Some of us here have expressed an interest in a book club, myself, @mermadelove, @LCResz, @ZombieMetroAnt, @Mcakes. If you'd be interested in joining, reply below. My initial thought was to mail the books around but if it means that some people can't participate, then I'm all for dropping that requirement. I'd love this to be a place where we nominate our favorite book and others can read it and comment. Something fun for the new year! ETA: the booklist:

Lol @SpaceLlama My main source of books is also TPL and this is my placement on holds
@prettyinpa Is it possible that you post the whole list of the books in the order we will be reading. This way we can check the hold positions in library and place hold well ahead of time to get them when we need to read.
In that case may be we have to buy only first few books on the list and the later we can get from library on time?
Haha @fatimamummy! I just checked the library too and both the book and ebook has over 700 person long waitlist!
Ikr @Aaliaa I also checked the regular and large print paper books and the hold situation is same on all.
I didn't realize anyone borrow large print books? @fatimamummy! I always have books on hold, I waited like 6 months for 'A Gentleman in Moscow' and realized that for some reason I checked it out for 1 week instead of 3. The waitlist is so long they wouldn't let me renew it and I had to give it back ๐ฅ unfinished. I finally gave in and just placed an order as the book is great!
Oh my. Hopefully people forget about the book, @fatimamummy! It's ridiculous that there's 110 copies and none are available. I agree that a list would be cool. That way if I order it online, I could receive it in time as well ๐
@SpaceLlama- I'll look in the book sale area of my library, sometimes they have new releases there for a couple of bucks. If they have one, do you want me to pick it up for you?
That would be amazing, @prettyinpa! I saw it on amazon as an ebook for CAD 15$ so if you find it for less, let me know. I'll trade you for some coffee crisps, other treats or simply paypal if you find one ๐ In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for the library ebook. Thanks!
@SpaceLlama I found a listing on EBay it comes to C$5.13 through PayPal. I will let you know when I get the link for ebook. If there is an issue PayPal will refund me.
That seems great, @fatimamummy! Hopefully it works out. ๐
Can't wait to pick up the book and start reading! Thank you @prettyinpa and @skcfan for coordinating our book club!
๐๐๐๐๐ very excited!
Thanks again for starting the thread @prettyinpa
Sounds good to me!
If you haven't voted yet, be sure and do so soon. Tallying is this evening and the winner will be announced soon. So excited!
I just got into reading again, I'm excited to see what you guys read and suggest.
Hi @prettyinpa, is it too late to join? Would love to get some new books recs from fellow readers!
Sent you the link and added you to the list.
I hope itโs not too late for me to join in the fun @prettyinpa! What a great idea!
