Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
@CynthieLu These are best the first day; I wonder how the batter will keep in the fridge.
I did use plain kefir instead of yogurt as stated in the recipe and it worked well.
I've never tried to keep batter beyond a day @Ispend2much6 did you have some extra left over?
@CynthieLu Not for muffins, but for pancakes, yes. I know you're a cook so I'll get detailed here- there are some pancake recipes that even have leavening added initially to the batter that keep in the fridge for several days, but I haven't compared those ingredients to the ones in the recipes that are cooked immediately.
Sourdough and buckwheat pancakes are two types that can be refrigerated that come to mind.
@SportyGirly125 Thank you! It is a pretty muffin; doubling the blueberries probably helped!
Mini Doughnuts
Fruity Pebbles
Cookies and Cream
I don’t know what the other flavors are haha
Fruity Pebbles! The glaze is almost like milk! So delicious 😋 @CynthieLu
- Rise
- Steak
- Salad with tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce
I tried various diets to lose weight, but I can't say they worked well. Maybe I chose the wrong plans. I ended up eating what I liked, but being more physically active. I should say, cycling helped me lose several pounds. But recently, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. At first, it was a shock for me. Then I realized it was time to change my nutrition completely and live this way for my whole life. I read that people who buy wegovy online and are on a low-carb diet can manage the condition and even avoid taking medications. I'm going to try this in the hope it will help.
We had our first harvest of cucumbers over the weekend. I was able to make 6 qts of freezer pickles out of them.
Yes, our refrigerator shelf is currently being held together with zip-ties. 🙂
@Ispend2much6 yum! Do you have a "go-to" pickle recipe or was this a new one?
@greeneyedgirl107 Thanks! I think I have enough cucumbers waiting to be picked to try out another recipe.
