Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
That looks amazing @AznAngelLiz! Three hours… They must have just fallen apart! 🤤
@AznAngelLiz, I’ve been nursing a cold & haven’t had much of an appetite but wow, this is making me come around. It looks delicious! 😋 I can never make my pork dishes tender (I have a special knack of making it turn out dry or very dry 😔) so I’m completely intrigued by this - “fork tender” pork sound yummy!
If your pork is consistently dry @itsfi ( I imagine you defintley season her with a bit of salt and your preferred spices) you may just be cooking it a smidge to long, if your afraid of it not being cooked throughly you could invest in an affordable meat thermometer and once, at the center, it reaches 145 she's done and ready to eat. If she's cooking to fast and the inside is raw but the outside is getting over done, I suggest lowering your cooking temperature. I'm a big fan of 350 oven temp 😉
@itsfi ,
Oh, gosh! May I recommend that you use pork tenderloin! It is always tender, no need for prolonged cooking. It's one of my favorites.
Sorry to hear about your cold! I hope that you will feel better soon!
By all means @tsavorite, recommend away!! 😍 Do you prep your tenderloin with a rub or marinade?
@itsfi ,
I don't marinate or use a rub, but you certainly can do that. I think tenderloin is versatile. Tender is the key word.
You can bake the tenderloin whole, or cut it into pork tenderloin medallions and cook in a pan on top of the stove.
Thank you @tsavorite. I've tried making tenderloin before and managed to make it dry. 😂 It's a true gift, I tell ya. Will put it on my list to revisit at another time.
@itsfi It was super yummy. It's a recipe from yourbarefootneighbor on IG. Only thing I did extra was add a packet of onion soup mix to the gravy because I loooooooove onions LOL
@AznAngelLiz 3 hours?! Wow, I bet they practically fell apart!
@AznAngelLiz Mmmm that looks really delicious and comforting 😍
@Mellmars1185 Thanks! This was my first time making it so I only did a few pork chops, which were gone in one sitting. I'm adding this to my meal rotation.
I made Spam musubi for the first time tonight! They were delicious, even my husband said so and he’s very discerning, lol. I made mine without the nori - I want to like nori but I just don’t.
Thanks @AznAngelLiz and @blackkitty2014 ! I like mine without the nori, whereas my husband actually likes it fully wrapped in nori! Haha, we are opposite in many things!
That looks so good @sister13 Spam musubi is one of my favorites1
Thanks! My husband just told me that the seaweed’s part should cover or almost cover the spam, but I’ve only seen it this way, so I can make it for him like that next time. I guess this is the new style, lol! @Kim888
I love spam misubi! Yours are perfectly shaped @sister13.
I got a musubi mold/press on Amazon and it really works, haha!
