Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
@eshoe, was there no scent to the DS Alpyn or just that the rubbery lavender scent from the FS was no longer present?
@itsfi oops, looks like this needs a little clarifying! The DS had only a very slight scent of lavender. The FS, which I recently finished, brought to mind a robust rubber-like, lavender scent. Enough that I stopped my breath for a few seconds while applying. The FS was like that from the very beginning, so I donโt suspect aging to have affected it that much, except for maybe the color๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@eshoe, thanks. I remember the Alpyn products being more heavily fragranced so a "very lightly scent" sounds good. ๐
The DS was a much better experience, @itsfi.
@eshoe thank you for your thoughts on the Alpyn! I find them to be such an interesting brand!
How did you find the peel are compared to the DE babyface?
Oooh that is a toughie, @Kim888. I think DE might act gentler on the skin while also managing to leave it even softer. Of the two, unless you are looking for a heavy duty chemical and physical exfoliating peel, I would opt for the DE. Only because I have forgotten to remove the DE after 15-20 mins and it didnโt result in angry, red skin.
That being said, I do appreciate the fact that the Alpyn is a 5-minute wonder.
Oh wow @eshoe ! Usually I think of the DE as one of the harshest there is so thatโs definitely good to know!!
I do too, @Kim888. The Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacialโข AHA + BHA Mask 1.69 oz/ 50 mL and Peter Thomas Roth FIRMxโข Exfoliating Peel Gel 6.8 oz/ 200 mL are the only two I watch on the clock besides the Alpyn Beauty Wild Huckleberry 8-Acid Polishing Peel Mask 1.7 oz / 50 mL. my skin is not overly sensitive, so this type of reaction in just a few minutes leads me to believe it is pretty potent.
@eshoe Hmm, so strange that the Dearboo mask didn't have lavender or cactus written in the list! Also, interesting because I found a different list online ๐ค
Excellent sleuthing as usual, @Shosh85! I wonder what that is all about. It seems like many boxes show up there ahead of release, but then others are near expiration. I canโt make much sense of the date at the bottom of the package.
Wow, @eshoe ! Such a great, informative review- thanks for doing it!
Youโre welcome, @Ispend2much6, I was very pleased to see the mask behaved the same on my skin regardless of age/product size. Iโve read much about other products performing differently when sold as FS vs. mini (ND palettes, for example), so it was good to know.
@eshoe You're right; that does happen. For me it seems like mini sized mascaras behave better than the full-sized ones.
I have found the same to be true about mascaras, @Ispend2much6. Not sure I will ever purchase another FS!
UPDATE ON THE SHEET MASKS:
Neutrogena Hydrogel Mask: EPIC FAIL! Super watery, fell apart, had a very weird texture, dad said it best: "It feels like putting snot on my face."
Burt's Bee's Hydrating Sheet Mask: WIN! My mom did this one, and her skin looked amazing! (Didn't stick to her face well on the bottom section, though.)
Burt's Bee's Glowing Sheet Mask: WIN! I used this one and LOVED it! Super effective. Just didn't stick very well in the chin/mouth area.
Dad (who was going to use the Hydrogel one) and my sister decided to use the MaryKay ClearProof Mask that you rub on your face and they loved it! We also all used a MaryKay skin moisturizer on our faces, and it was sooooo soft.
Thank you all for your encouragement. Y'all are the GREATEST!
Your dad is hilarious. Love that you made it a family affair.
@elleb810, he definitely is!! Thank you โค๏ธ
Great reviews and great sense of humor @FullCoverageBB ๐
@lmaster, thank you!! โค๏ธ
I loved these reviews! Very informative!
@tsavorite, anytime! ๐ โค๏ธ
