglessOne !  Lol!

@jozkid  😂 When I walk up the street past the local Ulta that stocks MAC and ColourPop (and Beauty Bakerie, and I think Juvia’s Place, and all the other usual Ulta in-store brands), I have to chant to myself: “Nope, not going in there, keeeep walkin’, no no no NONONONONOnope!” That store’s in very close proximity to Nordstrom, Sephora, a stand-alone MAC store, a TJMaxx and Marshalls around the corner, and whatever’s inside the Nordstrom-anchored mall nowadays (there’s a Winky Lux store in there now). It’s 2 city blocks of pure temptation!

This is the reason I need to stay in a city/town. People here think it’s a city but it’s a town. You can go around in a circle and be done. 🤣 Seriously though, I’d probably never go home until after the stores closed and with the way I go through lipsticks and other makeup I’d probably be homeless. Fortunately the stores I frequent are in the mall and it takes effort for me to go over there. I miss my Sephora peeps. I don’t go to Ulta unless there’s a good sale. The folks there aren’t very helpful or friendly. In fact, most of them look downright miserable. Sorry, Ulta in my town.

@divaknits  The biggest reason I choose to live in this city instead of the burbs is extreme convenience. 🙂 Suburban life was great when I was a little kid (my elementary school was in my subdivision and many of us walked to and from each day), but not so much in my teens. Decades later, I can’t imagine living someplace where I can’t step outside my home and walk to pretty much anything I need, or take a short walk to a public transit stop. 

The downside of that, of course, is having so many stores within easy reach. Besides makeup, I’m also very much into kitchen knives (I like to cook; I have several Japanese high carbon knives; I sharpen ‘em on water stones) and, luckily for my wallet, my favorite knife shops aren’t in Chicago—so I have to order online. If Chef Knives To Go was located in Chicago, I’d be broke. 😄

It looks gorgeous on you! That one looks totally different than I imagined; for some reason I had it in my head that it was a lighter purple, nearly but not quite pastel, and had been on the fence about it. Sold!

Thanks @RGbrown ! ☺️ Can’t wait to see how it looks on you! It surprised me, too, the first time I ever wore it: I also expected something more pastel, which worried me. It’s definitely a richer shade than it seems.

Looonngg day at work over and had the best sunlight earlier to play with pinks.  Oh oh because I thought I didn’t have a lot of those shades and I’ve ordered more.  😁 I didn’t even finish trying them all on before my lips started to swell and I was making a mess.  So I pulled out two liquid lips and 2 lip glosses to go over top the matte colours.  I’m trying to use all my KVD collection before I move on to the next.  I have MAC pinks, NYX, Urban Decay, Stila, Goddess (indie brand/gift), Too Faced and Revlon.  I did a matte lip then topped it with a gloss.  First look is Mother by KVD with Pretty Smart gloss by that indie brand someone gave me.  Second look is Bauhaus by KVD with a ice pearl gloss by same indie brand.  BauhausMotherMother with pretty smartBauhaus with the ice pearl
