Re: Empties - V2

January 2025 Empties

Month / Year -To-Date: 16

1.2025 Empties 1.jpg

🐐  I've said it before and I'll say it again, these Shiseido Super-Soft, 100% Natural Facial Cotton 165 sheets are the softest cotton rounds around. I use them with the Bioderma micellar water as part of my pre-cleanse / first cleanse step, and have recently been using them with the Augustinus Bader Essence.

😘  Oribe Restorative Body Crème is rich but not heavy, applies smoothly, softens, and smells wonderful - the citrusy, floral, woody notes create a light, fresh and warm feel. It will be an eventual repurchase but I need to use up some other body creams in my stash

😐  It's hard to say whether these Lemme Sleep Sleep Tight Gummies actually work. They're not bad as gummies - not too hard, but again, I'm not sure whether these did anything to help me get to sleep or stay asleep.

👍  These up&up Gel Nail Polish Remover Pads are convenient, effective, and great for removing glitter nail polish. I pick them up from time to time when they're on sale but I'm not wearing polish or glitter polish as often as I did and I have a few other similar products to go through so this isn't an immediate repurchase for me.

😘  This Diptyque Pomander candle was part of the Diptyque advent calendar, a splurge-y but worthwhile treat. The mix of fragrant spices, orange peel, and a slight touch of sweetness makes it a great winter scent. I have a pretty long list of Diptyque scents I enjoy this has been added to that list.

1.2025 Empties 2.jpg

👍  The Dr. Jart Ceramidin line is one of my favorites. This Dr. Jart Ceramidin Ectoin-Infused Cream is a thicker version of my beloved Ceramidin Cream (with slightly different ingredients, including ectoin). It's been great this winter with the weather being consistently colder than usual. It would be a repurchase, but for there being a similar barrier protecting / healing moisturizer that's thicker and that I like just a bit more.

😘  VOLUSPA Panjore Lychee Glass Jar Candle -  I first heard of this scent from @ather  a few years ago and it's been repurchased several times since. This one was a part of this year's VOLUSPA 12 Day Candle Advent Calendar which is a great way to have several different Voluspa candles/scents within easy reach.

😐  amika Dream Routine Overnight Hydrating Hair Mask  is alright, but it isn't as well suited for my fine hair as the Kerastase Nutritive 8H Magic Night Hair Serum.

👍  SEPHORA COLLECTION Cleansing + Exfoliating Wipes Coconut are convenient to keep in my handbag or car. I use these primarily for cleaning my hands if I'm not near soap and sink, and the mess I need to clean up is larger than what I'd use the Touchland hand sanitizer for.

1.2025 Empties 3.jpg

🐐  CosRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence was one of the first products I used when started getting into korea skincare. It's been, oh gosh, maybe almost a decade(?), and this one is still part of my skincare rotation

👍  Diptyque Sapin Candle was the last box to be unopened in the Diptyque advent calendar. It's a beautiful pine, Christmas tree scent that's wonderful for the holidays. I really enjoy this scent in general and this one in particular. I sometimes end up purchasing this as part of a set but I have a slight preference for other similarly scented candles. That said, I comletely understand why it's a part of Diptyque's annual holiday collection.

🐐👍  Touchland Hand Sanitizer Peppermint Mocha (limited edition) has its shares of fans and foes. I personally like the scent - the mocha is extremely faint in the beginning but it beomes more pominent to my nose about halfway through the product. No idea why that is, but it does make the scent even better. The Touchland hand sanitizers are GOAT products for me; this scent is nice but not my favorite from the line.

👍  Peace Out Salicylic Acid Acne Healing Dots were once my HG, go-to,🐐  pimple patch product. It's still great but the next gen products are thinner and blend into my skin more easily making them almost undetectable, and make these a like, not a love now.

1.2025 Empties 4.jpg

🐐  My skin responds very well to the EADEM Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum with Niacinamide and Vitamin C 1 oz/ 30 mL. It is noticeably more clear, with dark and sun spots reduced when I use this consistently in my skincare routines. A repeated repurchase.

❤️  Saint Jane Beauty Luxury Sun Ritual Pore Smoothing Face Sunscreen SPF 30 1.7 oz / 50 mL smoothes, blurs, and performs beautifully as a primer for makeup. It's in my top 5 SPFs and has been for some time

❤️  Lancôme Monsieur Big Waterproof Mascara 01 Waterproof Big is The New Black was once a 🐐 mascara for me. This remains a well-loved product but as more brands have put out some amazing waterproof mascaras, it's hard to identify just one of them being a GOAT product.

Emoji Key:

🐐=  product is a GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) in its category [I have a personal requirement that I've gone through a minimum of two of the product (one full size) before I designate a product the GOAT]

❤️= Love

😘= Like and would repurchase

👍= Like but would not repurchase (at least not immediately), usually because I like another similar product more or because I have other similar products to work through before making a purchase

😐= Lackluster = it's okay / meh, includes products that are fine enough but are not suitable for my particular skin / hair type or concerns

✖️= No [This is usually given to a product that irritates my skin]

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi Great empties! Have you tried all of the products in the yellow Dr Jart Ceramidin line?

Re: Empties - V2

@Mellmars1185, I've tried all of the Ceramidin range that are available on the brand's site, except for the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Serum Toner 5.07 oz / 150 mL and the hand cream which may be exclusive to the brand site. The brand previously had a separate toner and serum (which I used last month) and it looks like they combined the two products into one. I may have to give it a try, at least look into in the store. Do you have a product(s) you really like from the line?

@itsfi Neat! I have the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream and the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Moisturizing Mask 0.77 oz / 22 g . I haven't tried them yet. I recently started using Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Redness Rescue Kit for Sensitive Skin . I really irritated my skin with something. I find the face cleanser and moisture in the set have helped to calm my skin. Maybe once I am done, I will try them out!

Re: Empties - V2

Oh, I like the Cicapair line too @Mellmars1185! Helps with my mild rosacea. Uh-oh, your skin is irritated? I'm sorry. Do you know the culprit? Or, likely cause? I'm glad to hear your skin is more calm now.

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi Thank you. I travelled recently to somewhere sunny and warm. It was a big weather difference from what I am used to this time of year. I did well with applying SPF during the whole trip. I noticed my skin was very dry when I got back. I was also starting to get some acne along my jaw line. I was applying moisturizer and my skin was drinking it up and slowly improving. Then I applied a small amount of tretinoin on my neck area and that seem to really irritate my skin. It normally doesn't. But I think that the changes in weather was the only factor that was different than usual. It has been about a week since the reaction with the tretinoin.

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi excellent job

Re: Empties - V2

@lmaster, thank you. It's still early in the year, but I'm noticing more tried-and-true product or ones I repurchase often being used up more so than new-to-me items. Either way, I'm just happy to be finishing things that have been open, yaaay!

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi Fantastic job! Yeah nothing beats those cottons!

Re: Empties - V2

They're so good @Samtian but also 💸💸💸 - I've tried others but go back to these. I did hear about ones that are really similar to the Shiseido but half the price. I'll give them a try and report back.

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi Ooh definitely report back! I want to try the Tatcha ones someday but I think they are the same price.

Re: Empties - V2

Will do! Oooh, I just looked up the Tatcha cottons. The Shiseido ones come with 65 more cottons than the Tatcha (though the Tatcha ones seem a little larger?). I'm feeling like I got a deal with the Shiseido now @Samtian. Hahahaha! When the city had a TJ Maxx / Marshalls and I caught sight of the Shiseido pads, I would stock up. 😅

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi  Wow!! Great job!! 3 candles!!!! Wow! 😮 so many great products!! I haven’t tried the amika Dream Routine Overnight Hydrating Hair Mask  on a day that I didn’t wash my hair but I have been using it The night before wash night and seemed to keep my hair hydrated! When you used it was it just to heavy? I think I have a sample of the Kérastase Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum Hydrating Treatment for Dry Hair 3.04 oz / 90 ml and I think I used it the same way. Maybe I need to try mid week. I wonder how it would work if I put it in then use my heat less curlers.

Re: Empties - V2

lol, that's funny, I saw I only went through 3 candles last month and thought "huh, only 3 candles?" 😅 I may have more at the end of this or next month. The climate here usually stays pretty moderate so there's usually at least one candle burning in the house from late October to late July / early August.

The amika was alright; my recollection is that those with fine hair tended to like the results more when they applied it to damp or just slightly damp hair. I felt the same, but I prefer not to go to bed with my hair damp. Also, my hair wasn't as soft or smooth as when I use the Kerastase. I used both, the amika on one half (I used a water bottle to slightly dampen that half) and the Kerastase on the other (fully dry) on day 2 hair, which is usually when I would use the Kerastase, and the side with the Kerastase looked and felt better the next morning.

I'd be interested to hear how the amika performs for you with the heat-less curlers, @ather.

Re: Empties - V2

@itsfi  I think 3 is amazing! 🤩 I normally have candles from late August till may or June! But I have some I only burn a shlort period each season. Hmm maybe I’m slacking. I’ll do better!

Hmm I’ll keep you posted. I’ll try it on a weekend so if it doesn’t work out I won’t have to rush.

January empties-

 ⬆️ Loves

IMG_4882.jpeg

 ⬆️ Likes but won’t repurchase.

IMG_4884.jpeg

⬆️ Disappointments. The Farmacy lip smoothie irritated my lips and the YTTP is typically a love but when I opened this package it wasn’t sealed correctly so it was dried out and I had it too lobotomy to be able to return or exchange it.

Re: Empties - V2

@faeriegirl Wonderful empties! Sorry to hear the last two items didn't work for you.

Re: Empties - V2

Great job!! @faeriegirl you've done amazing

Re: Empties - V2

@faeriegirl i hate when that happens with a product.   You purchase it as a backup and then it leaks or just goes bad.

I too love the Tatcha The Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder Classic .

Great job using all your products!

Re: Empties - V2

@faeriegirl Great work! Sorry about those two.

^ All loves

20250205_155338.jpg

^ Foot peel and Sephora masks are loves. The Inc. Patches were good but took me to forever to use so they may have been past their prime. They also left sparkles under my eyes.

20250205_155433.jpg

^ The Bb Thickening spray and Caliray mascara were repurchases. Loved the Elf Wow Brow, Living Proof Detox Shampoo and the Laneige mask. The Herbivore body oil was on my 2024 pan it project. I think it went bad but I finished it!

20250205_155542.jpg

^ All destashes. The Milk Makeup were expired and dried up. Sadly, the Haus Labs eyeliner dried up. I have not had it long. The rest I tried but did not like/use.
