I'm insulting the be labeled a "ROOKIE."

I'm VIB Rouge and spend lots of money at Sephora every year.  I am insulted by this new "Rookie" label that Sephora has slapped on my profile.  It's insulting and demeaning and frankly inappropriate.

In addition, lately Sephora has had terrible customer service.  I order items and receive empty shipping boxes with only samples.

The samples are a joke too, why even bother asking us when they send us random junk that I just throw in the trash.  Nordstrom asks what I want and ALWAYS sends me the exact sample I choose unlike Sephora who NEVER sends the sample I pick.

When I complained to Sephora about not getting the item (no longer available) that I paid for and ordered and received an empty shipping box, I was promised a return phone call from someone named "Dan Dan." You guessed it, she NEVER CALLED ME BACK.

Now, I'm a "Rookie" and shame on you Sephora for judging your long time customers with stupid labels.  Your web site is down more than it's up and now I'm no longer a valued customer, as I'm a "ROOKIE."

Sephora, you are nothing to me.  I will take my 1K $ plus that I shop at your store and go to Nordstrom where I'm valued, not labeled a "Rookie," and I actually get the samples I pick out.

Relax its really not that serious !!! It's just a beauty board!!!!not about how much u spend!!!!

Re: I'm insulting the be labeled a "ROOKIE."

Major side note @MidnightDreamer, please don't throw away your samples. Look up a local women's shelter, Ronald McDonald house or any hospital. They all love the samples. The people they service often love to have something and samples are a great pick me up for them. Keep them all in a box till you have a full box and then donate them.

Thank you for your kindness to others and inspiration. No...

Thank you for your kindness to others and inspiration. Now i can't wait till fill up a box instead of just leaving samples in the office break room

Absolutely @mrsbaine. I give my samples to coworkers and family. They love them. Plus it draws them to Sephora or at least another beauty counter.

@mrsbaine What a wonderful thing to remind everyone of the power of simple gestures! If you get samples you do not want or simply feel like shopping but you don't really need anything right now, why not pay it forward and share your bounty with those who would really love the things you see as useless? My father is Ecuadorian and goes back to visit family and friends every year, so I save up samples and buy essentials like soap and shampoo during sales so that he can take them back. It means so much to the people who receive them, they think these "throw away" samples are practically magical and it makes them feel special. I know it sounds kinda silly, it's not like I'm feeding a village or anything, but my dad says the people who receive these little gifts are really happy to get them. I am reminded how blessed, and downright spoiled I am to live where I do and have a job that I love and that let's me live the lifestyle I have, so sharing with those who do not have access to such simple luxuries is honestly the very least I can do. Just something to think about. ✌️

Yes...think of unwanted samples as an opportunity to do a good deed.

Re: I'm insulting the be labeled a "ROOKIE."

It's exactly how I felt when I saw a mother taking care of her kid with cancer picked up a Porefessional sample out the box and smiled so wide and bright. Completely useless to me but it made her day.

But...ARE you a rookie in this community? Some of us have been active in the original BeautyTalk for years, and we were downgraded to Rookie status like everyone else. You don't see us wielding pitchforks! And yes, many of us also spend thousands of dollars at Sephora every year. It's a forum ranking, chill.

Actually most of the complaining comes from those who have been here for years with long threads. Come on - you know that. You read the same boards I do in the same groups. 😉

RE: I'm insulting the be labeled a \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"ROOKIE.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"

🙂have not seen anyone you're talking about "complain" about being Rookie though they've spent x dollars, work with shelter kittens, won the Nobel prize, etc. That is he difference.

RE: I'm insulting the be labeled a \"ROOKIE.\"

Who cares.... It would take a lot for me to stop purchasing from them. Being called a rookie is pretty insignificant to me in my beauty purchasing and in life....

RE: I'm insulting the be labeled a \"ROOKIE.\"

You're wild and need to reevaluate your values 😐

We're all Rookies now - On a positive note, it's a level playing field. 💗

Bless your heart ❤️

Re: I'm insulting the be labeled a "ROOKIE."

oh gawd..

I am in Canada and went almost 4 decades TRULY believing that when someone said "Bless your heart" that they were being NICE!

Having flashbacks right now to all the time my American relatives used that phrase on me. Phone calls will be had!!!!

I am also going to have to re-watch A LOT of American TV shows.

*pitchfork raised!*

Re: I'm insulting the be labeled a "ROOKIE."

@Insomniacmuffin I am sure your relatives were being sweet. Why would you think otherwise? ❤️

Re: I'm insulting the be labeled a "ROOKIE."

@Insomniacmuffin I am pretty sure that @Mcakes meant to say, "Oh dear, bless your heart. I am sure your relatives were being sweet." (as a fellow Canadian, I too was stung on realizing my southern belle friend was being less than sincere from time to time).

No joke, all the OG HoF reactions in this thread are giving me life. I don't even have to pop my response in because all you Rooks are speaking my truth!
