BIC book club!

Some of us here have expressed an interest in a book club, myself, @mermadelove, @LCResz, @ZombieMetroAnt, @Mcakes. If you'd be interested in joining, reply below. My initial thought was to mail the books around but if it means that some people can't participate, then I'm all for dropping that requirement. I'd love this to be a place where we nominate our favorite book and others can read it and comment. Something fun for the new year!  ETA: the booklist:

that was the only book that I could get quickly from the library so the rest of them are on hold. I'm going to start reading it too

Re: BIC book club!

I thought we were reading "Little Fires"? ARe we reading and discussing both come Feb 2? @prettyinpa

Re: BIC book club!

@mermadelove I finished “Little fires everywhere” about a week ago. Since I do need to read something at night (old habit) and Great Gatsby is available at the moment and might not be available later, so I was referring to read it in advance and hopefully get to the orient train when the group will be reading it.

We are supposed to finish and discuss only “Little fires everywhere “ by Feb 2. I’m sorry for the confusion I may  have caused.

Re: BIC book club!

No worries @fatimamummy! I understand your situation as I have been doing the same since I was 5!!!!  I still remember the first night vividly! Hiding under the covers with a book and a flashlight, having just figured out phonics!!! New worlds were opened.....Image result for book nerd gif

Re: BIC book club!

@mermadelove - I used to do that too with my Nancy Drew books!

Re: BIC book club!

I loved  Nancy Drew!!!   I remember feeling so mature reading those after graduating from Sweet Valley High books!   @Titian06

Re: BIC book club!

@heartsmyface  I read SVH AFTER I read Nancy Drew..... Does that mean I went backwards??? LOLOLOL!!!!!  Also, who else loved Anne of Green Gables and Little House on the Prairie????  And Heidi?> And the Pippi Longstocking books????

Re: BIC book club!

@mermadelove - I read the Little House on the Prairie books.

Re: BIC book club!

@mermadeloveI decided not to participate in the book club since I read quite a bit but I am fairly picky about which books and authors I like but I noticed your comment about Anne of Green Gables while browsing.I love all the Anne books and the others by L.M Montgomery(A Tangled web is my favorite) and have also read all five volumes of her journals.

Re: BIC book club!

@Seymore3  I have not read as much of her as you have! I am very picky about books, too and decided that it was time to expand my range, so joining this BIC book club seemed like a good idea! SO far i Loved the first book!

Re: BIC book club!

I'm the same way @mermadelove and @Seymore3.  I'm picky about the books I read and thought this would be a good way to expand my horizons.

Re: BIC book club!

@Titian06 OMG I once got so scared reading a NAncy Drew but that I couldn't finish it and totally faked the ending in my book report!!! Only time I ever did that- I felt so guilty that I think I should have just finished the book instead! The guilt lasted longer than the fear would have. LOL

Re: BIC book club!

@mermadelove - LOL!

Re: BIC book club!

I remember being so scared of the Hardy Boys "While The Clock Ticked" that I made my mom put it in the freezer for me. @mermadelove

Re: BIC book club!

OMG @Beadshopgirl ! The one that freaked me out was "The Secret of the Old Clock"!! What is it with the clocks?!??! LOLOL

Re: BIC book club!

@mermadelove At least it is a good addiction 🙂

Re: BIC book club!

The BEST! @fatimamummy

Re: BIC book club!

Yeah, I’m nearly done Little Fires. I haven’t started anything else. @mermadelove

Re: BIC book club!

@Beadshopgirl  Phew!!! Thanks, lovely! I started having palpitations! LOLOL ( not really because I am a fast reader, but I don't have "orient' yet). *runs to borrow from library*

Re: BIC book club!

I finished Little Fires Everywhere last night.   Darn.   Now what?   🙂

Re: BIC book club!

@tsavorite-  You could always start the next book on the list?  Then if you got busy with life or work, you'd have some ahead reading stored up.
