Please post your incredible hauls for this month. I can’t wait to see what everyone gets during the Sephora Savings Event which starts first for Rouge members on 4/5.
Sephora Savings Event 2024 FAQs (Updated 3/4)
Happy Birthday month April babies!!!
Oh you got TF perfume. I think my husband likes that one ☝️ Wishing you fully recovery soon so you can playing around with your goodies @WinglessOne
Great choices @WinglessOne . Glad to hear that you are feeling better but please don’t rush back to your daily routine. I don’t feel like I am feeling as well health wise since my Covid infection in 1/22.
Thanks @Loretta55 ! Sorry to hear you’re still not back to feeling well post-covid. I’m sure you’ve already seen a doc about possibly having long covid… I hope that’s not what’s ailing you. I know a few people dealing with that, and one of them was infected in 2021 so he’s resigned himself to living with residual issues forever. 😞
My main holdover symptom is that dang cough, but it’s much less frequent now and is at least productive. (When this crud first hit me, I was dry-coughing constantly and wound up with very sore ribs.) If the cough doesn’t continue to improve within the next 5 days, I’ll see my doc about it. Lung related issues are no joke.
I had extreme fatigue for about 16 months @WinglessOne. After it lifted the inflammation went to both hips and knees. I often wonder if I didn’t rush back to my normal routine would I have been able to possibly avoided some of the symptoms. I am in extreme pain and I don’t walk, I waddle. I had my second set of hip injections yesterday so I’m hoping that it will help. If not I may have to consider getting both hips replaced.
Covid is no joke! Yes I have been getting vaccinated regularly since 3/21.
@Loretta55 Wow… I remember you were unwell, but I didn’t realize it was covid related. I’m so sorry you’re going through all of that. I’d hug you if it wouldn’t cause you more physical pain, and if I wasn’t still technically contagious—I mean, the last thing you need is a reinfection. I really hope the hip injections help you. ❤️
Interestingly, one of my worst covid symptoms during the first 2 days of my infection was hip pain. In fact, it might be the first symptom I felt. My hips had been getting sorer and sorer all day, and while trying to sleep that night they suddenly went all 4-alarm fire on me. Right after that started, so did the chills and fever, and then the relentless coughing began. Now I wonder how common (or not) hip pain is as a covid or long covid symptom… gonna ask my doc about that.
I’m so glad you’re doing better @WinglessOne . You have beautiful new goodies to play with as you recoup! I didn’t lose my taste or smell but I can really relate to the extra pain in my hips and knees sadly. Still have it. Chilly weather/ arthritis issues never help, ugh! I’ve heard others mention this so I do think it’s part of the deal for awhile. Hope it doesn’t last as a long covid thing! @Loretta55 feel better! 💞
Thank you very much for your support @Sunnysmom @WinglessOne . Unfortunately I don’t think that the injections are helping. I am just trying to take it easy. I was lucky that I never lost my sense of smell or taste. I don’t feel like the infection was that bad but the after effects were definitely much worse.
Thanks @Sunnysmom ! And oh no, sorry you’re also dealing with extra hip pain. 😞 I’m surprised I never experienced extra knee pain during covid, since my left knee’s generally cranky any time of year. But man, that hip pain was ridiculous. I really feel for you and @Loretta55. I hope you get better soon!
At first I thought I might just have the flu because of that pain + chills/fever, but then I saw my heart rate was spiking crazy high, so I tested myself. I was so mad at the first covid test, I pulled out a second one by a different brand to verify the positive result. 😂 I’d honestly rather have had the flu. I tend to get over the flu quickly, and (for me) the flu cough is nowhere near as awful as the covid cough. Now I’ll be trying not to get reinfected all spring and summer. I know my body can fight it off, but the symptoms are terrible—and that’s for a vaccinated person—and a second round could still send me to the ER. At least now I know firsthand how to self-identify covid symptoms vs. flu symptoms, so I’ll probably know which virus I have even before a test.
I hear you @WinglessOne . I was shocked that I had it too. Just minding my own business over here! Ugh. Also thankful that I’ve had the shots. Could’ve been much worse I’m sure. So grateful for a decent immune system too. A friend of mine who has had hip replacements told me her doc mentioned that covid could settle in different joints and areas and she said it definitely landed in her hips. That cough and heart rate is such a worry. I would wake up sometimes with a fast heart. Very frightening. Don’t wish it on anyone. I hate a cough that won’t go away anyway! I think I still have some of it! Double ugh. Continued healing to you! Also @Loretta55 and anyone dealing with it! 🙏💞
Ouhhhh hope you feel better soon!! Great haul @WinglessOne
Thanks @lmaster ! I feel MUCH better now than I did 2 Wednesdays ago, thank goodness.
End of March into April hauls:
From Guerlain direct, they have reimagined the Meteorites under Violette, the new creative director, and I couldn’t resist. Less product for a higher price. The pearls seem slightly less round and smaller than the original. Also, this color was slightly warmer more gold, less silver. I’ll post (barely visible) swatches and comparisons in the Guerlain thread.
Samples:
50% off items plus the Tatcha The Kissu Lip Tint SPF 25 Hydrating Tinted Lip Sunscreen Midnight Lily inspired by @itsfi ! Pretty, but I’ll need to try one more time to see if I can stand the strong SPF smell/taste I noticed at first.
Freebie items from CT/Sephora Virtual Event:
@sister13 Wonderful hauls! The Guerlain packaging is just stunning.
Beautiful haul @sister13 ! The pearls are so good but I was shocked to see how much less product there now is. Ugh. Do you notice the different scent? Pretty strong!
I still think the scent is pretty much the same, butt the scent was always pretty strong. I do think the powder itself actually does a nice job of setting makeup most of the day with a luminous finish. @Sunnysmom
That’s good @sister13 ! I felt like it’s a little stronger but I adore the subtle effect so I know the scent will calm down soon anyway! So pretty.
