Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
@Mellmars1185 oh well, it was worth trying.
@CookieGirl1 I was disappointed in this one as well, however,,I have had this mask in a one piece lol and it was much better!
It's a shame this one didn't work out, @CookieGirl1. Did the pieces slide around much on your face? That's always a concern for me with hydrogels.
@quspork They actually didn't slide too much; it's just that there was enough material (?) there for two faces, lol.
For this weekโs mask theme of food I offer Pumpkin ๐. And it actually fits in with the letters too. Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. Itโs supposed to resurface skin with a combo of enzymes. It exfoliates with Pumpkin enzyme, peels with alpha hydroxy acid and polishโs with aluminum hydroxy acid.
It says that it is good for dull, aging and congested complexions. This pack has more than enough product to use at least 2 times.
To use you apply a thin layer with wet finger tips. You polish in a circular motion to get the aluminum hydroxide powder in the skin. You should leave it on for 3-7 minutes to allow the AHAโs and enzyme time of work.
This is a pumpkin color grainy product. It has a spicy scent that I really liked. When applying it I felt a slight tingling feeling . I left it on for about 4 minutes. My skin is sensitive and I have rosacea. So I was concerned about leaving it on longer. Using a warm wet wash cloth I removed it. I kept feeling like I had grains on my face . So it took awhile for me to be as gentle as possible removing it.
My skin was looking like it reacts to it. The rosacea was inflamed and other areaโs looked
irritated. It didnโt feel smooth. I applied a brief version of my nighttime skin care regimen.
But the next morning my pores appeared clear and my skin was so soft. The rosacea was calm and the other irritated areas are back to normal. There was a total turnaround from the night before.
I will try it again as there is more product in the pack. But I will leave it on for 3 minutes next time.
โ
I love Peter Thomas Roth masks.
This one smells good.
As always, @Cissy63, your descriptions are insightful and you touch on so many aspects of the mask!
A thought on the redness; I attended a virtual Masterclass last year for a brand I enjoy. They have an enzyme peel mask and the founder shared that the enzymes work to draw the blood to the surface, which is why you might feel some tingling as well as notice redness. It should not hurt, however. Your reaction and how your skin looked/felt in the morning made me think that *maybe* it was the pumpkin doing itโs job. Just a thought, of course. I am happy to hear that things worked out for the best!
@eshoe Thank you for your information. I appreciate it. Yes the next am my skin had a total turnaround! I plan on using it again but leaving it on less time ๐
Thatโs a smart idea, @Cissy63. Enzymes make a little nervous, so I usually leave them on a shorter-than-recommended time as well๐
@Cissy63 The scent sounds appealing!
@Mellmars1185 Thank you. Yes it was!!
@Cissy63 hopefully next time it will be calmer for your skin!
This is one of my favorites, @Cissy63! I'm glad the flare up didn't last too long after removal. It's definitely a powerful mask so I can see where it would be best to build up use slowly.
@quspork Yes thatโs what I am going to do next time.
@Cissy63, this is one of my favorite mask. The results are really lovely.
AHAs can be potent; I think it's a good idea to not leave it on for too long - you could always try leaving it on for just 2 minutes even. It's less than the recommended time, but it may be more gentle on your skin. You would have gotten the benefits of manual exfoliation and some of the chemical exfoliation too, just from when you massage on the product in a circular motion.
@itsfi Your right. I have had both types of exfoliating. Yes I think less time is better
Love that mask @Cissy63 ! And it does smell so yummy
@Kim888 I so enjoyed the scent. ๐
This was my Easter Sunday mask - for the last day of the "open" theme week, I decided to get a jump start on this week's masks that make you hungry, with carrots being the food reference, or in this case, a bunch of Reese's Pieces in a bag shaped to look like a carrot. ๐
