100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Doing some quick swatch tests during my latest declutter round, as I try to decide which lipsticks in each color family to keep. This is lipstick number 262: Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Bright Raspberry. For the heck of it, I also topped it with MAC Kiss of Stars in Starstruck.

I have 2 of these Art Sticks and haven’t worn them much. They’re very chunky pencils with a comfy demi-matte finish that’s easy to apply. Bright Raspberry goes on evenly with no patches or streaks. It does get stripey as it wears down, so I have to rub my lips together once in a while. I do get a nice berry stain, though. Hmm... I need to swatch this against other berries to decide if I’m keeping it. I topped it with the very sparkly Starstruck shade just to see how it’d fare as a base coat under a topper.

Thanks @Sunnysmom ! Glad I’m not the only one who neglects their Art Sticks. 😄 I think I bought these purely out of curiosity. They’re both shades I can dupe in my collection, but they were marked way down so I thought eh, let’s try ‘em. I don’t have much of a reason to keep them. I think I just convinced myself to declutter them both.

🙄I know @WinglessOne . I just feel so darn guilty with the $ I’m throwing away. Gotta get over that I know! I feel like I need to not fall for some of their more gimmicky lip items I know I won’t love but I always seem to try them anyway! Ugg. 😖

I'd love to collect them all, but I wound up nixing the rest of the shades because they either wouldn't be unique to my collection, or they just aren't for me. A great sale could make me reevaluate that though 😋

They are great! Nice shine and sparkle, but the glitter is very fine (so there's no gritty feel). They wear down well without getting too patchy, and redistribute easily with a lip smoosh, if needed. And they stay comfy. Definitely give 'em a shot at some point!
