Monthly Favorites: August 2022 Edition!

Happy August, Beauty Insider Community! I hope you’re all soaking up the final rays of summer (though here in San Francisco, our summer is just starting 😜) and putting that SPF to good use. As for me, I’ve been spending the month getting friendly with some brand-new (and in some cases, just new-to-me) products that have become fast favorites! I’ve been giving my claw clip a break and letting my hair down (frizz-free!), testing some hydrating new skincare picks, and channeling fluffy brows and lush lashes. What about you, BIC? Have you been falling back in love with some old favorites, or getting your hands on as much summer newness as possible? Let’s talk August faves!

For my go to makeup recently I’ve been using Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Serum Foundation 5G with Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid as concealer and contour, I love it so much such a natural glowy look but he light with the yummy and little goes a long way which is why I love it so much, and for my hair I’ve been trying to grow it out and love the Moroccanoil Hydrating Conditioner & Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo i love it so much feels so nourishing and not heavy.

@payt02 Thanks for sharing your faves! I've heard a lot of great things about that Kosas concealer! I've been debating between that one and the HUDA BEAUTY #FauxFilter Matte Buildable Coverage Waterproof Concealer, for different reasons. I guess that means I need to buy both!

I’ve been obsessed with the Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Joy and the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Cream Color Drip Lip Cream Fenty Glow for my summer looks, really brings out that summer glow, amazing products from amazing brands created by two amazing icons

@Lauren102705 Those Rare Beauty blushes are so so good. I had a little sample blister packet of Joy and it's beautiful - but I always accidentally over-apply because a teeny tiny amount goes SUCH a long way!

@Lauren102705 I honestly rarely ever wear blush but I've been hearing such amazing things about this liquid blush from pretty much anyone who has used it, that I'm super tempted to try it out! 🙂

My fave hair product this month is K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Mini Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask 0.5 oz/ 15 mL I had highlights in all year and it caught up with my ends. K18 was next level olaplex to my over processesed ends. It's a HG product for me.

My top moisturizer is Glow Recipe Plum Plump Refillable Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer  I have other moisturizers to finish off before I repurchase this one (I'm down to the tiniest bit left 😭) but the glow it gave my day time routine is un matched. 100% love ❤️ 

My favorite serum is a toss up between The INKEY List 15% Vitamin C and EGF Brightening Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL (day time) or The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL  (night time)

Both of these were excellent on my skin, so affordable and really do the job.  My skin looks great when I use these regularly. For the price too they will have a spot of my beauty shelf for a good long while 🙂

My favorite mask right now is

Dr. Jart+ Cryo Rubber™ Masks 0.14 oz/ 4 g Ampoule + 1.41 oz/ 40 g Rubber™ Mask with Soothing Allantoin 

My skin gets quite red and sensitive and this is just a treat to my skin.  So cooling and refreshing, and love how my skin looks afterwards.  I've tried a few new masks this month but this is a clear winner to me.  🏆

@CynthieLu Great favorites! I also have been using K18 but maybe not as dedicated with it as I should. Do you typically just use it on your ends or all over?

That Plum Plump moisturizer is on my radar - glad to hear that you love it! I'm a big fan of the serum as well. Love that it's refillable too 🙂 I'm also waiting to finish a different moisturizer before I purchase, but it's next on my shopping list for sure.

@AlexBT k18 is amazing 🙂 it took me awhile to find the routine for me,  but basically you towel dry your hair,  apply it evenly all over (it's not a conditioner) and let it absorb for 4 minutes. I tried using serums after but it did best for me with my spray in conditioner on my ends after Briogeo Superfoods™ Avocado + Kiwi Moisture Leave-In Conditioner 5.75 oz / 170 mL for added moisture, my hair is quite dry naturally.  I used k18 for 3 weeks now I just use it whenever my hair needs the boost 🙂

@AlexBT I'm curious about the Biossance Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping & Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid + Squalane 1.69 oz / ... because I've honestly never heard of it!  I've aware of The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL serum (and heard that it's awesome) but I may have to look into the one from Biossance.

@CookieGirl1 I like to use it every other night (on the "off" nights when I'm not using retinol) and I definitely feel like I wake up with bouncier skin on the mornings when I use the Biossance!
