Some of us here have expressed an interest in a book club, myself, @mermadelove, @LCResz, @ZombieMetroAnt, @Mcakes. If you'd be interested in joining, reply below. My initial thought was to mail the books around but if it means that some people can't participate, then I'm all for dropping that requirement. I'd love this to be a place where we nominate our favorite book and others can read it and comment. Something fun for the new year! ETA: the booklist:

I loved Nancy Drew!!! I remember feeling so mature reading those after graduating from Sweet Valley High books! @Titian06
@heartsmyface I read SVH AFTER I read Nancy Drew..... Does that mean I went backwards??? LOLOLOL!!!!! Also, who else loved Anne of Green Gables and Little House on the Prairie???? And Heidi?> And the Pippi Longstocking books????
@mermadelove - I read the Little House on the Prairie books.
@mermadeloveI decided not to participate in the book club since I read quite a bit but I am fairly picky about which books and authors I like but I noticed your comment about Anne of Green Gables while browsing.I love all the Anne books and the others by L.M Montgomery(A Tangled web is my favorite) and have also read all five volumes of her journals.
@Seymore3 I have not read as much of her as you have! I am very picky about books, too and decided that it was time to expand my range, so joining this BIC book club seemed like a good idea! SO far i Loved the first book!
I'm the same way @mermadelove and @Seymore3. I'm picky about the books I read and thought this would be a good way to expand my horizons.
@Titian06 OMG I once got so scared reading a NAncy Drew but that I couldn't finish it and totally faked the ending in my book report!!! Only time I ever did that- I felt so guilty that I think I should have just finished the book instead! The guilt lasted longer than the fear would have. LOL
I remember being so scared of the Hardy Boys "While The Clock Ticked" that I made my mom put it in the freezer for me. @mermadelove
OMG @Beadshopgirl ! The one that freaked me out was "The Secret of the Old Clock"!! What is it with the clocks?!??! LOLOL
Yeah, I’m nearly done Little Fires. I haven’t started anything else. @mermadelove
@Beadshopgirl Phew!!! Thanks, lovely! I started having palpitations! LOLOL ( not really because I am a fast reader, but I don't have "orient' yet). *runs to borrow from library*
I finished Little Fires Everywhere last night. Darn. Now what? 🙂
@tsavorite- You could always start the next book on the list? Then if you got busy with life or work, you'd have some ahead reading stored up.
Now we will wait for others to finish. Meanwhile I’m reading another book (Come sundown) which isn’t in this list but I had a hold on it and my turn just came up.
Just heads up to all who want to use the library books. You may want to put a hold on these two books now if you want to get them on time. This is my hold position on these books. Given each book is issued for 3 weeks , it will take a long long time to get them.
@fatimamummy- Amazingly, in my one horse town, both are available now. The Hate U Give is available also in eBook form, which I'm excited to try out, I've never had the opportunity before.
Wow that’s amazing @prettyinpa I guess Toronto public library has excessive population load on it. Although they have 100 branches and a good inventory but still for popular books, it takes quite a while to get them.
Ok ladies, I finished the book last night. It was truly a great read. Very well written and the author had a strong grip on story throughout.
Just tag me when you all are done and ready to discuss 🙂
