What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? Smiley Very Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

Aww, thank you, miss @DiVWA !

That "pasta" salad is surprisingly delish. I hate zucchinis, but this is really yummy, and I make it quite often.

But, off course, ribs are the best! Smiley Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

Oooh, that zucchini "pasta" salad looks divine!

Re: What's on your plate?

Yesterday's dinner, leftover ribs with cauliflower fried rice and kraut ( whole head cut into bite size ( or so ) pieces ) salad.

Hubby made some grilled pork chops and mushrooms today. Seriously delicious! *insert drooling smiley*

Holy guacamole salad, too. ( Not my fave, but whatever. As long as I can put my paws on those pork chops. Smiley Wink )

Re: What's on your plate?

All of these dishes look super yummy! Did you make the kraut yourself? And the mushrooms and pork chops are calling my name! Smiley Wink

Re: What's on your plate?

Mmm I want some of those mushrooms! And the Salad minus the guac Smiley Very Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

Cauliflower rice? Brilliant!

Re: What's on your plate?

This is my first post even though I cook almost every night from scratch! 'Happy Belly, Happy Hubby'

Finally took photos of my Chicken 'Zoodle' Soup.

Homemade stock simmered with all-fresh ginger, garlic, lemongrass and topped with chili oil, lime juice and coriander for Asian flavor.

Spiralizing 'no-cook' Zoodles. This is only 1 zucchini.

Re: What's on your plate?

That soup looks delicious! I love soup! Was the Inspiralized cookbook helpful for you? I've yet to try spiralizing celery root, apples, etc. but am so psyched after reading that book and copying the helpful table in it.

BTW, spiralized carrots are super tasty under spaghetti sauce--they are very subtle in flavor, just as traditional pasta would be. Spiralized broccoli noodles under spaghetti sauce are also tasty although there's a very slight broccoli taste but not as strong as eating broccoli traditionally prepared. @wheeeee

Re: What's on your plate?

I love soup, too. I find that this Asian flavored broth gives it a lot of flavor without many extras like salt, other spices or long cook time. It is a way for me to eat a lot of cooked veggies in one bowl.

I normally eat 90% RAW but I cook for my hubs who doesn't eat RAW.  I just chop all the veggies/fruits and combine according to my cravings.

The spiralizer is FUN but it is more I guess if you post on social media or need veggie noodles.

I love her book.  I hope to use her ideas more.

I want to try 'carrot-spaghetti-marinara.'

She had this soup with spiralized carrots in her book.

I need more zoodles in my life! They are fun & delicious.

Re: What's on your plate?

Omg this looks amazing!!!!

Re: What's on your plate?

I'm convinced this is my very own personal food diary thread. Just for me, myself and I. Smiley Happy Today I had slow-cooked beef meatballs with a cranberry BBQ sauce. I served it over mashed cauliflower ringed by slivered purple kale.

Re: What's on your plate?

Hopefully I can join you soon, @DiVWA ! So we can share this thread. Whaddya say? Willing to share? Smiley Tongue

Boy that looks yummy! *droolz*

Re: What's on your plate?

Totally looking forward to you re-joining this thread, @lyravega. It's a ghost town around here! Smiley Wink

Re: What's on your plate?

I'm here! My cooking skills are pretty much non existent. I am however a huge lover of food. I like drooling over the foods you all make.

Re: What's on your plate?

Tonight on New Years Eve Eve we had leftover turkey over slivered chard and mashed parsnips with gravy on top.

Re: What's on your plate?

Looks tasty! I love parsnips! They are excellent mashed!

Re: What's on your plate?

Ooo, mashed parsnips????

What's the flavor that they give off, I've gotta admit, I've never had parsnips too often to really recall.

Re: What's on your plate?

@lylysa, they are slightly sweet but not in a cloying way. Much tastier than mashed potatoes.

If you decide to try mashing them, it's best to cut out the hard core from the thicker upper part of the parsnip and to peel the parsnip. Dice it and then steam it in a covered pot over boiling water for about 15 minutes at least; use a fork to make sure the parsnip pieces are pretty soft before taking off the stove and mashing.

Mash with a touch of ghee or butter and then add a tiny amount of milk (dairy or soy or almond are all ok) until you get the creaminess that you want.

Re: What's on your plate?

Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake. Didn't make, not healthy, but omg so delicious.

Re: What's on your plate?

Whoa.

Re: What's on your plate?

Doesn't matter if you didn't make it, don't care that it's not healthy, but will high five you for having a delicious treat! Smiley Tongue

Re: What's on your plate?

*drools*

Re: What's on your plate?

Not meal-related (but still food-related), but this weekend when I was grocery shopping I received quite a compliment.

I happened to be wearing this top from Loft---

I was in getting bananas when one of the workers who was restocking fruits and veggies goes, "That green is very pretty on you! It's beautiful, like fresh produce!" Smiley Very Happy

I got a nice kick out of that!

Re: What's on your plate?

It's a lovely top and a nice gorgeous green. I'm sure you were quite fetching in it! Smiley Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you, DiVWA! When the top came in I was surprised it's almost of a tunic length on me (because I'm short) which I love!
