FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

2019-02-play-community-teaser[1].jpg

This month, we are showing your routine a little love and sending you beauty that’s perfect for a day of self-care.

Make sure to mark your calendar—this box will arrive the third week of February. Now let’s mix things up with a hint about what’s coming your way this month.

Your February box will contain at least one of these products:

  • Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks
  • Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask
  • Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Sake

And since love is on the mind, what do you love most about PLAY! by SEPHORA?

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

This is also my second month in a row of not getting the products that were listed. I subscribe to four other beauty boxes and they don’t do this to me. When I emailed last month, they responded with “you need to be logged into you account to see what you’re getting”. One, I was logged in! And two, I was missing products and the products I did receive were completely different! This used to be my fav monthly subscription, but I think I’m going to cancel this one. 😑

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

Second month in a row where my email of items in box is different than what I actually receive. I’m going to stop “getting excited”, as the emails states.

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

Hi @ericaJZ

We are sorry to hear that you did not receive the correct email and we thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are looking into this further.

Best,

Zakiya

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

Thank you for your prompt reply! I hope you guys can get this fixed soon!

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

They should stop sending emails regarding ur box cuz it never the same. U get excited for nothing. What a shame.

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

@Nargiz13,

I am truly sorry to hear about your box! I am going to send you a message shortly.

❤️ Melissa

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

Just subscribed to the play box and was so excited to get my first box until it arrived. The three items I was most looking forward to trying were not included .Instead I got things I can't use like foundation that is much too light for me. Why tell subscribers what to expect if you aren't going to deliver. Few things hurt customer loyalty more than not providing what you say. Off to a disappointing start....

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

Hi @Anonymous,

We promise we're not always like this! Due to a system issue, the January and February box versions shown on the PLAY! website may not have matched the box versions you received in those months. Please rest assured that the box you received was the one selected for you and what was shown on the website was incorrect.

We know that you have several options for your beauty needs and appreciate that you chose Sephora. We can’t wait for you to see what’s inside the March PLAY! box!

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

Please stop with the dark lipstick!  I'm very fair and hate dark makeup on me.  Every club I've ever joined sends me lipstick that gets tossed away.  It becomes a waste of $10/mo.

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

once again I received something almost completely different than it said I was suppose to get! Slightly disappointed because there were several amazing ones I was really excited to get. I was suppose to get rhubarb for my bite beauty color but once again I got a bright red. I wish subscription boxes would stop sending me red.

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

My "See What You Got' email is incorrect too. The screenshot below is what I was supposed to get. The Milk Blur Stick, Rose Face Mask were not included. Lancome Hydra Zen and a Clinique Eye Liner sample were included instead. Not the end of the world but disappointing that it's been the case for the last 3 boxes. I'd prefer not to be emailed at all if it's not accurate. In a little over a year, I've received no less than 7 black eyeliners. My goal in subscribing was to try new products that I might want to buy in full-size but it's not working out that way.

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

The point is that getting an email that's inaccurate is and then being disappointed takes the fun out of it completely. Sephora is clearly having a hard time managing the program and being assured I got the package that was intended for me doesn't change the experience. Candidly, it has started to turn me off of shopping with you at all. If it's not straight this month I'm jumping ship. I don't 'need' a Play Subscription.

I got the same substitutes. Caudalie almost empty, yet ANOTHER black eyeliner, and the same Kat Von D Saint/Sinner perfume samples I've received before. I am also getting fed up with the lower quality samples and promises not kept. May be time to say "au revoir".

Re: I got the same substitutes. Caudalie almost empty, yet AN...

Thanks for the warning. I was considering signing up. Nothing more irritating then getting dupes because they “ran out” I mean it’s Sephora!! They have access to every sample in the world! I won’t name the box I’m an already subscriber but considering unsubscribing for the same reason, half filled samples or dried out because they are old. It was different when I first signed up, and I was introduced to several products I went on to buy full size of.

RE: Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

Looks like we were supposed to get the same box. I got nowhere near what I was supposed to get. SMDH

RE: Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

I have the same problem, it’s at least the third time it’s happened. I received the same email as you but got the box you described. I was looking forward to the one we were supposed to receive.

Re: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

The same thing happened to me.  I only received two of the items shown in my box, the rest is Clinique.  What irks me the most is when I bring it up to Customer Service and they really don't seem to care what I did or didn't get and really don't make any effort to fix their mistake.

RE: FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK!

What happened here? Will someone at Sephora Play come out and say “oops sorry we messed up royally in the past couple months” I’m guessing we are just going to play the nothing is going on card? I understand this is a sample box. I don’t expect full size products/makeup for only $10/month. I don’t even mind waiting 3 weeks from when you charge my card to actually receive the box. (I still don’t understand that one, my goodness, I can get wine from amazon in under two hours or grocery’s from Kroger delivered in 6 hours, I digress) What I don’t understand and completely do mind is receiving an item and being told it is full size and it’s clearly a lie. The Full Size Clinique Intense quickliner eyeliner is .28grams and the one in the Sephora Play box is half the size at .14grams. Please don’t lie to your customers. Companies that lie to customers, die to customers. I do mind being told I would receive 6 specific samples via email to only find out that I would actually only be receiving 1 of those samples you told me all about and 5 different ones. I think the Milk Blur was the most disappointing to not receive. I watched the videos and tutorials and read up on it and got so excited in advance. Open my box, no Milk Blur.... I do mind receiving 2 cheap samples that the Clinique makeup counters give out for FREE anytime you ask. Don’t believe me? Do it, go the the Clinique counter and ask for a sample of moisturizer and an eyeliner sample. They will hand you both. I did it this afternoon just to make sure they still do it and guess what, I have duplicates now if them. I do mind receiving TWO moisturizers in one box. I was really looking forward to trying the Fresh Rose face Mask but instead get to lather on a second moisturizer. If you need to change, send a different product, an eye cream or a lip scrub or something. You guys are Sephora, you should have everything. I do mind being sent a Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume that once again, I can walk into any Macy’s perfume counter and get for FREE. This seems to be a recurring issue. I ordered a $128 bottle of Maison Margiela Replica at Christmas time and a week after it was supposed to arrive Sephora cancelled my order and said sorry we ran out. Then last month one of my samples on my $75 online order was another Maison Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning sample and instead I received a Marc Jacobs Sample. Enough with the Marc Jacobs Daisy Vomit perfume samples. Marc Jacobs Daisy is not a replacement for Stella McCartney Stella. Come on why is MJDaisy a Sephora back up plan? I do mind being told I will be getting the plum rose color Rhubarb and opening the tube to find a super bright, no plum in sight Firey Red Maple lipstick. I left Birchbox after 2 years because they started duplicating month after month or started sending junk. The allure of these boxes is for women to be able to try the expensive/intimidating/unusual products they might not have before, fall in love with them and then buy the full size right? The Macy’s makeup counter freebies is not something most women want to pay for even if it is only $10. Get back to what the Sephora Play box is known for and do these boxes the right way.
