THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

Iโ€™ve wanted to start this for so long but never got around to it. Back in the day I think I had a similar thread and I wanted to bring it back.

Do you love anything out of the norm: the strange, the unusual, and the mysterious? Anything relating to the supernatural, the paranormal and mystical? Then this thread is for you! A place to discuss anything and everything about the unknown, the occult, legends and theoriesโ€ฆ anything goes!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

@Tamara76 @tsavorite  I totally agree!! And I truly believe Little Miss came over on a bridge of prayers after all we went through before having her! She's truly my little angel!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

@mermadelove Wow!  This is absolutely amazing, girl!!!  I am literally sitting here with my jaw practically unhinged after reading both of your stories!  You and Lil Mermade definitely have someone watching over you! โค๏ธ

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

@mermadelove

Whoa! That is awesome!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

@mermadelove Oh jeez Im so glad you ended up okay! I had something similar happen too! Car was just fine until it hit some random ice during a snowstorm and I did a 360... I looked up and saw myself facing oncoming traffic however I was now in their lane, not my own.... a giant 18 wheeler was heading straight for me.  Thankfully my car kept spinning and moving and I landed facing the opposite way and I was sat peacefully in the ditch.

A nice man pulled over with his pickup and a rope and pulled me out ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

Ooooh ladies Iโ€™ve got a couple of stories for ya - some kind of funny, some not so much. But Iโ€™m at work and weโ€™re on edition so it will have to wait until later this evening. Howโ€™s that for a cliff hanger? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

Okay, @jozkid,

We are waiting!  ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the idea of this Thread!   ๐Ÿ™‚    @veronika23

It's like telling stories around a campfire or a cozy fireplace!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

I'm of Cuban and Ecuadorian descent, so I grew up with some really... interesting views of the world. I've been told all sorts of stories and been involved in some unique situations, so I'll just share my favorite such event:

A few weeks after getting married my husband and I went out to dinner with friends in a popular part of Miami on a Friday night. As I was still getting used to the whole married thing, I was in the habit of playing with my rings and taking them off and on while applying creams and makeup. Anywho, I was of course finishing my makeup in the car while my husband drove. When we finally got to our destination, we had to drive around a while to find a place to park as it was very crowded. We eventually parked a bit far from the restaurant and were already running late, so I was pretty flustered as we were getting out of the car.

We wound up hanging out with our friends for hours, and were quite tired by the time we got home. It is at this point that I finally realized... I wasn't wearing my engagement or wedding rings! I freaked out! I figured I must have left them on the dresser or on the bathroom counter, bUtah nope, they weren't there. Then we tore the car apart, figuring I must have placed them in my makeup bag or that they had fallen under the seat, but again nada. At this point I am bawling my eyes out and my husband is gathering all the documents to make a claim with the insurance company. But first, I had to call my mom to ask her for advice, i.e. get her to do her thing.

See, while my Cuban side of the family is hardcore Roman Catholic, they all grew up knowing the customs and rituals of the other big island religion, Santeria. My mother knew just the right thing to do, so she told me, "Don't worry, I'll go tie San Dimas to a chair right now." Whenever any of us lost anything my mom would bust out this ritual, say a prayer, and we always found our lost items. Although the odos of finding my rings were getting worse by the minute since they weren't anywhere in the house or car, there was a chance they were lost by our driveway or something, and would be more visible in the sunlight.

Well, Saturday and Sunday came and went, and no sign of the rings. We even called the restaurant in the hopes that I dropped them in there and an honest person had turned them in. No such luck. By Monday my husband was ready to call and make a claim so he could replace my rings, but my mom insisted I was going to find the rings. So, in a last ditch effort, that Monday morning I drove back to the street where we'd parked and decided we'd retrace our steps one last time, all by myself, while praying with my mom over the phone.

I started by looking I. The gutters, I mean, I was down on my hands and knees peering into every nook and cranny. After a few minutes I decided it was a lost cause and stood up to wipe my hands, and as I was rising I noticed a glint from underneath the green grate surrounding a palm tree right there on the sidewalk. I told my mom to keep praying as I approached the grate and had a good look. And what was sitting there, stacked up as neatly as you please? My engagement and wedding rings! After a Friday night, all Saturday, all Sunday, and a busy Monday morning, my rings had just been lying there for anyone to see and take if they'd just looked down.

I started laughing, and my mom thought I'd officially lost it. When I told her that I was just in shock since I had finally found my rings, she said, "Of course you did, now I have to untie San Dimas since he answered our prayers." I then called my husband and told him the good news. He was as shocked as I was, but deep down I knew that I'd get them back, because that's what faith is all about. While I am an ardent believer in the scientific method and place no stock fly-by-night claims, I will always believe that some things happen as they are meant to happen, logic be darned!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

Thatโ€™s a beautiful story @LCResz I am happy you found your rings!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

@LCResz. I love this story! Glad to see Iโ€™m not the only one who has these experiences! Thanks for sharing!!!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

@LCResz Thats so cool, and I'm so glad you got your rings back ๐Ÿ™‚ Sure, insurance could have helped but that doesn't replace the memories!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

That is so cool @LCResz! I had a coworker who told me to think very hard on any lost object and chant "Diablo picate la colla" (devil bite your tail" not sure if I spelled the Spanish correctly, but I've found lots of lost things while doing it!

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

Oh my gosh that story was amazing @LCResz ! I was on the edge of my seat. I had something similar happen with my Fitbit, LOL. (Sorry to compare a Fitbit with your wedding set! But I was pretty excited to find it days later just lying in a parking lot, waiting to count my steps once more.)

Re: THE OTHERWORLDLY THREAD ๐Ÿ‘ฝโœจ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ™

@LCResz,
