Burberry Beauty Updates

IMG_0979.JPG

 Capture.JPG

In the vein of the recent Tom Ford Updates and Chanel Updates threads, I thought I would start one for Burberry! I think they have had a ton of great releases recently (new eye shadow formula, kisses lippies). Burberry is one of the most consistently good designer lines in my opinion.

what items have you liked recently from Burberry? Anything you are waiting for or have your eye on?

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Thebeautylookbook(dot)com has good swatches on pigmented lips!

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Haha, I already stalk her site for that very reason!

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Added a swatch somewhere down this thread!

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Seeing how I do not own any Burberry at all (I play around with Chanel, MJ, UD, and Bite) is that trial box that's vib exclusive a good jumping off point? I have admired Burberry's collection from afar, but don't know what products are truly HG (have heard great things about their eyeshadow). I'm gunshy when it comes to purchasing foundation online as I'm porcelain complexted so I'm hard to match. Any and all suggestions/enablers welcome. Thanks in advance Smiley Happy

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Burberry is one of my favorite brands! I'm  impressed with sephora's stock. They have products nordstrom isn't selling yet, woohoo! The beauty box is a good selection of trial sizes. I love their eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks, bb cream, highlighters, bronzers, and concealers. The powder products are finely milled and give a beautiful glow.

Definitely start with the rosewood eyeshadow and earthy blush. It can go on the eyecrease and be used for a face contour or blush. Check out wendy rowe's blog, she uses earthy blush for everything and creates some gorgeous looks for the brand. I love her how to videos.

The nordstrom SA told me the "glow" shadow is meant to be layered over the wey/dry shadows or a sheer wash of color on its own. The glow shadow in shell can double as a highlighter. Love those multitasking products   Smiley Wink

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Thanks - I just went ahead and took the plunge. I'm a sucker and Sephora knows it! At least this seems like a good way to try some of their products out.

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Thanks for sharing the tips and suggestions

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

I hope they start carrying the brand in store. I've never had the chance to try before buying.

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

The Beauty Look Book has posted a review of 9 of the wet & dry silk eyeshadows.

She covers most of the popular colors.. sooo pretty.... Smiley Very Happy

.. and also shows old vs new swatches.

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Mulberry (am I reading that right) looks gorgeous!

As do Pale Barley & Rosewood.

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Just when I thought I couldn't possible need any more eyeshadow, Rosewood and Storm Grey caught my eye. Sigh.

L to R: gold pearl glow dry, storm grey w/gold pearl dry, storm grey dry, storm grey wet w/gold pearl, storm grey wet. I used fresh glow nude radiance as wetting agent instead of water.

I only have the old formula of rosewood so I can't show that. They would work beautiful together since the storm grey is a bit warm.

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Thanks tigrlily! I've never tried Burberry shadows before, I'm excited for mine to get here!

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

I really hope you love them. When they showed up on sephora I was like a 12 year old girl going to a backstreet boys concert

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

I have nude, shell, gold pearl, pale barley, and taupe brown if anyone is interested in swatches.

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Yes and no. lol. *sigh*

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

You have good taste! I have three of those (not shell or taupe brown)- and also Mulberry and Rosewood if anyone wants to see those Smiley Happy

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Hi MK! How do you usually use Pale Barley and Rosewood? I'm about NC42-NC44 in MAC, and Pale Barley always seems to wash me out Smiley Sad

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

Hi Pav! I posted a look just today in the Weekly Challenge thread, and I used Pale Barley in it. I'm not sure if you have a darker skintone than me, but I really love how Pale Barley looks as a wash of color on the lid by itself. Are you using a primer? I also have the old version of Pale Barley, btw, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I will use Rosewood (new version) soon and let you know how I like it, I haven't used it yet!

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

I just saw that, you looked beautiful! I use the NARS primer, and I'm about 1-2 shades darker than you I think (Bobbi Brown Warm Honey).

Will wait for your opinion on Rosewood! Smiley Happy

Re: Burberry Beauty Updates

I'm nc43 and I love both pale barley and rosewood. I use a cool brown in the crease and then Pale a Barley on the lid. With Rosewood, I used a cool pinky brown in the crease.
