Mystery bag from Cirque, 3 polishes for $15

I think I can safely skip this one...Cirque has enough stuff I'm not interested in that I think I might be easily disappointed. Not sure they've ever done a mystery bag before, so I'm not really sure what to expect. I am super curious to see what anyone gets though, if you go for it!

Yeah they can! I much prefer something like Black Dahlia, where they allow you to at least make some notes about what shades you like. This is a really good deal for Cirque polish, but only if you like what you get, and the uncertainty kills me 😕

@RGbrown, that sounds like a good deal. I have 3 polishes from Cirque Colors, one that @SAlyFitz recommended and I like it, but I'll pass on this one; probably going to pick up a couple of colors from PPU instead.

Ohhh, the shift on that Night Owl polish looks great @RGbrown! 🤩 I’m eyeing the one from Painted Polish and maybe the yellow polish. I’m decluttering a yellow and am wondering if that should be its replacement. Will also pick up a Glisten & Glow top coat as a gift.

I've got two from the brand that I picked up on clearance at J.Crew of all places many years ago. It has been ages since I used either, but I do recall both were lovely colors, and I don't remember them being particularly fussy in any way. They've got a teeny tiny skinny brush that I could do without, which slides them down my list of must-have brands, but I'd pick up more if I found shades I liked at a nice discount. Overall, at $15 for 3, it's a nice value if you are fairly certain you'll be pleased with whatever colors you get!

Jumping ahead to some of my newest stuff, here are my picks from the China Glaze spring collection, Mystic Bloom! I have to say, CG is my favorite mainstream brand for stuff that's a little different from the usual...I think they do a pretty decent job of bridging the difference between mainstream and indies, having a little more fun with their ingredients, coming up with stuff that's way more unique than houses like OPI, Essie, and MT (y'all know I love MT, but they are very cream heavy lately, and while I think they do creams exceptionally well, that's just not my usual jam). I think CG knocked this collection out of the park, and I'm not disappointed with a single one! There were zero swatches available when I ordered, and choosing based just on the one bottle shot and vague descriptions everyone had at the time was a bit risky, but with CG, it's usually worth it, and it definitely worked out well. I love all of these!

From pinky to thumb:

Planted & Enchanted

Bright spring green that, while not a true duochrome, had some sky blue shimmer that gives off a lovely sheen in the right light. Easy two coater.

Secret Rendez-blue

Surprisingly sheer, this took three coats to build up as far as I got it, and could almost use a fourth for a little more nail line coverage. Very sheer teal base loaded with teal microflakies and a pinch of purple shimmer/shift as well. It's pulling green towards my tip, but I think that's just the blue mixing with my yellow staining (sigh), but at least it's a pretty green lol. As sheer as it is, this would make an excellent topper as well; whenever I use it again, it'll definitely have some sort of base under it.

Fairytale Bliss

Bright pink, slightly salmony, filled with brighter microflakies, hot pink and gold maybe? I definitely catch a hint of a gold shift here and there, and the pink really sparkles in the sun. Three coats for opacity, but not fussy. 

Bloomphoria

I don't usually go for pale and sheer, but hot dang y'all, this is a surprise hit for me, perhaps even my favorite. It's a very frosty, very pale purple absolutely stuffed with a glowing lime green shimmer that can pull more gold at times, and also shifts to a deep rose at extreme angles. Bee's Knees does this genre so well, the contrasting shimmer and shifts that just positively glow, and CG did an excellent job mimicking that effect here. Three coats for opacity, but they were easy, and while I can see my nail line in some lights, the polish is so distracting that I really don't care 😋

Bloominescence

Gorgeous bright grape loaded with purple, pink, and blue microflakies. Matte formula, but it wasn't terribly fussy, thankfully. It took me three coats, but I went extra thin on my layers, thinner than I normally do, and that third coat was really more about just catching a couple of thin spots around the edges...you could probably get by with two coats if you're careful. 

Full sun...all the sparkle!

Indirect light...peep some of those shifts! 😍 You can see the blue in the glare lines on the green, purple on the teal, gold on the pink, both green and gold on the pale purple, and a hint of pink on the deeper purple.
