The April Favorites Thread 2019

Aprils_Favorites.jpg

Another month has passed and May is almost here! It is time for everyone to share their April favorites. We’re so excited to learn about the best hair, skincare, fragrance, and/or makeup products you were using the most during the month April. Whether it is something new, your faithful holygrail product from 2009, or maybe just a favorite you rediscovered, we want to hear all about it 🙂

My April favorite products:

  • NATASHA DENONA - Biba All Neutral Eyeshadow Palette
  • KAJA - Cheeky Stamp Blendable Blush - 02 Saucy
  • GIORGIO ARMANI BEAUTY - Power Fabric High Coverage Stretchable Concealer
  • LAVANILA - Sport Luxe Deodorant
  • SEPHORA COLLECTION - Beauty Magnet Powder Brush

Which products were your April faves? Show & tell!

Using the same makeup but I picked up a new shampoo because I needed one for a trip.  I'm very happy with this new shampoo!:

DRYBAR - Sake Bomb Shampoo

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@curlychiquitaI've been wanting to try their shampoo & conditioner

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

Ooooh, I'll have to look into this one @curlychiquita! ❤️

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@curlychiquita I've never tried anything from Drybar; do you like/use any of the other shampoos from the brand?

@CookieGirl1, this is the first I've tried!

@CookieGirl1, this is the first I've tried!

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@CookieGirl1 I have tried the Drybar southern belle shampoo and I didn’t like it at all. No matter how much I rinsed my hair it felt like there was a waxy residue. I’ve also noticed all the Drybar products I’ve tried have super strong scents.

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@faeriegirl I feel like people either LOVE the Drybar scent or hate it.  I've smelled a couple of the shampoos and wasn't exactly thrilled with it but it always smells a little different in the bottle vs. when you're actually using it.  Nice to hear your opinion, though--I'm sort of on a "shampoo journey" right now and I'm trying to find some new loves :).

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@CookieGirl1 I am also on a shampoo journey to find an amazing volumizing shampoo. I’ve been through so many hopefully I’ll find it soon🤞

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

Let me know if you find one, @faeriegirl!  I have shoulder-length fine hair and it's hard to find products that give me volume without feeling sticky or leaving a weird residue.  Scent is also a deal-breaker for me; it's gotta smell good :).

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

I definitely will @CookieGirl1! Right now I’m trying living proof full shampoo and conditioner and it’s ok but not awesome. I’m going to try Amika’s 3D volume next.

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

Awesome!  Thanks, @faeriegirl :).

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

Here are some products that I've been loving in April:IMG_20190426_140142.jpg

-Smashbox Covershot Palette in Sunlit Yellow has gorgeous pigmented shades. My fave is the yellow shade! Perfect for spring and summer!

-JOUER COSMETICS - Blush Bouquet Dual Blush Palette I actually got this palette in a gratis from Sephora a while ago. It has been my go-to blush for months now since it's so flattering and easy to apply!

-NEST - Verde Rollerball This fragrance reminds me of walking through a forest after it rains. You can definitely smell the greenery. I'm so sad it's not available anymore.

-THE ORDINARY - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5  This serum saved my dry skin after a long winter. It's so affordable too!

-DR. JART+ - Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45  I already talked about this BB Cream in another monthly faves, but I just love it so much that I thought I'd mention it again haha

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

Oh man, your description of that NEST scent made me wanna put it in my cart immediately... and then I finished reading. 😞 I'm so sad I missed out on this, it sounds like it smells so lovely!

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@SpaceLlama, the way you described Nest Verde .... it sounds so lovely!

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

It really is 🙂 I highly recommend smelling it if you find it somewhere, @itsfi !

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

Learned about some new products this month from my Sephora homegirls:

-moving from the hemp seed oil to the HERBIVORE - Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil

-on a quest to reduce my chicken bumps with SKINFIX - Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub

-Also added the GIORGIO ARMANI BEAUTY - Power Fabric High Coverage Stretchable Concealerto my basket after doing a trial earlier this month ❤️

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@LexBT, Herbivore Emerald oil is soooo good! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

My first three favorites come courtesy of the amazing gratis I received:

-SKINFIX - Eczema+ Hand Repair Cream: An absolute game-changer, and the only hand cream I'll need for the foreseeable future

-SEPHORA COLLECTION 12H Intense Ink Brush Tip Liquid Liner 01 Black: Easy application, lasts the entire work day without budging

-Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist 2.53 oz/ 75 mL: I don't notice any skincare benefits from it, but I absolutely love misting it over my makeup. It's especially good at improving the look of my mineral powder foundation. I want to buy another one to keep in my purse all summer!

-It's only been a few days, but my new Hakuhodo eyeshadow brushes have definitely made a difference. The time spent on my eyes has been cut in half because they're so effective.

-HERBIVORE - Lapis Balancing Facial Oil: It's a new essential for my "no-base face" days, which will become more frequent in the summer. I let it sink in, then apply the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 1.7 fl. oz/ 50 mL, which neutralizes my rosacea enough that I feel comfortable leaving the house with nothing else on besides undereye concealer.

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@tastelikewater  Added the hand cream to the cart 😄 😄

Which mineral powder foundation do you use?

Re: The April Favorites Thread 2019

@naturalooks15 I love Omiana! They're Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free, great for my rosacea and sensitivity, mica- and talc-free. They offer sample sizes for $2.99 if you're unsure about your shade. It doesn't completely cover my redness, but I prefer light-medium coverage anyway for everyday wear. Highly recommended!

I seriously have a problem! @tastelikewater I completely...

I seriously have a problem! @tastelikewater I completely forgot I have the glow recipe watermelon mist!! 🤦
