Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Something about lemonade draws me in @lmaster! ๐Ÿ‹ It would have been great if they kept the formulation but were able to put it in tube form.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Okay!  I decided to do a pedicure last night and that never happened but I told myself Iโ€™d do one this morning instead.  I got the foot bath down from my closet and ended up cleaning and reorganizing my palettes๐Ÿ˜…  Itโ€™s now 3pm and hot water is in the foot bath.  I stuck my feet in and of course it spilled out all over so I had to clean that up and add some cooler water cause ouch!   Settled in and soaking my feet.
Step 1 - salt soak.  The soak smells like straight up cinnamon and is tinted orange.  I suppose thatโ€™s one of the pumpkin spices so not mad just not what I expected.  It still smells great!  There are no instructions for how long to soak my feet so I am going with 20 minutes cause Iโ€™m enjoying the vibration and massage and I didnโ€™t pull this foot bath out and clean my closet for nothing!
Step 2- sugar scrub- this smells like pure cinnamon as well.  Whereโ€™s the nutmeg and clove?  A quick look at the ingredients says they didnโ€™t bother with anything but pumpkin extract and cinnamal. Is cinnamal another word for  cinnamon? Oh itโ€™s what gives cinnamon itโ€™s scent. And itโ€™s toxic for fish if it gets into the water supply.  Hmmmm.  The scrub feels great and smells great even though it doesnโ€™t smell like pumpkin spice.
Step 3- mud mask-again just smells like cinnamon.  Is this why this product was in a subscription box?  The mask is suuuuuper creamy.  Itโ€™s to be kept on for 3-5 minutes.  Iโ€™m going with 5 cause Iโ€™ve gotta make this process and the cleanup afterward worth it.  The mask doesnโ€™t dry down and is easy to rinse off.
Step 4- massage butter- cinnamon scented massage butter.  Itโ€™s thinner than what I consider massage butter but itโ€™s still thick moisturizing and smells good.  Thereโ€™s more massage butter than you could possibly need for your whole body in a packet so I will smell like cinnamon for a while:D
All in all a good experience.  My feet are happy for the love and smell like cinnamon:). Iโ€™d recommend this but donโ€™t expect pumpkin spice.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

That foot bath looks super relaxing, I'm sorry getting it out though was a bit of a hassle, @heartsmyface!! Glad the mask set seemed to work out, although too bad it didn't smell like pumpkin!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@heartsmyface  Well, it's a bit of a bummer there was no Pumpkin scent, but cinnamon still sounds great and the foot bath just looks SO relaxing! Glad you could pamper yourself a little! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I'll take cinnamon spice!! @heartsmyface looks so relaxing!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

This sounds like a cinnamon-foot heaven, @heartsmyface!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@heartsmyface oooh sounds fun! Is that the one that came in FFF this season?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Kim888   It is!  :D.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Sounds like a treat @heartsmyface. In high school I had a paraffin wax bath that I'd use for my hands and feet. Now I want some type of pampering device again!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica  Ouhhhhh, that sounds divine and also somewhat messy.  How do you clean a parrifin bath?  ๐Ÿง.

exit- Iโ€™m watching how to videos on wax baths!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@heartsmyface As long as the wax was mostly clean, we left it in and it would harden. Then when we would use it again, just reheat. It was the kind that you plugged in and it melted and kept it warm. Once the wax looked gross we would dig out the solid pieces and add new wax. I forget if that was what was instructed or we felt more confident disposing it that way than dumping out warm wax.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica   Okay that doesnโ€™t seem so bad  knowing beeswax is antibacterial.  And cooled off seems a less messy way of doing things.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@heartsmyface  Omg I need to invest in one of those foot baths!!! And the scent of that soak sounds so yummy!! Perfect treat!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ather   Itโ€™s not something I would have ever thought was a good idea to buy.  It was a gift from my hubs around six years ago.  I remember lowkey not thinking Iโ€™d ever use it but it turned out I loved it.  Too bad I went and stashed it on the top shelf of my closet when we moved.  I forgot about it.  Iโ€™m going to store it somewhere a little more accessible ๐Ÿ˜„

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Oooouh, look at you @heartsmyface! I love a good foot soak. ๐Ÿ˜

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  It felt great! My feet are feeling particularily soft right now.  I must do this more often.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@heartsmyface, I used to (try to) do a foot soak every Friday night. I need to get back to that. Just thinking about it makes me feel more relaxed. ๐Ÿฅฐ I shall live vicariously through you until I get myself back into the habit.

the best masks. I mix them with rose water and apple cider vinegar. Does miracles to my pores by the next day.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

P is for Persimmon, which also fits the fall theme and itโ€™s also one of my favorite fall fruits ๐Ÿ˜‰ I've been using these persimmon masks over the last few days.

PersimmonPersimmon

It's still a little early for persimmon season so I improvised with a few things. Voluspa Saijo Persimmon candle was my very first Voluspa candle. I remember picking it up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale about 3, maybe even 4, years ago. I loved it then and I love it now. One of my favorites, though with Voluspa candles, it's probably easier to list the scents I'm less fond of. The dried persimmons were not bad, but I've had better. The persimmon tea was a nice treat once the weather cooled down here; in winter time, I like to add some ginger, cinnamon sticks and honey to my persimmon tea. ๐Ÿต But, now it's time to move onto the sheet masks. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A very light and thin cotton (?) sheet mask beautifully infused with a light, thin, creamy, milky essence that smells clean, fresh and with a slightly spicy bent to it that reminds me a little of ginger. Fit was what I consider standard for masks - an inch too long at chin and minor adjustments required to corners of eyes and mouth holes. Adherence was great.

Claims:Exfoliating, cleansing and refiningPurifying, detoxing, clearing, and calmingBrightening, moisturizing, soothing, and anti-aging
Other Notable Ingredients:Extracts of papaya, apples, propolis, mung beans, and rice; sodium hyaluronate; witch hazel; milk proteins; and galactomyces ferment filtrate.Extracts of peppermint, rose, lemon, fig, houttuynia cordata and eriobotrya Japonica leaf (loquat), and peppermint oilNiacinamide, extracts of anise, centella asiatica, propolis, prunella vulgaris, mugwort, and green tea; sodium hyaluronate, troxerutin, and lavender, orange and coconut oils.
Performance & Results:
The bubbles foam up quickly and there are a lot of them. A lot. Which was fine with me here because of the shape and because I snipped away the part of the mask that covered the nose bridge so there was no bubbling near my eyes. There's plenty of extra essence to apply to the forehead if desired.

Skin looks and feels cleansed, refreshed, brightened, smooth, and, interestingly, slightly moisturized.
My skin felt nourished by the thicker jelly serum in this mask, a plus on a night when my skin had some dry patches to contend with. I left the mask on for 30 minutes but felt like I could have extended it for another 15 without a problem. My pores were in decent shape when I used this mask so I can't really speak to its detoxing claims. That said, my skin looked and felt well moisturized, bouncier and brighter. Nothing to complain about there! Instant (though temporary, as is to be expected) hydrating, plumping, and brightening effects. I think my pores looked smaller too! The serum on this is lovely and I'm happy that there's extra in the packet.
Additional Thoughts:I think I may have found a bubble sheet mask I like. This half mask shape is well suited for my preferences when it comes to this type of mask. Those with oily or very oily skin will need to be extra mindful of the thickness of the serum and may need to make some adjustments. I spy a cream in this line that I may need to look at more closely with the colder season around the corner.
Repurchase?:Probably. I know, this is quite shocking as I am not a fan of bubble sheet masks.Yes; I loved the results from this mask and will definitely use it again when I can put its detoxifying and clarifying claims to the test.Oh yes, I will. "When exactly did I say I would be done with this sheet mask no-buy?!" Hmmm...

Ingredients: Persimmon is often listed as diospyros kaki leaf
