100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Day 11: Bite Amuse Bouche in Kale. This is my first Bite lipstick and of course I chose the most not-red/pink/berry shade available. This is also the only green lipstick I own, not counting any of my greener-leaning teals. It’s exactly the color of dinosaur kale and I love it, even though it bleeds around the 2 hour mark. I’ll have to use a primer with it next time to prevent that. But it’s definitely a keeper. 

3 hours and 2 tall coffees of wear. Impressive!

Yesterday was a no-makeup day. But here’s a bonus Wednesday night photo:

I tried on 2 of my old NARS Velvet Matte lip pencils and remembered why I never wear any of them. This is the shade Damned. Like the other Velvet Matte pencils, it’s patchy and requires lots of building up, after which it still look like a faint lip stain on me. And they’re not the most comfy to wear. And no matter how much I build them up, they crack when I smile at all. 



Damned is very similar to Lipstick Queen Cupid’s Bow in Apolllo, but the latter feels and performs much better. Since I’m keeping Apollo, I don’t feel bad about tossing this and all my other Velvets into my declutter box.

 Pat McGrath Apricult: this looks better in picture than irl. I should return it long ago. It is the only PMG luxe trance I own and I don’t like it. 😂

Thx you @MissPuff.  I dont remember what i wore in the first 2 pictures but the blush and bronzer in the last picture was By Terry Sun Design Palette (the first one) and Becca highlighter champagne pop lol 🙂 I try to rotate my makeups.  I need 100 days challenge of everything lol 🙂

I own three MatteTrance lipsticks and they all have a different consistency.  Maybe because two were delivered in 90 degree heat?   They're all beautiful,  but definitely feel different from one another. @blackkitty2014

@curlychiquita My 2 MatteTrances (Flesh 5 and Antidote) also feel a bit different. Flesh 5 applies kinda weird compared to Antidote. Not weird enough to make me dislike it, though. I thought maybe it was just me, but now I feel less crazy. 😄

@WinglessOne, @curlychiquita agree, i bought 2 luxe trance. I returned one immediately. I felt bad so I keep this one (even though I made probably 5 returns ever since I shopped with Sephora (so less than once a year) and I always think I’m weird for thinking luxe trance is more drying than matte trance 😂

@blackkitty2014 A friend of mine won’t wear Bite or Lipstick Queen lipsticks because they’re too drying on her—even though both brands are known for the opposite—so don’t feel too weird about your LuxeTrance dryness. 🙂 Maybe you have the same problem she has: the lipstick goes on creamy but, as it wears throughout the day, it seems to leech moisture out of her lips. I haven’t had that problem with LQ or PMG, and I’m too new to Bite to make a definitive call (but had no issues with my Bite lipstick today). But I can kinda understand how some creamy lipsticks might have that effect on some folks.
