Hey BIC, let's kickoff the latter half of the year with some wellness bingo! Whether you're just starting out wit focusing on your self-care or you're a seasoned pro at it; or, you're somewhere in between, with your good days, and your not-so-good ones, welcome! (See spoiler below ⤵️ "How To Play" for more details)We're each on our own personal self-care journey, one that, if you're like me, varies - some days (weeks, months, years) are better than others. Wellness is a process - it's about progress, not perfection. It takes work. Much of that work falls on us individually, and our efforts towards self-care, as it should, but that effort is and can be helped, inspired, encouraged, and supported by others, be it friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, or the members of this Community. Wellness takes work - let's do the work together, BIC! How To Play:SpoilerThe short-and-sweet of it is to just jump right on in, by undertaking one or more of the activities described in a square. Once you've performed the activity, that square is yours - check it off however you like. Just remember, be safe and make adjustments, if and as applicable. This game of wellness bingo is about YOU and YOUR WELLNESS. If you want to try for BINGO (5 squares in a row - across, down, diagonal), go for it. If you want to pick activities that are already part of your wellness activities or are ones you've been interested in trying, have at it. You can also choose to go about this by picking a row or column to focus each week, or for the entire month. Tailor your approach to meet your self-care needs and the time you have to give towards it in a particular day, week, or month. As I type, I mixed in a review of the Smashbox photo finish Primer I’ve been using since 2016 in here so you can see my example of a review, and (then in parenthesis I explain you WHY AND HOW I review a product the way I do).Try everything for at least 3 weeks (or longer before reviewing). For skincare try for 1 month minimum, if you only do a month-edit at 6 months because that’s when you see a true skin difference if there is one. Let people know this! (I.E.- I purchased (product here) on (date or 3 weeks ago), and have been using it (Monday-Friday, every 3 days at night, every other day AM & PM). *Review* I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, and while I have tried many others to see new packaging and products, I always return to my 2016 Holy Grail! (People will know I have been using this regularly for almost 10 years now, and also try other products not just blindly follow this one). List your skin type or hair type! (Normal, Oily, combo). For example- *Review continued*- I have Combo Skin with an Oily T-zone and dry patches on my left cheek. I do not have sensitive skin, although I dislike fragrances in skincare and makeup as they *can* break me out sometimes, so I’d rather avoid them. (Always tell people the first sentence, and the following if they apply to a question or product. Here I would normally only list my skin type as it’s all that applies). What do you like about it? What don’t you like about it? What makeup brush do you use with it, is it flakey, does that skin area tend to pill up but does not with this product? What else do you own in that category? Can you compare these products, are they both good and work on your skin- are they both bad because they’re oily foundations and you like thick, quick drying ones? Do they both contain silicones or are they water based and you *always or almost always buy that type of makeup, even by accident?* I knew before it was trending that I only use and like silicone based products as it help me with oil control. *Review continued* This primer helps me with oil control, while offering a smoother base for ease of foundation application over my dry patches as well, saving me time when I usually have to be careful of that left cheek dry patch area when blending- but no more with the Smashbox photo finish! How long does a full product last you, and what’s the price tag? What’s the size in oz for liquids? *Review Cont* The full primer is a full oz, and is $45 BUT it lasts me 6 months!! (Don’t be afraid to google these things! Now compare if you know something similar that YOU HAVE TRIED) I buy it because the Maybelline Master Prime (a knock off, but unfortunately not a dupe so here’s ***WHY*** THE PERSON READING YOUR REVIEW SHOULD SPEND MORE OR LESS) only lasts me about 2.5 months and less is more with the SMASHBOX, it’s actually cheaper for me to get the Smashbox. I wear a 2016 cake face daily (This lets people know I wear my makeup heavy, and I use a lot of product quickly. It also lets people know I don’t only use the product on weekends pr when going out, like 6 months use might imply for some other people). Think of things people want to know, what do you want to know about a product? What it costs, how would you know if it will work for YOU? What information would be helpful? Now let’s say you’re reviewing a concealer- what are common issues? Pigmentation, hyperpigmentation, dark dark under eyes, creasing. What do you use with concealer? (List other liquids or anything that touches it). I started using the Hourglass vanish concealer in late February 2024. I bought it in shade silk, or L1.5 (find a shade twin, give a swatch picture, if you can next to ANOTHER CONC. that someone else might own or alone). I have oily skin with dry patches on my left cheek (always always put your skin type high up for makeup and skincare!) I wear the MAC studio fix fluid in shade C40 (a popular product and lots of people will go by MAC shades when looking for OTHER PRODUCTS) and set with the RCMA No Color Powder (it works super well with these, yay for anyone else who uses these products. It dries down very quickly on its own (someone can use this without powder if you have dry skin, but not if they spend a lot of time blending). Despite that, it still blends very easily to me and is very creamy and SUPER pigmented. I haven’t been sleeping well lately and my dark circles are darker than usual, it covers them as well as my NARS Pot Concealer! (This is popular for blemishes as it’s very thick and very pigmented, it’s popular and well known). The tube has lasted me into July and I wear a 2016 cake face (it lasts me a 5 months of very heavy, daily wear application). It has become a new ride or die for me, it might replace my nars that I’ve had since 2017! (Many people have product or brand loyalty, or can’t find another product that works as well even if someone else hates the NARS one, they understand I might replace my beloved product of maybe 8 years for this one). I hope this helps!!
