Do you mean “pink but not all pink” as in most pinks have disappeared or this specific color is not all pink? @sugarbaby69 , no it's more of a commentary (sarcastic/cheeky comment) on the brands constant releases that center around the color pink.  Pat's releases as of late usually have pinks and golds with less of the advant garde looks she was known for.

@danielledanielle @makeitup305  FYI, product pages for these are live at Pat’s site (all products marked “coming soon,” of course), complete with swatch photos. And hey, these lip swatch photos actually look realistic! (Unlike the brand’s usual unreliable lip swatch photos. 😂) There’s also a $7 dual sharpener coming soon.

I’m not too concerned about these feeling cheap. I’m a big fan of the lip crayon format: perfect travel buddy, easy application, and I can continually sharpen it to revive the product if it dries out (unlike a bullet). I expect these to rival my beloved Lipstick Queen Cupid’s Bow crayons, which are matte finish (“matte” by LQ’s standards = demi-matte, super comfy, not at all drying, bold pigmentation, and long wearing)—especially if they’re very similar to the MatteTrance formula, since the product page calls these a matte finish. 

$29’s a bit steep for a lip crayon (heh, $1 less than NARS’s though), but I will absolutely buy the fuchsia shade. Might also buy the cool mauve shade. And I’ll have a very hard time resisting Flesh 3 as a crayon. That shade’s one of my all time favorites in any format. If these are coming to Ulta and/or Nordstrom, I’ll hold off til I can get ‘em for $0 OOP there.

@WinglessOne Good point. I love the Nars ones. I still have some in the old formula but haven't gotten any of the new ones. Maybe once the fall sale comes around I'll take a look.

@makeitup305  I love the old NARS satin crayons but kinda hated the Velvet Matte crayons. (I had 2 or 3 shades and decluttered ‘em.) I know the mattes have a big cult following though, so consider me an outlier. 😅 I love the new Powermatte crayons; to me, they’re what the Velvet Mattes should’ve been. I wish NARS would add a bold fuchsia shade of those—but now I might not need that, if Pat’s performs well. 

Pat McGrath Labs has been having frequent sales for the last few years, so you might not need to wait til the fall sale. Eh, depending on what the fall discount looks like. Seems like I get email about a sliding scale discount once every other month. It’ll be interesting to see what the brand’s holiday deals look like this year.

@WinglessOne you called the PMG sale. They're running one for Memorial Day weekend. I'm not in a rush to I'd love to hear your thoughts it you do pick one up eventually.

@makeitup305 @danielledanielle @WinglessOne - I love these types of lip pencils!  I also L-U-V the NARS satin lip pencils and only have a few of the mattes.  I'll definitely pick up one or two of these for science! ⚗🥼

( @danielledanielle @makeitup305 they are creamy, slightly tacky but they smooth out quickly and nicely. Not sticky or tacky.)
