The Fit, The Fab and The Face: Outfit and Inspo Thread What are you wearing today Pt2
Week 48 (November 18-24): Let's get "Pop"ular - Wicked movie/musical week.
Create a look with anything from a collab with the movie/musical Wicked, use anything from any Wicked Collaboration (One/Size, R.E.M., Opi, etc) " or anything that inspires you, particularly accenting pink, gold or green.
Week 49 (November 25-Dec 1): Fairytale makeup - Part 1 - Cast of Characters. This is any fairytale makeup magic your heart desires from your favorite sidekick/supporting character. Doesn't need be a cosplay level look, whether it's using a cool color shifting liner or working a full fairy godmother look, let your makeup be inspired by the ones who always had the hero/heroine's back.
Week 50 (December 2-8th): Part 2 -The Princess Edit - give me your best Disney Princess/Prince blush look. Are we going snow white rouge, or snatched Cinderella??
Week 51 (December 9-Dec 15): Part 3 - Very Villainous. Not at all demure.
Let's be honest, Ursula, Maleficent, the evil queen....all slayed the makeup game, and then subsequently slained. Well, what are heroics without the calamity of a counterpart? Bring out your inner baddie this week.
Week 52 (Dec 16-22): Wickedly Wintry: If it's in the title (the lion, the witch and the wardrobe), why not pay homage to it? Using elements of ice and frost, give me your best Ice Queen look aka white witch from Narnia. Silvery, sparkly highlights welcome. If that's too frosty forward, any element of silver or white within your look can play to this theme.
Week 52 (again) (Dec 23-29): Belle of the Ball - Give me Glitz! Glam! All the glitter! Feel free to use any holiday release, like the Dior or Nars collections.
2025 Week 1 (Dec 30-Jan 5) Pixie Power! I want to see spritely cheeks, there needs to be a gold or glow involved. Tinkerbell time!
Week 2 (Jan 6-12): Frosty Foliage: Give me that sunset blush look, but make it frosty...plum, berries, holographic shimmer. (Not quite foliage, but I was going for the callback and alliteration.)
Completed 2024 Weekly Challenges:
💗💗❤️❤️💗💗💗
Year 3:
Week 1-2 (Break)
Jan 14-20: Cherry Cola/Cherry Cocktail Lips + Cheeks. Think ombre lips and burgundy or deep red looks.
Jan 21-27: Hot Toddy Week. Think bright and sultry, go for golds and honey or amber colors.
Jan 28-Feb 3: Espresso Martini\Martini Week. This is the martini look - green and shimmer, but you could also add a deep lip to it or go for brown or plum version.
Feb 3-10: Maiden's Blush or Cosmopolitan Week This is the one that started it - Maiden's Blush, by RMS beauty. It's coral, shimmery and warm.
Feb 11-17: Red Wine & Hot Chocolate - If you do partake in alcohol, try this it's delicious. The look speaks to red and brown, but again, you choose.
Feb 18-24: Pink Blush /Blush Wine - Essentially, this is a pink look, but pinks have all sorts of tones, so have fun playing with this, whether it's all pink or a pop of pink.Week 10 (Feb 24- March 2): Lunar/ Chinese New Year Looks - This is a little late but the 24th was the lantern festival, so I think we can still celebrate this week!

(***I made the executive decision to extend this one more week since orders are still coming in!)

Week 21 (May 21-27): Barbiecore! I was actually never a fan of dolls or Barbies as a kid, and the flood of Barbie on Instagram recently was kind of annoying to me, but I also have a soft spot for pink and Barbie, so I thought I’d add to the challenge. Can be anything from subtle to all out Barbie.
Week 22 (May 28-June 3): Social Media Inspired! Recreate a look and/or create your own look inspired by an influencer you love, or use makeup to recreate a filter. Post a side by side to share with us.

Week 24 (June 11-17): Earth Week! Highlight more sustainable or green makeup brands. Or even just a play on blue, green, or even earthy tones to celebrate the earth. This is a little out of order but summer is a great time to connect with and celebrate the earth! (Suggested by @josometimes)
Week 25 (June 18-24): Summer Solstice! Create a look based on whatever makes you think of summer, maybe a sunny look, bronzed beauty, or zodiac inspired look.
Week 26 (June 25-July 1): Celebrate Pride! I know pride events vary widely by cities, so if you happen to do a pride look in another week, feel free to post anytime!

Week 40 (Sept 22-28): SEPHORiA!!! I know not everyone can attend AND there’s no virtual component this year, but share what you would wear or if you’d plan to feature any artist/line specifically in your actual or theoretical SEPHORiA looks.

So, I could definitely (still) use some makeup inspiration these days and maybe you could too! Several years ago, we used to have some weekly makeup challenge threads, so I’m bringing one back. It’s a great way to spark some creativity and maybe most importantly, a great way to shop your stash!
I started with a list of some challenges below, but also happy to edit/rearrange/consider other ideas along the way. I hope you will join me! Feel free to post as many or as few times you’d like each week with photos of your looks. If you don’t like to post your face, feel free to do a flatlay of the products you used to do your look. Also, if you get behind or ahead, feel free to post pics whenever you have time.
Can’t wait to see all your looks! Have fun! Please feel free to suggest some other challenge ideas in the thread and we’ll add to the coming weeks!!
💕💗💕💗💕
It does have a very light, citrusy scent! I just used the Gelat-ohh creamy matte color all over, then added When in Rome pink shade to crease/above crease and outer corner, then a little bit of brown on upper lash line, and finally Lake Como (blue sparkle) on inner corner and center of lids. Have you used it yet? That was my first time using it! @Mellmars1185
@sister13 You inspired me to try it out. I used the ND palette today as a highlighter ✨️
For the repurposing makeup challenge, I did two things for this look.
One was out of necessity. I wanted to do a brown eyeliner look. When I went into my stash, the lid to my brown eyeliner had somehow popped off and dried up. I could get some product out, but I had to really press hard. 😢 I used my black eyeliner on my upper lash line but set it with brown eyeshadow. For my lower lash line, I used my brow pencil. It wasn’t creamy enough and dragged and skipped, so it took a bit of patience to get it done.
The second is something I actually do regularly. I used a cheap peachy-orange matte lipstick to colour correct my beard shadow. When I first started makeup, I couldn’t find a cheap peach-orange concealer. I saw some tutorials from the drag and trans communities mention that a creamy matte lipstick could work. I adopted the trick and I’ve been using it since.
The rest of the look is from my usual staples with the exception of my eyeshadow. It was an impulse buy at the local asian supermarket. The colours are subtle but shimmery.
@JoSometimes I would never think you had color corrected as you described. You did a marvelous job! That’s a shame about your brown eyeliner. But you really w irked it ou t with other products. Oh and I really like your dress (or top). Wonderful color for spring🌸🌸
Thank you @Cissy63! I usually colour correction, set with a tinted powder to neutralize the redness, then apply foundation on top. It’s a bit unorthodox and felt kinda silly at first, but it works well! And I love this new dress. Found it a thrift store and I couldn’t say no to it. I just need it to warm up a little more so I can wear it out. 😊
@JoSometimes You look beautiful. Great colour correction information!
Thank you @Mellmars1185! I’m glad I was able to share it with everyone. 😊
Wow that's a cool way of color correcting!! Great job @JoSometimes
Thanks @lmaster! It was a really helpful hack. I hope it can help other when they’re in a pinch and need some colour correcting.
Wow, if you hadn't said you did the colour correction, I'd never have noticed. It's very effective and seemless in your make up looks @JoSometimes that's awesome! Thank you for sharing how it all works 💖
Thanks @CynthieLu! I can tell when I haven’t used some kind of colour correction, so I usually have to do it under my foundation. It might be in my head though, since we’re our own worst critics.
This hack could easily be adopted for dark circles or hyperpigmentation. Or use other colours for other concerns.
You look wonderful as always, @JoSometimes ! I love the lipstick hack; thanks for sharing. 💋💄 I'll keep that in mind if I run out of my yellow color corrector. I have a light beige lipstick with a yellow undertone that might work. 🤔
Thanks @Titian06! Give it a try next time you’re in a pinch. If it doesn’t work for you, you can always just wipe it off.
Great job repurposing, even though you wish your brown eyeliner was still fresh and new! Thanks for sharing the tip about color correction, that orangey peach can definitely help cover and correct blue/black tones! I love your pink dress/top and glossy lip. You look radiant and happy - happy Sunday to you!! @JoSometimes
Thank you @sister13! I picked the dress the other day and decided to try it on quickly with my makeup. It was a thrift store find. 😊
And I’m glad you included this challenge and I was able to share the lipstick hack. Peachy-orange could also be useful for anyone with hyperpigmentation from scarring or dark circles.
Today I used the MAKEUP BY MARIO SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer® as a blush. That's how I always use it because it's too dark to use around the edges of my face, which is how it's supposed to be used. I received this product in a gratis package from @TeamBIC and Sephora. The other product I used in a different way is Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder Universal . @CynthieLu asked if I had tried it as an eyebrow and eyeshadow primer. Today I used the Blurring Balm as a face, eyebrow, and eyeshadow primer. I've had my makeup on for about 5 hours and so far my eyeshadow still looks vibrant and no creasing. Using the Blurring Balm also cut a smidge off my time since I didn't have to change products, brushes, dry time, etc. My current eye primer is about empty, I haven't decided what to switch to...now I think I know.
The Blurring Balm has also been performing well for my eyebrow pencil. Today I'm using Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat Eyebrow Pencil Refill Soft Brown . The pencil went on easily and still looks fresh. Once I need to replace my eyebrow primer, I'll more than likely change to this; I like the convenience.
That's an excellent way to use the DM product @Titian06 I'm going to have to try that
Thanks, @lmaster ! I used it again today and it kept everything in place for the duration of my work day. I'm so glad @CynthieLu mentioned this; I would never have thought of it!
It's great hearing that is working out so well for you @Titian06 🙌 🙂 woo.hoo!
Wonderful! I’m so curious about that Mario powder! Danessa Myricks says she uses that balm powder as a brow base too. Thanks for the review, that’s great you found a timesaver that works! @Titian06
@sister13 - The Mario Enhancer is a cream, not a powder, if that matters. I think this product would be great for you! Knowing you like to use minimal makeup at times, this is the perfect product for that. It would also come in handy for a last minute teleconference (and less "messy"). With the sale coming up next month and summer around the corner, now would be a great time to try it! 😁
