Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

Welcome to Year 7 of our Pan It! Challenge ElleElleG_0-1704168084184.gif

ElleElleG_9-1704168647118.jpeg

The "Rules"

To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections.  For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.

Getting Started (please share the following)

  • Which item(s) you would like to work on
  • How long you will work on said item
  • Goal: explore a new item, revisit an old item, decide whether to keep pass or trash, and/or completely finish item, etc.
  • Starting photo of item

Please Use This Thread To...

  • share what item(s) you are working on,
  • provide comparative progress photos of your item(s) monthly (at the beginning of the month when possible),
  • ask questions,
  • encourage others,
  • motivate others with the looks you create with your item(s)

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:

Spoiler
  • Take photos!!  When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes 😃 *this is the number one recommendation for everyone, regardless of how long you’ve been panning! Those photos add up and can help you realize progress you might otherwise overlook.
  • If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
  • Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc.
  • Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
  • Have shadows with a ton of fall out?  Use water
  • Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs.  We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
  • Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.  It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
  • Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!  Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.  Move on to something else!  (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)

Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:

Spoiler
  • Roll the dice: number your items and use a random number generator to pick what you will use each (day/week/month/etc.)
  • Layer/Mask: items you are less fond of under things you like
  • Pan a Look: at the beginning of the week pick a look that you can wear everyday
  • Recreate: a look worn by a fellow BICer, celebrity, etc.
  • Spice up an "everyday" look by adding subtle pops of color (in the crease or on the lower lash line, mix lip products to make shades wearable, etc.)

@blackkitty2014 You have done incredible! And those are gorgeous lip colors. So much pan already!

Thx you @Samtian ❤️

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

Status update as of 3/31 🙂

I made some GREAT progress this month and only have 3 more items to pan so I'm adding my Patrick Ta items starting 4/1.

I've had #PATRICK TA Major Skin Crème Foundation and Finishing Powder Duo and the #PATRICK TA Major Sculpt Crème Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo for a while now and as much as I love them, they've kinda been sitting in my makeup counter as kind of a shrine (such pretty packaging). I am going to start using them again now. I know folks talk about how little amount of product they get but tbh, little goes such a long way that I feel like it's gonna last me forever 😶

Honorable mentions:

In the month of March, I tried the trial EADEM Bare-Skin Confidence Brightening Trio With Niacinamide and Vitamin C and pretty much loved it. As much as I would love to purchase the full size EADEM Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum with Niacinamide and Vitamin C 1 oz/ 30 mL , I am going to wait for the fall sale since I really need to finish up a LOT of my skincare.

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@jaaayp  Oh congratulations 😃

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

Thank you @Cissy63 many more to come!! 🥰

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

Great job @jaaayp!

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

Thank you @faeriegirl 🥰

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@jaaayp  I was eyeing that Eadam set! Good to hear it’s a winner!

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@missjeanie, I don't know what the shipping charges to Canada would be (it says free shipping on all orders, but I'm not sure if that's just US-specific), but right now, that set on the Eadem site - eadem(dot)co - yes, that's right, it's not .com but .co - is just slightly less than 45% off. @jaaayp

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

45% you say….. @itsfi @jaaayp I picked up the full size of the serum and haven’t even cracked into it yet. But the set looks so nice for travel and trying out a few other items. I really should try the serum I have first.

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@missjeanie, I love the serum ♥️ it’s been a game changer for me. Once I finish my mini size, I’ll be on to my 3rd full size bottle.

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@itsfi I'll be breaking it out this month I think!  Someone made way too many purchases at some point and needed to finish off some open bottles to keep things a bit less overwhelming.  This person will likely not learn a lesson here, and be doing panning projects for life to get through open products lol.

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

Lol @missjeanie. This person should not be so hard on herself/himself/themselves. These things happen - with some frequency around here it seems. 😆 Just have to reset. Working on panning projects for life isn’t that bad a thing. There’s good company on the Pan It! - 2024 Challenge thread. 😉

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@itsfi I think I'm  she's pretty adjusted to it at this point.  lol

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

As you she should be, @missjeanie! lol

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

I would try @missjeanie I've seen many folks talking about the EADEM Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum with Niacinamide and Vitamin C 1 oz/ 30 mL being like HG and I decided to pick up a sample size set because I feel like all the popular items are kind of a miss for me! But now I'm kinda sad I didn't get the full size LOL

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@jaaayp, wow, amazing results!! 100% understand wanting to work through what you have. You like the Eadem moisturizer too? That and the Eadem serm 💗 will be ready for you come fall!

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

I do like the EADEM Cloud Cushion Plush Moisturizer with Ceramides + Peptides ! It feels oddly like the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid , doesn't it @itsfi ??? 🤔🤔🤔 I think I go through the cream a lot faster than the serum (my winter skin is so dry 🫠)

Re: Pan It! - 2024 Challenge

@jaaayp, I've never tried the CT moisturizer, but the name of the Eadem moisturizer is pretty accurate - it does have a cushiony feel, of sorts, to it. Yeah, this winter has been colder than past ones (not that our California winters are that cold compare to most other places). Have you tried a face oil for the dryness?
