Playing with my first Holo Tacos today 💿🌮

I picked both of these up in a private sale, so I can't really speak about condition straight from the manufacturer, but I have heard that HT formulas tend to be thick, and well, both of these were and needed some thinner for a smoother application. In and of itself, that's not a deal breaker for me, but the tiny skinny brush is a travesty as well. They are both gorgeous polishes, so the end result was worth it, but being the deal hunter that I am, the lack of sales and deals means this isn't a brand I'm actively pursuing anyways. There are two more I'd like to pick up at some point, but they were LE and collector's prices are insane, so I'm ok if I never get my hands on them.

Right hand, HT Rainbow Flood

A lovely deep purple holo with a really strong rainbow in direct sun. Could have been a one coater if it hadn't been a little thick/lumpy with the first coat (but I never stop at one anyways, and thinner smoothed out the formula for a smoother second coat).

Full sun, wow, I'll give Cristine credit, that's a nice bright rainbow

Left hand, HT Existential Crisis

IMHO, the most unique polish HT has ever released, and if they ever continue down this more interesting path, I may be changing my view of the brand and picking up more in the future! It appears to be a navy blue jelly in the bottle, packed to the brim with red/gold/green shifting shimmer and holo flakies/glitter. Completely smooth after one coat of top coat. Two coats got me mostly full coverage...I can still see a couple of thinner spots if I scrutinize my nails in full sun, but there's so much sparkle packed in here that literally no one else would ever be able to notice it.

The gold/green shift is harder to pick up, but it's lovely when it shows!

@RGbrown  Hmm, Existential Crisis definitely makes me rethink my "nope, Holo Taco's off my radar" stance. I've avoided the brand mostly because of the brush + too-thick (according to many reviews) formula. But that particular shade is very interesting! Might have to keep an eye on the brand now.

Yeeesss, I definitely wish HT would follow this up with more of the same...unique mixtures and fun, offbeat pairings of ingredients that aren't basic, boring polishes. Sadly, so far this one seems to be a one-off though...after this came more glitters (they're pretty and all, but they aren't unique enough for me to chase them), more creams, and some shimmer toppers. 

HT has gone the Zoya route and sells wide brushes now too ($10/6pk 🙄), but I've also read that the Glisten & Glow wide brushes fit, and at $0.25, they are a much cheaper option.

That shift @RGbrown! Gorgeous!! 💚 The thicker formula doesn’t sound great (but hey, that’s what thinner is for, right?!! Right!!) but that color and shift are really pretty! 😍

It's gorgeous! I'd love to see Cristine start putting out more interesting polishes like this...she's spent the last couple of years building some nice basics, but I know for me, I've got all that stuff already. It's time for her to have some fun with all sorts of great mixes!

Thanks so much! At first, I wasn't sure I'd be able to capture the green, it was shy in all of the spots I normally take pics, but I wound up noticing it while I was doing something else and thankfully was able to capture it 💚
