Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
@Ispend2much6 I bet these are amazing and soo much better than store bought. They would be amazing on a sandwich or burger. Ok, I am getting hungry ☺️
@Mellmars1185 They do have a very different flavor, but store bought is good too. We like those Bubbe's bread and butter pickles. I'm with you- always hungry anymore!

@CynthieLu There are so many recipes, with slight variations that actually can make a huge difference. Not that fond of this one, but I'll be experimenting and message you if I find a good one.

Grilled pizza season! I do them directly on the grill. Store bought dough, olive oil, diced fresh tomatoes, seasonings, bagged cheese for the pepperoni and sausage ones, fresh mozzarella and basil from my garden for the margherita pizza. Turned out great!

@sister13 These are pieces of art! The shape of each one is unique and makes each pizza so special. All of the fresh ingredients look so tasty! This looks like the perfect summer meal.
Thanks! I usually just stretch them out by hand, so however they turn out, they turn out! Sometimes I use the rolling pin but easier to just use my hands! I wish I could spin like the Italians, haha! @Mellmars1185

Your basil is picture perfect! I would be so happy to just walk through your garden - flowers, herbs, etc., all of it.
Thanks! I love basil and my husband doesn't prefer the margherita pizza (or basil), so I loaded it up! The grasshoppers are happily and annoyingly chomping on everything already this year, but there are 3 basil plants that should provide enough for me AND the grasshoppers babies! I had to pick through for the leaves without holes chewed through them but it help to keep it producing fresh basil, so I try to remember to trim it regularly, even if I'm not eating it.
Which reminds me, I'll have to do a summer update on The BIC Plant and Gardening Thread soon!
I think I'm going to do shrimp on the grill tonight, with zucchini and mushrooms. 🙂 @itsfi

Oh my goodness, that sounds delicious @sister13. 😋 I wonder if I could get a flight out in time for dinner. ✈️ Hahaha! Just driving by for some yummy food. 🤣 Happy to bring over some wine and can do dishes. lol
Okay, so shrimp and veggies tomorrow now, you have another day to book your flight! My husband wanted fish sandwiches. i forgot to take any pics but I take tilapia, slice it super thin and dip in egg wash, then seasoned flour, and fry it up. It’s inspired by an amazing fish sandwich we always get in Bermuda, called the Spicy Dicey! 🩷🩷
