Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
Good one @Ispend2much6! But just to be sure, I'll need to try both the pumpkin mousse cheesecake and the chocolate mousse cheesecake. Just to be sure, of course. 🤣
Coming in with the heartier fattening soups @Ispend2much6 smartly did not make this week. 😳🙄😂Creamy chicken noodle soup that tastes just like pot pie and chicken meatball tortellini (only had mini raviolis) soup, both so easy and good. (Can use turkey or sausage too.) So yummy for our chillier weather finally. And hey, the good fats...maybe?! 😬
@Sunnysmom yum yum 😋 Save me a bowl or two ... I come right over 🥰🤣😂
@Sunnysmom @These look so yummy especially since it’s been colder.
Mmmm.... I love soup @Sunnysmom, and this is the perfect weather for soup! 😋
Me too @itsfi ! I’m trying to learn to make different ones these days. Do you have some favorites?!
@Sunnysmom I could reeeally go for some creamy chicken noodle soup right now. Both of these look delicious!
It is @Ispend2much6 ?! That’s funny. Thank you! The spices etc floated to top I see too. Looks like more than it it maybe! Soup sure helps not having to cook as much doesn’t it!
My food processor...full of my crystallized tears peppered with flakes of mascara, because I was so happy to discover that vanilla sugar can be made not just by scraping out the seeds from the individual beans (after following that exact process,) but also by chopping the beans into 1-2 inch pieces and throwing them in my food processor with the sugar!
Vanilla sugar made this way has chunks of bean mixed with the sugar instead of just the seeds, but I see this as a plus because all of that beautiful vanillan and vanilla oil will seep into the sugar as it ages, making it even stronger and more flavorful.
I'll happily sift the sugar later, rather than scrape beans now.
I learn the most fascinating things on BIC! I’m going to have to try this @Ispend2much6! 😍
@itsfi Me too! I'm so happy to have gotten this done. My beans were a few years old, but still in good shape (the ones in glass vials keep the best.) It needs to set for awhile to get enough flavor, so I think I'll be good for Christmas baking.
I never knew this stuff @Ispend2much6 @missjeanie . Thanks for such good info! I’m such a rookie at all of this kind of thing. So delicious. Tears, that’s a good one! 😂 Your soups look amazing!
@Ispend2much6 We used to scrape vanilla pods to use the seeds in different recopies, then take thé spent pods and either pop them in a vodka bottle to make vanilla extract or just pop the whole pod into canisters of sugar, no food processor necessary, and no sifting, if you’re looking to save a step at all. I rarely go through as much since I don’t run a shop anymore but I still use these methods at home too.
I love that you make vanilla sugar😁 so many people don’t take that extra step that gives recopies a bit of something more.
That's good to know, thanks! I agree that it adds something special to recipes. @missjeanie
Butternut squash is in season and on sale, so I tried a new stew recipe: Chicken, Apple, and Butternut Squash Stew from the site My Recipes.
It's not pizza, but it's pretty good. 😉 I roasted the butternut squash seeds too, and some I had from using delicata squash. They are delicious and much easier to eat than pumpkin seeds.
