This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!

@itsfi  Urg my no buy mask is keeping me away from seeing all these new flavours! I didn’t even know about the coffee one! Interested in your thoughts on the papaya one too!!! Are you going away for work or vacation?

Ack! Sorry @ather, you did not see these masks! 😆 Nope, nothing to see here! Going away for work; I have a stretch of travel over the next few weeks and also at various times this summer that'll be interesting - it's been a while since I've had that "routine" of gone for 3-4 days, back for 3, gone for 1-2 days, back for a few, then away again for 2-3 days, etc. It'll be fine; I just need to get used to that "routine" again when it comes up. 😬

The eye holes for this mask are heart shaped which I thought was a nice, cute touch. After 20 minutes, you remove the mask and apply step 2, a cream that is found in the top heart of the packet - this is some very creative packaging. I really liked the combination of the essence from the first step and the cream from the second step.

@minathayes, I used this one a while back but remember liking it a lot. The little extra details in this 2-step mask like the heart shaped eye holes and that nourishing cream, are nice touch!

tl;dr: Sandwiched between two very thin netted sheets, this new generation bio-cellulose sheet mask holds a clear, unscented, slightly thicker feeling essence that wraps the skin in hydration and moisture long after the mask is removed, making this one a nice, gentle but effective mask to use after a skin-sensitizing treatment like a chemical peel or dermabrasion, while the high tack factor from the essence makes it ideal for use as a skin prep / makeup primer. Would also make a great choice for in-flight or post-flight masking. Those with dry, very dry or dehydrated skin will love the nourishment from the Seoulista Beauty Super Hydration Instant Facial Sheet Mask all year round while all skin types will benefit from the hydrating and moisturizing effects of this mask in the cold, winter months.

MASK:  Seoulista Beauty Super Hydration Instant Facial Sheet Mask

CLAIM(S):  Hydration

MATERIAL:  Bio-cellulose 

ADHERENCE:  Good, once you're able to get the material to lay flat against skin. I experienced some bunching at the beginning, which isn't something I typically experience with bio-cellulose masks. 

FIT:  The material covering the nasal bridge (between the eyes) is extra wide; other than that, fit is generally pretty good.

ESSENCE:  Noticeable, clear. liquid, has a slightly thicker consistency than I find in most bio-cellulose mask, or even in most regular cotton sheet masks for that matter. With most bio-cellulose masks, the serum is infused in the coconut gel material and I don't really notice the existence of the essence until after I remove the mask and feel a slight dampness to my skin. The essence in this bio-cellulose mask, on the other hand, like many of the newer generation ones, can be seen and felt. 

VISCOSITY:  Medium 

SCENT:  None  

PERFORMANCE: Comfortable wear; skin feels hydrated even as I had the mask on. There's still a good amount of essence remaining after 20 minutes.

TACK / STICKINESS AFTER REMOVAL:  High; surprisingly high, bordered on being what I would consider sticky. Felt ever so slightly tacky even after following up with a moisturizer, though this may be attributed to my skin being less dry than it has been. This could be a good skin prep step before makeup application.

RESULTS:  Skin looked and felt very hydrated and moisturized immediately removing the mask, had a dewiness to it thanks to the excess essence. Hydration and moisture continue to be noticeable the next day. 

BEST SUITED FOR:  those with dry or dehydrated skin year round, or all skin types in the wintertime; or as a makeup primer; or after a treatment that leaves the skin more sensitive, like a facial, chemical peel, dermabrasion or the like.

REPURCHASE?: Probably. I like these newer generation bio-cellulose mask. The high level of tack on this particular one, though, was more than I prefer in any mask, but the results were great. The down sides of this mask are few and I imagine I will repurchase it at some point because I would like to see how this mask performs after a day of flying as well as in the winter months when my skin is both a lot more dry and dehydrated than it was when I used this mask.

@ather, oh my goodness, I was surprised by the results - the tack was higher than I'm used to but wow, my skin did feel hydrated and moisturized. I'm interested to see how it performs as a post-flight mask; seems like it could be good for combatting the dryness that comes from air travel.

Hmmmm, @itsfi - so much about this mask sounds inviting! It does make me wonder how much weather comes into play with the (over) abundance of tackiness on this one.

@eshoe, this was a good first mask from the brand to try. I find that weather and climate factor into how a mask performs. It wasn’t particularly warm though when I used fhis mask and there wasn’t any humidity, so I’m not sure if weather played a significant role with the level of tack. More likely the ingredients and my skin was not as dehydrated or dry as it might otherwise could have been / usually is this time of year.

• These are so dang adorable
• I think they are great in the summer for pinpointing sun burns on shoulders and cheeks
• I used them all over my face and nose
• They helped with extra hydration on those areas
• I can't say that I would prefer this method, but I would definitely use again if they came my way
