Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

End of last week's gross/ G&T week

Started the day with the Boscia Tsubaki Oil Deep Hydrating mask.  The big takeaway from this mask for me was the scent.  I bought this from Sephora on sale a hot minute ago and now I'm wondering if it was out of date?  The scent wasn't the worst thing I've ever smelled, but it just smelled ... off.  I did still go ahead and use it since my skin was flaky in the morning when I woke up.  This one actually felt really nice since my skin was so tight when I put it on.  This one stayed on for about 30 minutes and I put on moisturizer right away since my skin was so dry to start off with.  No super oily feeling after removal which I was kind of anticipating.  I don't think this one is available anymore but I do remember thinking that I likely wouldn't have paid full price for it and so wanted to try it when it's on sale.  It was nice, but I likely wouldn't seek it out even if I was still around.  That said, I'd use it again even with the funky scent if I had more.
Evening Mask was the Frudia Royal de Snail Green Mask.  Since I had such a flaky morning I figured the snail would be a good move.  I've read that it's meant to be healing.  Please take this with a grain of salt since my 'research' was mostly googling.  That said this was another enjoyable snail moment for me!  I like the other Frudia masks and this one is just as nice.  I have a few more of this (I really need to stop buying 10 packs of anything), and I like that they're masks I don't need to think about.  I'm learning more and more about my masking preferences the last few years and the will end up being filler/non-thinking masks for me.

Beginning of this week

I missed a couple of my two a day masks the beginning of this week so I figured I'd triple up yesterday.  U & F/ quickie week for me lead me to some fruity masks, and a quickie eye patch.
The Annies way Mango Bubble tea mask was as expected.  A lovely fruity pick up in the morning.  My skin has been uber dry and dehydrated and this was a nice little punch to my skincare before my makeup.  I'm pretty sure these have been reviewed a bunch here, so I'll keep it short.  I have more.  I 'll gladly use them.  I won't seek more out, just cause I have so much and always want to try more.
The look at me eye patches are the sticker type and I put them on intending to wear em for a couple minutes while I did a family zoom.  Well the zoom was taking a hot minute for everyone to get set up with wine and snacks so I added in the Pineapple slices.  The pineapple slices while an F mask for fruity (they did smell fruity but not like real pineapple fruity, more like fake fruity?), were actually chosen as a mask for U&F week.  Or... as I've decided to interpret the week... FU week.  This is an FU mask as I just don't get enough serum/skincare from the mask and it seems more like a fun little thing to do rather than actual skincare.  Going forward I likely won't buy more of this style of mask.  That said, show me a fun package and I'll deny ever saying this.  My cousin did get a kick out of the pineapples and it was funny, so I guess it's a win there, but frankly, my skin needs more. The FU masks are basically masks that I don't need in my collection.  I'm going to see how many masks I can loose from my collection this week that I've deemed unworthy.  The FU is probably a bit harsh, but hey... I'm trying to fit a theme here.
Oh... the eye patches.  These ones are the sticker kind and they're lovely.  I grabbed them at Winners and TJ maxx a few times so I'm glad to use more.  They're so much better than the slippery kind.  My under eyes were't transformed magically or anything but they did look good.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@missjeanie  Yeah, I feel your pain with the 10-packs! I've told myself I'm not aloud to buy them unless I know I absolutely love it.

Happy to hear the Annie's Way was decent! I have several packs to get through, and I've  heard the other varieties smell good too so it's nice to know I have that to look forward to. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‹

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

10 packs... I swear they're such a love/hate relationship @Shosh85 lol

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@missjeanie What did we do before we were able to Google a question? Asked someone? Grabbed the dictionary or encyclopedia? Itโ€™s almost impossible to comprehend that kind of world now.

Love those hydrogels, they are so pretty, too!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh @eshoe I remember going through the encyclopedias and the card catalogues at the library to research in elementary and a bit in high school.  Actually I remember even using them in university!  My old lady statement for the day ... "kids these days don't know how easy they have it with google right on their phones". lol

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Nice lineup here!! Love the Annie's way!! @missjeanie

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster  Iโ€™ll keep happily using the Annieโ€™s way for the yummy scents alone! They totally make the experience for me!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah, the no thinking masks are moving up my personal rank @missjeanie. I still want to be cautious of 10 packs but it's great to discover our preferences with all this masking. Great job on your 2 a days!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Right @ShortErica I'm hoping no one takes my 'no thinking masks' as a bad thing.  I see them as an easy option when I look at a totally overwhelming collection where I know I'll be happy.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

G for Gold

Fit?Ok,normal extra in the chin

Smell?roses. I think it stayed the whole time

Consistency?clear, almost gel like but absorbed every thing without tack. No extra in pouch but mask was nicely saturated enough to be able to use on your neck & have some to rub on your hands

Ease of use?no issues

Would I  purchase/try again? I enjoyed this mask. I forgot to look in the mirror last night after removing but looked at it when i woke up & my skin looked good, mattified, like I had a filter on my face but not sure if that was this mask or the new moisturizer I tested. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒน

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Rose and gold @sonnydee sounds like my kind of mask ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee, I like that TCS is creating new masks in their fusion line, as itโ€™s the line I find I consistently like the most from the brand. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ This one sounds good, and it has be curious whether it was the mask or moisturizer (or combination of the two) that left a mattifying effect. ๐Ÿค”

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Hmmmm I curious about the new moisturizer @sonnydee ๐Ÿค”

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Fenty new overnight @eshoe

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Havenโ€™t tried any of her skincare products yet, the gloss though!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee I am always astounded by the number of different variations creme shop has! Glad this one worked well for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

There has been a few- I mean few, like 2, that have been meh....๐Ÿ˜‘ for me @Kim888 but they were not part of the fusion line. Love it! @Shosh85

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee  This one sounds nice! The Fusion line is definitely my favorite from The Creme Shop! ๐ŸŒน

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

An "H" mask from last week, for hydration

Merbliss Intense Hydration mask.jpg

Much has been written on the masking thread about Merbliss Wedding Dress Intense Hydration Mask so I will try to keep this post deep-and-brief. ๐Ÿ™‚ As someone with dehydrated skin year-round, the promise of "intense hydration" is always so attractive. However, since my skin also wavers between combination (oily T-zone, dry-ish elsewhere) to dry, there are times when I need to be more mindful of how much hydration certain parts of my face receive as it may be too much. It's a delicate balancing act. ๐Ÿ˜‰ That being said, while a mask like this is definitely a "go to" for me most days, it is a welcome treat in the cooler months.

In a NutshellMerbliss Wedding Dress Intense Hydration Mask is a light, soft, extra thin and transparent cellulose fiber mask that while leaning on the larger side overall, wears comfortably as it lovingly wraps the face in a gentle embrace, allowing the hydrating and anti-aging/antioxidant properties of the three different forms of hyaluronic acid, peptides and various botanical extracts contained in the clear, slightly runny, thin, watery and subtly floral-scented essence to absorb more deeply, leaving skin instantly (and as claimed, intensely) hydrated, super soft and smooth, with a dewy, fresh-faced glow.
What I Liked: The second-skin feel and performance of this mask, along with the results were excellent. The ingredients list is amazing, too. A very luxurious mask, indeed! โค๏ธ
Area(s) For Improvement: To be nitpicky, added fragrance. It's in the middle of the ingredients list too, or at least, it is on the ingredients list on the back of my mask. I've seen a few online retailers that list the fragrance in this mask as the last ingredient, which is odd given the inci list on the reverse side of the packaging has it a lot higher up. In any event, there's probably not a lot of fragrance volume-wise. Also, I wouldn't mind in the least if this mask (and the aloe one in the collection) were made available as part of a daily sheet mask pack. Or, if the essence / serum were available separately for purchase.
Would I Repurchase?: Absolutely. โค๏ธ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

What a great mask @itsfi , I've often thought about how nice it would be to buy just the serum from some masks.  While I have no business buying a 7 day pack (at least for a few years) I do understand the draw!

BTW.... gorgeous ring!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah @missjeanie, there are quite a few things I have no business buying . . . or even thinking about buying for that matter, so I hear that! ๐Ÿ˜‚ The Merbliss sheet masks are quite nice and they do have some skincare, but I'll be good and not add anything new to the Merbliss goodies I already have. Well, for now, at least. ๐Ÿ˜‰
