Ok so I've been wanting to make this thread for a while. I've also been wanting to start a "random thoughts" thread...but I figured I'd separate the categories so that at least the "beauty" one is on the front page, rather than hidden in off topic. So, have a beauty-related thought but don't think it's worth starting a thread about ? Post it here !

today I got a facial at an extraordinarily nice spa. A real treat. And the results were immediate and truly great. But guys: she pulled out a clarisonic and a foamy cleanser for that first initial cleanse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Great for a lot of people but most of you know how I feel about those things !!!!!! Overall, as I said, it was great and my skin is happy. But sheesh.

Darn, I've conditioned myself that as long as I'm not paying more than fifty cents for a cup of tea it is fine. That is about the cost for a cup of coffee when I make it here at home.

The latest around here is lemon lavender mint tea.

i'd definitely have more mula, SQ, if i a. stopped buying lipstick as an emotional crutch ( 😉 ) and b. thought more thoroughly about what constitutes an expensive tea bag. but i love these teas so much....i'd do it again  😉

For anyone looking, I found some flavors at the Vitamin Shoppe site, $5.95/ box, free shipping $25+ 🙂 I picked out a few to try.  I go through tea slowly so I know they'll last me a while haha.

This is a bit odd—maybe I've finally cracked from looking at so many lipstick swatches online. I'm looking for a lipstick that matches the color above: a dark pink-red. A few things:

• This is a promo picture from "Agent Carter." She famously wears Besame's Red Velvet on the show, but I don't believe that's what she's wearing in this picture.
• I own Red Velvet and it only pulls red on me; there's no hint of dark pink.
• Maybe she is wearing Red Velvet in this promo picture too, and due to lighting, photoshop, etc., it just looks different on her.

So can anyone recommend a dark pink-red lipstick? I prefer traditional lipsticks (matte formula), but even a rec of a liquid lipstick or lipgloss would give me a path to start on.

How 'bout NYX Bloody Mary?

Maybe contoured, or just lined ( she's got that lined with something bit darker than her lippie, and I think that liner's giving the lippie that dark pink-red feel actually ), with MAC's Beet lip pen.

I have Brocade and it looks like a dark purple on me.   In the rube it looks like Nars Fanny.

Temptalia and my lips are so far apart.

One of my first thoughts was Revlon's Cherries in the Snow.

I first thought of this shade because it was first released in 1953 & kind of fits in with the show (maybe? I don't know. The most I heard about Agent Carter was from Vaashti)

Bacherolette from KvD's liquid lipsticks also crossed my mind, as did American Beauty from Besame.

Here's a couple of swatches taken inside with flash.

So I wore Cherries in the Snow today in the name of scientific research.

It pulls a lot more pink on me than red.

This is such a puzzling mix of red and pink that this Agent Carter has on. One could manipulate the shade of Cherries in the Snow with a red lip liner but it would be more fun to find the exact match.

Plus, the finish of Agent Carter's lipstick is much more matte looking.

I hope its another Besame shade (I love that brand!) or I wish it was an Audacious one..
