Did you have a base coat or top coat with it? I wonder if it really needs to be paired with one of the Step 1 polishes to cure together and not just dry. Thanks for experimenting! #shimmerforscience

Thank you @JoSometimes. It is real petty and it dried down well between layers.

I've been using my China Glaze top coat as a base coat because I didn't bring one with me 😅 that could definitely be playing a huge part in this.  I'm sure hours of swimming are not helpful either. (Nothing survives a couple of beach trips from my experience.) I'm OK with it, lots of excuses to do my nails 💅 🙃

Went to a concert last night so I decided to use these three shades. The silver is so stunning but it chips faster than I can blink. 2-3 coats each...and recoats of the X ones the next day.

Fantastic mix, I love all of these and they look fabulous together!

The prevailing advice for nails is "find your best base and topcoats, and after that, the polish in between is fairly insignificant", and while I firmly believe that to be true, I also know there are exceptions. For me, it was most every Formula X polish I tried...within a day or two, they'd start chipping or cracking, regardless of what base or top I used. 😞 That said though, chrome type metallics do tend to be thin and brittle, I guess it's got something to do with the pigment used and/or formula limitations that come with chrome. OPI even had a chrome polish at one point called Push and Shove that was explicitly marketed as one night only, since that's about how long it's gonna last 😅

It’s really too bad about the longevity (or lack thereof) on that silver polish because it is absolutely STUNNING! 😍😍😍
