100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Since PMG direct is currently offering this lipstick as a GWP, I wore it today to show folks how it looks. Pat McGrath LiquiLUST 007 in Revelation Red. This is my new favorite red liquid matte. (Sorry, NARS Powermatte in Starwoman; I still love you though.)

Revelation Red holds up to multiple cups of coffee like a champ. Had I applied primer first, I wouldn’t get vertical striping/cracking; that happens to me with all liquid mattes unless I use primer, and sometimes even with primer. But my lips don’t feel like a desert and the only transfer on my cup is from the corners of my mouth—and it’s very light transfer.

I probably also said this about the shade Nightshade when I wore it in this thread, but: the LiquiLUSTs aren’t fragranced, which is a plus for me. And this is the only liquid matte formula I can wear without a moisturizing lip primer base. I still have to wear lip balm beneath it, but my usual liquid matte prep is balm + lip primer + lipstick—and since there are so few liquid matte formulas my lips can comfortably handle even with that prep, the LiquiLUSTs are amazing to me.

Thanks @JaneanBT! I’m trying to wear my entire hoard, barring any I’ve purged without ever wearing here. (I decluttered every ABH lipstick I had after wearing a couple of them here and remembering why I never wear them.) It’d help if I’d stop buying new ones, but where’s the fun in that? 🤪 I still have oldies to get through, including most of my liquid mattes and  several glosses. This could take a while!

Thanks @Girly2Shoes! This one’s very easy to remove: I just rub Vaseline on my lips and let it sit for a minute, then wipe it off with a wet towel. This lipstick formula leaves no stains behind and I don’t have to scrub hard to remove it, unlike some other stubborn liquid matte formulas.

Thanks @lmaster! I’m surprised PMG hasn’t marketed their liquid mattes much. I didn’t know they made any until I poked around their site earlier this year and stumbled upon them. I hope Pat releases more shades!
