Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
Lipsticks from yesterday. I started with MUFE Artist Rouge matte in M102. I didn’t bother perfecting/cleaning up the bottom edge for this photo since I knew I’d wipe it off afterward.
I don’t remember this lipstick being so patchy and pasty. 😡 I was able to smooth out the patches. But within 5 minutes of application, this lipstick got crumbly. I quite like Artist Rouge cream bullets but, apparently, the mattes are problematic. I do have another AR matte; I’ll check that one soon. Didn’t check it yesterday because I was already cranky due to sleep deprivation and further aggravated by this shade’s poor performance.
I switched to ColourPop Lux in Brick and topped it in the center with a single coat of Lancôme L’Absolu Lacquer in Gold For It. Most Lacquer shades are good for looks like this because they don’t bleed a lot on their own or encourage underlying lipsticks to bleed. Not that anyone needs yet another reason to buy L’Absolu Lacquers but, well, I’m just sayin’. 😉
I forgot to post my running list of lipsticks worn in this thread last time (I’m posting it every 10th shade):

@WinglessOne beautiful colours! I love the orange in your eye colour!!
Thanks @ather ! It’s a Glossier Colorslide eyeliner in the shade Jumbo. 🙂
@WinglessOne That 2nd colour is simply stunning!!
@WinglessOne Nice ! second one with golden topper is looking very close to one of my old time favorites Revlon "Coffee Beans" I need to see if they still sell it.
Thanks @naturalooks15! Now I need to see if Revlon still makes that shade (I remember that one), too. It’s been decades since I last wore Revlon lipsticks and I’m not sure why I stopped, since their bullets aren’t (or weren’t at the time) bad at all. My lipstick addiction began with Revlon back in the 80s. 🙂
Both of them look great on you @WinglessOne!
Pretty shade (first one) but who needs crumbly unless it’s dessert lol. Love 💕 the second shade combo on you. Gorgeous with the colour of your top @WinglessOne 👍. Wow I just counted my photos to get to 💯 lol. Your list is amazing.
Thanks @2manyperfumes ! ☺️ I’ve been keeping that list since I started this challenge, to keep myself accountable. For the first 100 days, I tried to wear mostly lipsticks I already had, not new purchases, because I was in hardcore declutter mode. Without a list, that wouldn’t have happened. 😄 And I wound up wearing more than 100 lipsticks in the first 100 days because I was wear-testing so many oldies.
I still have a lot of lipsticks left to wear, and they’re not all recent purchases. I haven’t even worn all my L’Absolu Lacquers yet. 🤣 And I’ve barely touched my liquid mattes, now that I think about it. Oh boy.
Oh boy is right lol @WinglessOne I’d love to see your entire collection and I’m glad that you will be sharing more liostick shades with us ❤️
Both look great on you @WinglessOne ! I think I ordered that L’Absolu Lacquer. The other colors sold fast. Fortunately, I love gold.
Thanks @divaknits! I’m glad you were able to get the gold shade. I think it’ll look amazing with your skin tone. And you know, you might end up getting another Lacquer shade in a certain box of goodies some lady in Chicago still hasn’t shipped yet because she keeps adding things. 😄 I need to quit and send it already, before I end up having to move everything to a bigger box that’ll raise your hubby’s eyebrows. 😂
😄 Whenever you send it is fine. I’ll be grateful. My hubby will live. I made a fairly substantial Sephora order, but I added something for him and for my daughter. I get what I wanted and they get stuff too. Nobody can get mad. Everybody wins! Just call me Oprah. You get a beauty product and you get a beauty product... 😄
Thanks @MamaMer ! I’m glad you love the Lacquers! Which shades did you get?
About Pat McGrath lipsticks: when it comes to true shade colors, don’t trust the product photos at PMG direct or Sephora. Look for people’s swatches or, better yet, swatch some testers in person if you’ve got a local store that carries PMG.
LuxeTrance - My favorite PMG lipstick formula. Creamy, comfy, great pigmentation, and long lasting. These are rockstars. Of the shades I own, my favorite is still the warm tomatoey McGrath Muse, followed closely by Wrecked. I hope the LuxeTrance line is permanent and the shade range continues to be expanded. If Pat released a blue, teal, dark green, or black LuxeTrance, I’d buy it (or all of those shades, really) without hesitation.
MatteTrance - Also highly pigmented and long lasting, with a velvet matte finish that doesn’t turn my lips into desert sand. No gritty crumblies as the color wears down throughout the day. My favorite shade is the one I recommend to everyone: Elson, a truly universal red that looks fantastic on everyone. That shade’s in one of the 2 sets of MatteTrance minis, which are a good way to try this line.
BlitzTrance - If you’re a sparkly shimmer fan, you need these in your life. They’re basically LuxeTrances with glitter. I haven’t worn any of mine in this thread yet for some reason; this is me reminding myself to do that. 🙂 The new red shade, Blood Rush, is GORGEOUS and it took a serious amount of willpower to not buy it for myself during my last Sephora store visit. (I bought Flesh 3 instead.)
Lip Fetish - Some folks don’t like these balms, but I love ‘em. They’re some of the most pigmented balms I’ve ever worn. They’re not Luxe/Matte/BlitzTrance pigmented—I mean, they’re balms after all—and I think some people have the wrong expectations. 😄 These are supremely comfy on the lips. I never have to wear lip balm under these and they never dry my lips out. They wear down easily, but show me a tinted balm that doesn’t. I wish these came in mini sizes so I could always keep a couple in my purse/bag.
Lust Gloss - I like these, but they’re honestly not my favorite glosses to wear alone. I like to wear these over a full base coat of lip pencil to boost and even out their color. (When I do that, I also lay down a perimeter barrier of lip primer for bleed/feather insurance.) When these glosses are worn alone, I find the color tends to pool into my lip lines, creating a striped effect. I have to rub my lips together every so often to redistribute the color. On a more positive note, these glosses are just slightly tacky/sticky, so your lips won’t feel glued together all day.
Hope this was helpful!
