Issued a store credit for a return

Hello.  I needed to return Farmacy Clearly Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 3.4 oz/ 100 mL because it irritated by eyes and the skin under my eyes.  I've never had a bad reaction to a product before.  I placed the order 5/3/23, and returned it in-store today on 6/5/23.  I informed the SA that I understood that I was two days over the 30-day return window for a full credit, but I asked that consideration be made for a full refund.  I was informed that my only option was an exchange or a store credit; I chose the latter.  I understand the return policy, but I have to say that I find it extremely difficult.  I needed time to test the product, then time to let me eyes heal and then retest it - I was not sure initially that the eye irritation was caused by the product.  

 

I also think that two days short of the 30 days is rather close.  Especially when one considers that I made the purchase online on 5/3/23, but had it in my possession for less than 30 days when one considers the time it takes to ship.

 

Is there anything you can please do to change the store credit and either refund my credit card OR provide me with a gift card that I can use online?  I do the majority of my Sephora shopping online and really have no use for a store credit.  They literally sit in my wallet for years.
