Re: Greatest Hits

Fragrances

  • MM Beachwalk.  It's one that's stuck with me and been an easy summer choice for at least a decade.
  • Elizabeth and James Nirvana French Grey.  This was gifted to me by a dear friend probably around 2016 or so.  It's been a winter staple ever since.
  • Ouai St Barts Hair and Body Mist.  This one was provided as gratis a few years ago and I really enjoy it both in summer and as a winter pick me up to remind me that summer does exist!
  • MM Coffee Break has been my go to in the fall.  It brings me good vibes of warmth and coffee!
  • New entries to my favourites have been 7 Virtues Strawberry Jam and Ellis Brooklyn Isla Sirena.  Lovely on their own or mixed together.

Base Products

  • Fenty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint -- An easy formula and a great shade match for me.  It wears well with all of the skincare I've tried underneath and wears evenly through the day.
  • Nars Pure Radiant Skin Tint.  Still hits after all these years.
  • Natasha Denona Hy-Glam concealer.  It's a great full coverage option.  Doesn't need a lot for great coverage.
  • Kosas Revealer Concealer.  Great for me as what I'd call a medium coverage option.
  • Tower 28 Concealer.  What I deem a lighter option for me that I enjoy using as a spot touch up.
  • Cle de Peau stick concealer.  I've loved this as both an under eye option when warmed up with my finger and as a great touch up mid day if I've had some wear on my base or am needed to go out after a long day at work.  Works well with anything else I've got on and blends into those products seamlessly
  • MUFE pressed powder.  Blurs, mattifies without being cakey, good value for money.

Eyes

  • Viseart shadows.  Some of the best mattes hands down.
  • UD pencil eyeliners.  I keep going back to these.  Great shade ranges, easy to smudge a bit and also stay put as a tight liner.  I'm hoping the new Marc Jacobs liners are similar to their older range as those were the tops liners for me.
  • YSL Lash Clash has been my favourite that is still available.  I have longer lashes that I really enjoy volumizing with mascara.  Love the blue option they have as well.

Lip

  • I'm a tinted balm kinda gal....
  • Rhode Lip Tint, Patrick Ta liptints, Ole Henriksen Lip Treatment, Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm.
  • Lip Stains.. Love a lip stain.  All time fav is the Fenty Poutsicle's
  • Leneige JuicePop, easy to wear shades and easy comfortable formula, not the longest lasting.
  • YSL vinyl Shine Lip Stains.  Lovely shades, easy to wear.

Haircare

  • Kerastase has a few ranges that have worked wonderfully for me.  The Chroma Absolu and Gloss Absolu ranges are favourites and the Chroma Absolu Gloss Treatment has really worked so well for my longer, dyed, oily roots, dry ends hair.
  • In a more affordable range the Amika The Kure range and Smooth Over range have been steady repurchases for me.
  • Dyson Airwrap.  It's been so easy to use for me to get a style that I like and can execute daily.  Love the different attachments and that when I travel I can use it as a hair dryer as well.

Tools

  • Sephora Pro brushes.  Hands down a great range.  Easy to use, great price point, last for a long time, great quality.
  • Beauty blender.  I'm a beauty blender gal for base products.  I keep going back.  Honourable mention to Real Techniques sponges as well.

Skincare

  • Dr. Jart Ceramidin Moisture Cream.  A steady product in my winter rotation that helps with broken skin barrier and extreme dryness.
  •  Innisfree Green Tea HA cream.  It's a lighter gel cream that I really finds moisturizes without leaving a film at all.  It really sinks in and hydrates.
  • Tatcha the Rice Wash.  One I go back to time and again.  Easy to use without having to think about it.
  • Youth to the People Superfruit Exfoliating Cleanser with Vitamin C & Papaya.  This has been such a go to exfoliating cleanser that makes me feel like I'm exfoliating without over doing it.
  • Philosophy microdelivery facewash.  Again, a great exfoliating cleanser that isnt' too harsh.
  • Hanyul Brightening Mask to Cleanser.  Love this as a morning cleanse where I put it on and then wash it off two or three minutes later.  Has the most beautiful lemon scent!
  • Rohto Mentholatum Skin Aqua SPF.  I really loved the violet version but haven't seen it in forever.
  • Cay Skin Isle Glow SPF.  A beautiful glow that wears well with other products.
  • Cay Skin SPF tinted lip balm.  Has the lowest amount of 'spf taste' and still protects while looking great.
  •  Vacation Super Sprits SPF 50 Spray.  I love this as a mid day touch up for my facial SPF.

Re: Greatest Hits

Oh my goodness @missjeanie; I feel like I need a post for every category of makeup and skin and body care...ack!!! I think we might also need a thread for discontinued HG's we'd pay anything to get back!

SKIN:

MAKEUP:

HAIR:

BODY:

So many more probably but those are some of the staples in my restocks!

Re: Greatest Hits

@PDXXXX Your 'it's like surgery' comment has my interest peaked!  The Elemis Pro-Collagen Brightening Eye Revive Mask with Hyaluronic Acid 0.5 oz / 15 ml is now on my list to try!  I've never ordered direct before but I have heard others say that they have some pretty fantastic GWP from their direct site at times.  I need to pull out my Summer Friday's skin tint and check to see if mine is still good.  Have you tried the new formula? I need to work through some similar products before I buy more, but I'd love to hear how the formulas compare.

Re: Greatest Hits

@missjeanie ooh, thank you for the GWP going direct tip! It's funny - I tried the pro-collagon moisturizer first and had some odd sensitivity to it so almost never tried the eye mask! I depends on your eye needs but for me it's doing what none other has done for puffiness and my crow's feet. Summer Fridays reformulated the skin tint?? Luckily I have about one and a half bottles left to get through which will take forever. I'm curious now as well how the new formula is as I like the original so much. Like you though I have a lot of similar products to get through before I can justify it. What similar products are you working on and how do you like them?

Re: Greatest Hits

I have so many skin tints on the go right now @PDXXXX !  I'm very happy to report that I've finished off one and am working on my Summer Fridays now!  I'm not so much a foundation girl these days and am more into skin tints with an added SPF.  That said, I don't know that I have an absolute favourite!

Re: Greatest Hits

That’s a great list, @PDXXXX!

Re: Greatest Hits

Thank you @curlychiquita !

Re: Greatest Hits

I wore my Fara Homidi Essential Bronzer Refillable Compact Bois this week after just not wearing bronzer for awhile, and partway through the day, I looked in the mirror and thought, “wow, that looks really good.”  I definitely need to wear it more often.

I’m actually down to only two bronzers: the Fara Homidi and my Hermes bronzer in Tottori.  They’re both beautiful bronzers.

Re: Greatest Hits

@curlychiquita I often think the same when I take the time to put it on!  Dang... a little colour looks good on me... I should do this more often!  Love a good bronzer.

Re: Greatest Hits

@Titian06 I think I have a foil sample somewhere of the Fenty S&C that I haven't tried yet!  And I'm always looking for great S&C's!  I'm so glad you posted this!

Re: Greatest Hits

@missjeanie - I love the Fenty S&C!  I'm on my second bottle of shampoo and third bottle of conditioner (cause you always go through C faster than S).

Know that you need to do a lather, rinse, repeat on the S.  Otherwise, your hair will feel dry and weird with only one wash.  Also, the S may not lather the first time round but should on the second.

Re: Greatest Hits

@Titian06 I ALWAYS need more conditioner than shampoo.  I've heard of these people who can finish each bottle at the same time, but I have no idea how they manage it. I'll keep in mind the double shampoo tip, thank you!

Re: Greatest Hits

Re: Greatest Hits

@danielledanielle The love affair is MM Beachwalk and MM Coffee Break.  I had one of the Nest fragrances before my first Sephoria but seeing the owner and seeing them at Sephoria has really brought them front and center for me.

Re: Greatest Hits

Re: Greatest Hits

@danielledanielle  You’re the reason I bought the Danessa Myricks Beauty Linework Paintbrush Fluid Liquid Eyeliner 0.034 oz / 1 ml !
“I gave birth in it!” That’s quite the testament to the OG formula!!

I may or may not end up screen shooting some lists here to use for future me’s purchasing lists!

Re: Greatest Hits

Re: Greatest Hits

@danielledanielle @I have and love the older formula Dolce Vita blush from Nars! And I first tried the Ami Cole brow pencil after recieving one at Sephoria Atlanta. I’m not normally a big user of pencils and prefer just a tinted gel but I may have purchased a back up of this one when they were on sale. Such good products from Ami Cole😢
