I currently use and like the loose powder. It has a light scent and it is easy to use without looking overdone. My only complaint is about the full size packaging. Like other brands have updated packaging to keep the powder from getting messy if you want to travel. I was in the Chanel beauty boutique recently and saw these travel powders but they are one third of the size but cost more! $58 (full size) vs $65 travel. So you’re definitely paying for the packaging. I passed on this even though I really wanted a travel case. I’ll stick with transferring powder to a travel jar for now.
The pressed powder is okay but I find it gets hard and eventually starts crumbling in a circular pattern from the center. This is a known “feature” of the pressed compact.
@Sunnysmom I transfer the powder very carefully!! I shake up a small amount into the top then carefully tip it to the side so the powder collects in one small area. Then I pour into my travel jar, which has a wide mouth so it’s easy to not make a mess!
perhaps when I am finished with my current jar I’ll look into the travel ones.
That’s a smart idea to transfer some powder to a travel jar @misst . How do you do it so it doesn’t make a mess?! I’m afraid I would be a disaster at it! 🤣
More Holiday releases: At the end of her video, Michelle revealed that Chanel is releasing three 9-pan palettes in their Holiday collection. The layout will be circular pans like Chanel quads (vs rectangles) and the shades are gems and jewel tones. Wallets are on notice!!
I’ve seen a few different sets of swatches of this holiday quad and it doesn’t seem to swatch as darkly as it looks in pan. This was the only swatch photo I happened to save tho
Thx @Mochapj . This definitely has holiday vibe. I’m excited for it 🥰
@Mochapj Thanks very much for the swatches. For some reason I had missed everything on this one.
Some images a bit blurry , from Glowscope1 IG for upcoming holiday. The shadow quad looks so gorgeous! So it must be a purpley inky blue grey situation @Winthrop44 ?! Ugh so pretty! All of it. The lips and blush!
I don’t want to want it @blackkitty2014 @Winthrop44 ! But I’m afraid I will! 😭 Unless it’s totally a glitter fest and doesn’t show up then maybe not!
From Chanel's website, description of the collection and each eyeshadow palette:
2 House symbols come together for the first time in this limited-edition creation: the Les 4 Ombres palette and the CHANEL button. 4 collectible color harmonies created to dress up eyes. Imagined by Ammy Drammeh, member of the Comete Collective, and the CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio.
A hallmark of CHANEL style, the button adds an elegant touch to the House’s fashion designs. The Les 4 Ombres Boutons eyeshadow collection offers a fresh take on this iconic emblem.
The palettes feature 4 hues, each embossed with a unique pattern that evokes a different CHANEL button. Exclusive sleeves keep the compacts protected so they can go everywhere you do.
209 Boutons Mademoiselle includes soft and luminous shades: a light pink, a peachy pink, an understated taupe and a sheer, pearlescent ivory beige.
219 Boutons Couture contains sophisticated and timeless shades: a purplish brown, a warm beige, a deep brown with reddish accents and a metallic mauvy taupe.
229 Boutons Stellaire mixes the magic and splendor of the stars with a rich, deep copper, a delicate light gold color, a dazzling silver blue and a light ashy beige.
239 Boutons Baroque incorporates precious shades with a shiny satin pink, a subtle orangey gold hue, a coppery red and a shimmery magenta purple.
Composition
Long-lasting mineral pigments deliver a striking effect, while plant oils ensure a smooth texture for effortless application.
The Fall Les 4 Ombres Boutons eyeshadow palettes are AVAILABLE to purchase on Chanel US. Mindy at Another MK and Jennifer at AllFeisty have posted links (and there may be others). Sign in to your account. If you see the eyeshadow palettes and a coming soon button, select a palette, add it to your wishlist by clicking on the star, click on your wishlist, add the palette to your bag, and check out.
Hopefully Chanel will clean up the glitch when they are officially released. Chanel sent me a link but it was a struggle to make the “add to cart” button to show up. 😘 @TraceyEB and beautiful friends what are you getting one or 2 if not all 🤣😂
