Returning with different packaging?

Hi,

So my friend bought me a foundation for my birthday, but my skin is super sensitive so I can't try any new foundations .. It's the Tarte Amazonian Clay one. I would like to return it, but naturally I don't have a receipt since I wasn't the one who bought it. Also, the packaging looks different from the packaging shown on the website. Would I still be able to return it?

Hi!  You can return any product purchased from Sephora for store credit if you don't have receipt or packaging.  They will take information from your drivers' license to be sure you don't abuse their return policy code, but they are generally very easy-going about this.

Hi Droplikestars.  I recommend contacting the store directly to check.  You should be able to exchange it or get a store credit if it was purchased from Sephora.

I've returned a product without packaging before but I had the receipt. I also returned without receipt before. I wonder why the packaging looks different, it definitely came from Sephora?
