Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mcakes  I'm not usually swayed by packaging (aside from usability and practicality aspects) so the lipstick cases don't influence me one way or the other. They're cute, but these could be in the usual black + gold lips case and I'd be just as excited about them.

I can see why some folks are attracted to the packaging though, especially fans of the show.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne You are so lucky you aren’t easily swayed! What’s that life like 😅? The shades are so pretty, I’m having a hard time picking what I want. I think one with the pink packaging and one with the blue. Which shades do you think I should try? 🤔

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mcakes  The only PMG product I wanted mostly for its packaging is the clear Lip Fetish balm in the R2-D2 case. Luckily, I was gifted one after heavily hinting to friends that it'd be a fantastic frivolous birthday gift. 😄 So, I'm not completely immune. I just generally care much more about the product than the case it's packaged in.

Hmm, shades really depend on your personal preference. I plan to buy either Elson 5 or Infatuation. Maybe Entranced or Venusian Peach, but I need to see realistic swatches of those first.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

The hold PMG has over me is ridiculous. I haven’t been a big fan of her last few launches and somehow I still want to buy this new 6-pan. I probably won’t but I kind of want those astral shades (can’t have enough !) The blush palette is not for me. I have most of her blushes and the packaging is just too bulky. Looking forward to swatches and reviews of those new satin lipsticks though!

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@SportyGirly125 I am absurdly excited about this collection! Not sure why as I don't care much about the show but that packaging and the shades are stunning! I keep frantically checking to see for a release date!

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@SportyGirly125  I only care about the lipsticks in this launch, but the blush + highlighter thingy would be interesting if the blush shades didn't seem so similar to Pat's existing blushes. If the only difference is that these new ones have a pearl finish, then they're an easy pass. I'd reconsider if the packaging was less bulky: if they were in a much smaller compact or palette (even if the palette was cardboard, which doesn't bother me at all), that'd be worth considering for travel purposes.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

I might purchase the blush but I like symmetry and would have liked it in less bulky packaging. Fingers crossed it is sold on Sephora. We'll see if I get FOMO after it's sold out on PMG 🙂 .

@WinglessOne , I tried comparing the blushes and yeah, they do look similar but, I wonder if it will be a pearl finish if it's a baked formula? Comparison attempt below:

Divine Blush
 5=2, 6=3, 3&4=4
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bridgerton Blush
 2=5, 3=6, 4=3&4
Or look at the picture, lol.
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
@Buootiful  Thanks for the comparison! I'd love to swatch-compare them in person. PMG describes the new ones as pearl finish, so that's definitely happening. They're also described as buildable, so I expect them to be a bit sheerer than the existing blushes—though some of the existing shades are also buildable and less color-punchy.
I still think this blush/highlighter palette is a pass for me. But I'm curious enough to see how each shade looks in person.
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
Yeah, I am not getting the blushes. I saw a swatch vid on PMG's insta and it looks like shimmer eye shadow not blush. 😁 I will definitely get the eye shadow pallet because that gold shadow kinda resembles the highlighter in the last collection. I might purchase the Elson 5 too, @WinglessOne .
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
The blushes are a baked formula so it’s all new
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
@LovelyDaisy  Yes, the formula is new for PMG blush, but the shades might not be. Kinda like the LuxeTrance vs. MatteTrance lipsticks: the formulas were quite different, but some of the shades were almost exactly the same (named different but still the same color). That's good if you want the same shade in both lipstick formulas.
It'll also be good if you want the same shade of blush in both the original matte finish and new pearl finish. I personally don't need existing blush shades in a pearl finish—and I'm not confidently saying there's shade overlap here, since I won't know without swatch-comparing myself or seeing someone else's swatch comparison. I'm just saying I'm not buying this blush compact if the shades are too similar to PMG's existing blushes.
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
I don’t really have her blushes so I’m looking forward to this one also the swatches of the blushes for this collection are beautiful 😍
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
@WinglessOne I think I might get the blush, eye and a nude lipstick.  Deciding between negligee and venusian pink
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
Ooh, if the blush trio was a purse with pearl handles, I'd get that in a heartbeat! Is that a highlighter in the middle of it? @SportyGirly125 😍
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
@Buootiful No, it's just a design.  There are only 4 shades in the blush and then a body shimmer on the bottom left.
UPDATE: sorry I see what you are asking.  The heart in the middle is a highlighter.
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
Thank you for the swatches!! I've been debating if it is worth getting. I have everything in the set from other launches but the actual pigment.  💜
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
@Missnur I think if you like blueish shadows it's really pretty to have.
However, I've noticed on my skin tone (which pulls quite yellow olive) it leans more to the purple side of the blue to purple shift. I can still see the blue when it's moving, but it doesn't appear nearly as aqua blue on me as it looks in the pan.
Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD
Something a lil different 😉
