I especially like mystery bottles/boxes/bags of anything that are all brand new shades/styles/flavors/etc. That way, I’m guaranteed not to get any repeats, and it makes the experience more fun for me. I say this despite having bought a few Beautylish Lucky Bags, though I think I’ve only ever gotten one repeat item in them.

@WinglessOne, oooh, I saw that Beautometry had some Phoenix polishes up but completely missed the mystery bag offer … until now, that is! Thank you! And the People of Color mystery bag - a couple orders I placed (through a third party retailer) were canceled because they ran out so I’ll check out their mystery bag as well (so much for that no buy on polishes 😆).

If you buy any People of Color mystery bottles, I hope you get at least one of the shades you were after. Of the three I got, my repeat shade was Abuela. I also got what I think is a variation of Comida Frita, Hecho Con Amor (aka “that corn tortilla polish” I already have); looks like it’s mixed with more green shimmer and maybe more black specks. The new-to-me shade is Walk of Fame. And I can’t wait to see what you get in your Phoenix mystery bag!

(I do also know how deeply uncomfortable it can be to post something that isn't up to whatever basic limit you've set...I've skipped posting various makeup looks over the years for various reasons, none of which anyone here would ever point out, but we are our own worst critics, yes? Heh, if perfection was ever a requirement, I’d have been booted from this thread long ago. 😂 But yeah, for a long while I couldn’t come to this thread without lamenting my inability to paint my nails yet, and letting the lamentation twist into anxiety spiral. Sometimes it’s best for me to step back (from various activities) and then return after some healing.

Plus, taking a break from polish has given my nails time to grow out all the blue staining from my last mani and soak up plenty of oil, so they’re in better shape than they were pre-[all the badness]. I’m just waiting for the skin around my nails to heal enough to handle cuticle remover and acetone again. Removing all that sticky cuticle from each nail plate will be quite an undertaking. 😅

@WinglessOne - I am sorry to hear of your loss.  I had a severe anxiety attack last month and have not gotten it under control yet.  I feel for you!

Thanks for the info on the mystery bags!  Recently I bought some "mystery polishes" rather than bags.  I think Color Club was one.  It was similar:  past, retiring, over pours.

I don’t often do mystery bags/boxes/bottles of polish, but I’ve been very tempted many times. I still haven’t tried anything from Color Club… that’s a mystery offer I should’ve done as a brand intro. Hope you enjoy your mystery bottles!

I'm very happy to hear your feeling more in control of your nail bitting atm. Anxiety is scary and powerful 🩵💙 fighting a battle with my own brain all day sounds terrifying and exhausting, I hope you give yourself enough credit for the days you make it through. Celebrate those wins I think, it's not easy and look at you go 💖

Anxiety is a sneaky beast: I can be doing well and enjoying my day when I’m suddenly ambushed by a memory of that one time in 1987 I said [innocuous comment] to a friend and what if they were offended by it because [my brain twisting it into the worst thing I could’ve said] and it ruined their day and see I ruin everything. Gotta love those random what-if attacks. 🤦‍♀️ It helps to learn techniques to prevent full blown anxiety attacks, though they’re not always avoidable. If I get through a day with just a few minor what-ifs I was able to talk myself down from, then that’s a good day. 🙂

As part of @JoSometimes's monthly manicure challenge, I was inspired to do "Day at the Beach". I originally planned on doing bright blues and sand but apparently there's a "severe storm" coming this way on the west coast? So gloomy day at the beach it is 🙃

My nails are getting to the point where the length is not cute anymore. Personally, I don't like this shape, this long so stayed tuned for the next shape/length! Hehe 🥰
