Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

Whether this is your first time tuning into wellness bingo on BIC or you've tried your hand at this before, welcome! 👋
march bingo form.jpg
What is this about?
Simply put, it's about focusing on our personal wellness, in a fun way à la a game of bingo.

Self-care can be a very personal thing - what works for one person may not work for someone else. Practicing wellness is a process - it takes time and effort. We have our good days and bad days - moments when we are thriving; and others where we need to pause, take a deep breath (or multiple ones, for that matter) and reset. But even as our self-care journey is a personal matter, support, encouragement and just knowing there's something there doesn't hurt.

Legend (working copy).jpg

Squeezed in two more wellness activities this week.

Celebrate the small wins: I filled a bunch of plastic eggs for an Easter egg hunt and actually started and finished with doing so a week before Easter (as opposed to the night before which is often how it's been the last few years). A small win for me. I celebrated by having a few jelly beans. Now to think of places to hide these eggs - must remember to make a list of where I hid them, too! 🤣

Celebrate YOU: Let me be very transparent here, this was awkward. I honestly just wanted to get to the part where I would treat myself. Hahahaha! That, that I can do. But I slogged my way through it ... eventually, lol. Baby steps. While this part of the "celebrate" series, if you will, is meant to focus more on the self and not as much on things we've done or our accomplishments, I took the latter as it felt more tangible and reversed engineered what it took to get there / accomplish that thing and considered those attributes, talents, skills, character when working towards celebrating me. And then, I treated myself to a scoop of ice cream.

Wellness bingo card for April will be posted tomorrow morning (April 1) Pacific Time.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@itsfi  Yeah, I kinda skipped the "Celebrate You" box, I may be a bit of a Debby Downer, but I don't feel like there's much to celebrate 😅 I am proud of you - you should celebrate yourself everyday, Fi, because you are an amazing human being! I think you should treat yourself to another ice cream scoop 😉🍦

Oooh, Easter eggs! Who are you doing an Easter egg hunt for? You are smart for noting all the hiding places! When I was a kid my dad would use real hard boiled eggs in the hunt, and did not note where the hiding places were.... I remember smelling something foul once and ended up finding a rotten egg in my little kitchen play set I had. 😅

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@Shosh85, awwww, thank you. You're too kind. lol, I was thinking "who's idea was it to put "celebrate you?!!" in a box. Need to have a little chat with that one 🙄🤣

I shall celebrate you with ice cream, twist my arm, why doncha?!! 😂 I mean, ice cream is a food group, am I right?! I've always thought so. But if it's questionnable, I'll do the right thing and make it a banana split - that way I get in fruits (banana, cherries), protein (nuts) and more dairy (whipped cream). If I need a grain, I'll put it in a waffle cone. 😉

You're raising two phenomenal humans and doing a stellar job, girl! 👊 Moving, while it can be exciting, has its share of challenges and you're making your house a home for your family and work hard (every hour of every day) to make sure they have what they need and that they are thriving! You're a rockstar Shosh85!

I stuffed plastic Easter eggs for my niece for an early egg hunt, for an after Easter service egg hunt for a bunch of kiddoes, and made some small carek packages in Easter eggs for some friends' kiddoes and for them, too.

Hahahaha, yes, a lesson learned the hard way. I remember as a kid looking for eggs with my brother in the morning on Easter Sunday but my allergies would get the best of me (eggs were hidden inside the house and outside, ruh roh) and at some point, I had to stop looking. And then, sometime later in the week having to do another hunt because ummmmm the adults realized there were far fewer eggs recovered than eggs dyed. 😲😂🤣😂🤣  Yeaaahhh, I think after that year, my dad was no longer in charge of hiding the eggs by himself, lolololol. Somehow my mom didn't find it a worthwhile accomplishment to be "so good" at hiding the eggs that they couldn't be found.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@itsfi  Thx for the April thread tag. I am really enjoying this series 🥰 I did have ice cream multiple times this month too🫣.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

Awwww, thank you @blackkitty2014; makes me happy to hear you are enjoying this series. Ohhh goodness, it was soooo warm for a couple of weeks in March. I feel like everyone's intake of ice cream, sorbet, gelato, etc. just went up so much! 😂 A fun way to beat the heat! 🍦

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@itsfi , 😉 I Too Am Also As Well Enjoying This Series You Got Going On 😋 #AnyExcuseToBeHappy

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@itsfi Wow look at that card! Ice cream and jelly beans are a great way to celebrate.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@Samtian, it was definitely a fun way to celebrate. I'll be trying to do better with eating more clean this month (April); oh, I'll still have ice cream now and again but less so than in March. 🤣

Week 4- Daffodils. Daffodils symbolize rebirth, new beginnings, joy, and hope, often associated with the arrival of spring, Easter, and the 10th wedding anniversary. Common usage includes gifting for encouragement, celebrating March birthdays, or as a symbol of cancer awareness (hope for a cure)

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

I look forward to when daffodils are in season @Samtian so seeing your stampers brought a smile to my face, thank you. Excellent work on your BINGO's, woohoo! 🙌

@itsfi

The celebrate things were what I was really excited about this month and they were even better than I thought they would be. Some of them I combined with other things from the board.

Celebrate someone you know - one of my coworkers announced her retirement - good for her but sad for us. She’s like all our work mom/aunty/big sister/nan. Her last day isn't until May but a few of us packed some food and walked over to a nearby park during lunch.

Celebrate the small wins and exercise - I’ve been getting myself to the gym a couple times a week and once on the weekends. My gym buddy was out of town last week and this week but I kept to our schedule which is a big “small win” for me.

Celebrate a stranger - the lady at the table next to us last night was celebrating a birthday so we wished her a happy birthday!

Celebrate you & Just celebrate & Treat myself - to celebrate my keeping with my gym schedule, I treated myself to ramen and dumplings. I can't help it, I really love carbs. I've been trying to eat healthy and only have a heavy starch-loaded meal once a month and keep all other meals more balanced - I can't do the no carb thing, my boyfriend can, but I just can't do it. I went with 2 loves - noodles and dumplings. Yummy. I did eat just half the dumplings and ramen tho so that's another small win to celebrate. 😝

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@Shosh85 @itsfi @Samtian

thank you!!! 😃

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

@nuinui933  Oh yum, I love carbs, and dumplings and ramen sound delicious! 🤤 Great job keeping with the gym schedule- it's all about balance 😉

Spring bucket list - did 2 lists, one with my boyfriend and his kids, and another with some solo activities for me to try when my boyfriend is out of town for work with things that he doesn’t seem all that thrilled about doing - going antique shopping isn't his jam

TV/movie - I'm hooked on heated rivalry and we took the kids to see Hopper and the littlest to see the Pout Pout fish movie

Digital detox - doing it on weekends during our hikes but it also happened the other night when I realized I left my laptop at work - not mad about that at all, ha!

Musictherapy - went to a concert with friends

Spring cleaning - we had a few things we left in storage and finally went thru them with the deck finished. Feels good to not have boxes in storage or storage fees to pay 💰

Welcome spring - picnic in the park

Celebrate you and Be mindful - I multitask a lot in meetings that should actually be done in a quick and painless email. I can’t be the only one who feels this way, am I right? Anywho, a couple coworkers and I have tried not to do it all the time but we have a lot of meetings that really are just out of hand, but I did sit through one this week without answering or sending a single email or text, or checking whether my packages had been delivered. 😆 My celebrate me moment for that was margaritas and chips and salsa after work. The marg, chips and salsa were great but I'm not so sure I can suffer thru another meeting that should be an email without multitasking. 🤣 Painful.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: March 2026

Love the variety in your wellness activities @adamsev and your dot stampers are giving spring feels with the pastels. 🙌 Congrats on your BINGO's, nicely done!
