Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@missjeanie, Rael sheet masks are available online at Urban Outfitters Canada.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Oh nice @itsfi , I always tend to forget about their beauty selection and it's actually a sizeable one.  I checked last night and I maybe have several of them in my collection already.  total face palm.  need to get through more of this stash clearly.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@missjeanie, youโ€™re doing an incredible job on working through your stash!! ๐Ÿ’– I hear ya on forgetting that UO stocks sheet masks. Thereโ€™s so many more resources for sheet mask these days. Great for us; well, sorta. ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi Thanks... it's been a bit of getting back into the groove, but I know that working through some of my 'boring' masks will help me bring the collection back into a manageable size that I can have fun with.  I found myself perusing the UO website and then had to draw a line with myself and close down the laptop for a hot minute lol

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Nicely done @missjeanie! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Itโ€™ll feel good when your mask collection is at your target level.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi Those are some great looking masks!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Thank you @Samtian! They performed really well too! My skin felt so hydrated and happy after using each of them!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi oh my goodness!! You used some great sounding masks,, I'm very interested in a couple of these as well

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Sheet masks have been a great way for me to get some more hydration @lmaster! It was a good week for my skin. ๐Ÿ˜†

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

This looks like a nice set of masks, @itsfi. I'm definitely curious to try the Rael and Celloine.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@quspork, both of these masks are good. Different from each other but nice for hydration. The Celloine mask is the harder of the two to source. Hoping we see more of those on the market at some point.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

This collage is gorgeous, @itsfi!! A mask called tears that provided hydration is immediately on my to buy list for my dry skin.

...Or maybe not? I can only find at a New Zealand store. I will explore further where to buy. Where did you purchase?

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Thank you @haleyvvvv! Youโ€™re the inspiration for collages. ๐Ÿค— I now include working on a collage (and notes on a mask) as an option for unwinding after a long day or for when I canโ€™t fall back asleep immediately.

Yeah, it looks like sourcing is going to be an obstacle for the Tears mask. ๐Ÿ˜ข Iโ€™m pretty sure I picked up the mask at one of the local shops that carry sheet masks, but I canโ€™t remember which one specifically. It was before covid so I canโ€™t imagine they still stock it. ๐Ÿ˜” When things settle down with my schedule, Iโ€™ll make my rounds to the stores again and see if I can hunt some down, or find more info from them about the mask.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi  Sounds like a great group of masks!
I haven't even got a chance to try out the Rael  mask yet ๐Ÿ˜‚, so it's good to hear you enjoyed it! I liked the BioBelle mask too - I agree this one's a bit better than other "new" ones. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I haven't heard of that Tears mask, but it definitely sounds like one I'd like to try! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

My skin was really happy with this group of masks @Shosh85! ๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™ll be interested in your take on the Rael.  Iโ€™d use any of these again but the Tears and Dr Ceuracle masks were my faves from this bunch. Gotta keep this face happily hydrated!! ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi the Celloine Tears sounds heavenly, especially the comfy gauze. I love the Merbliss, though it is a bit fragranced. Love that this is unscented!

eta: it appears this might be a bit tricky to find, surprise, surprise ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@eshoe, well, at least itโ€™s not discontinued, right?!! ๐Ÿ˜† Probably better that itโ€™s a challenge to find; makes it easier to keep up with my masking schedule and continue with my sheet mask no buy this month.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Hey all you masking gurus what would you recommend for my rather dry โ€œmatureโ€ ๐Ÿ™„ lackluster skin these days? Love any thoughts. Need some glow back!! Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ˜˜.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Sunnysmom, it's not at all uncommon these days for skin to need a boost. My skin is dehydrated-combination (oily T-zone and dry to really dry elsewhere, depending on the weather). I'm a big fan of oils,  Vitamin C, and serums in my skincare routine to help retain moisture and for brightening skin that's gone dull with stress, weather, etc. For masks, here are some that come to mind that I've found to work well for giving the skin a little oomph:

Wash Off Masks:

Farmacy Honey Potion - plumps, hydrates and brightens skin. This one will have a warming effect that makes it a nice treat in the colder months and also lends itself for a bit of a spa-like feel.

Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask - ahhh, this one's luxuriously moisturizing. The instructions call for wiping it off with a tissue but given how pretty the pennies are to purchase this, I use it as an overnight mask.

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask - this is a good one for  soft, bouncy, moisturized and brighter skin. Hmm... don't see this on the site; I wonder if it's been discontinued?

Sleeping / Overnight Masks:

Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask - plumps, moisturizes and brightens skin overnight. Has the traditional Korean hanbang scent that many Sulwhasoo products are known for.

Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask -  it's technically a wash off - or tissue off - mask, but for the price, I leave it on overnight.

Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask - this one has 4 hydrating agents to help plump and seal in moisture and vitamin C to brighten.

Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask - this is a thick overnight cream that I was surprised how much I liked. A good one if your skin is very dry. There's a mini size that's less spendy and a good way to try it out.

Sheet Masks:

Pixi Plump Collagen Boost Youth Infusion Sheet Mask - this contains glycolic acid so if your skincare routine includes regular use of AHAs/BHAs/PHAs or other acids, you'll probably want to adjust usage when you incorporate this into your routine, to avoid over-exfoliation.

Leaders Insolution Aquablend Oil Pocket Mask (Nourishing) - I love this one; it's one of the ones that got me into oils in sheet masks. I find it very nourishing. Includes Italian White Truffle Oil.

Lancome Renergie Lift Lift Multi-Action Ultra Double-Wrapping Cream Face Mask - I really like the creamy serum in this one; it's rich and moisturizing without being unduly heavy. It can be a bit messy to apply though. Worth it and you'll have extra cream to apply to hands, neck, etc.

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Mask - I find this one moisturizes and adds some brightness to my skin. It's Sulwhasoo so it'll have the hanbang (Korean traditional medicinal scent) to it, though it's more subtle compared to other Kbeauty sheet masks with a similar scent.

Dr. Jart V7 Toning Mask - another one with a creamy serum; good for brightening and nourishing skin in the winter months.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi a bit of serendipity yesterday! I got my Allure monthly beauty box which doesnโ€™t always hold stuff I like (yet I still canโ€™t give it up?!๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Thereโ€™s a meme for that). And the Sisley mask was in it! Woohoo! That was one I really wanted to try and thought oh dear, itโ€™s so pricey. So I used it and left it on a long long time. Actually I forgot about it. Lol and so glad I did. My skin has felt so soft and moisturized all day just from one little application. So... baby steps! Now on to some other remedies from you girlies. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you again so much. ๐Ÿค—

( Oh and this monthโ€™s Allure box has UBeauty in it! What!! Maybe best box ever. )

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Sunnysmom, it can be hard to give up the sub boxes. Allure has put out some good ones so I can definitely see not wanting to unsubscribe now. Thatโ€™s awesome that yours included the Sisley mask and a UBeauty product. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜ Happy to hear the Sisley mask gave you good results too. It is a really nice mask. Costco used to carry it online, for a good price too. Or, I should say, for a good price compared to its retail price. Lol. Thereโ€™s a corresponding oil that Iโ€™ve heard good things about too.
