🌟 Posting Your Self-Care Activities. This challenge is certainly one you can do on your own. It's also something we can take part in together. If you feel comfortable, share about the activities you did to earn each square by replying to this original post - with words, photos, and/or a pic of the bingo scorecard with the activity / activities you took part in crossed out. You can post weekly or at the end of the month, depending on your preference. We love hearing from the Community and have learned about new ways of doing things that we wouldn't have thought of otherwise.
@itsfi Thank you for the tag. I will try to better this month as well! 🙂
@PrettyPaint, so great to have you join in. It's all a work in progress!!!
@itsfi Ooo yay!! Thanks!😊 my goal is to do better in February!!
@ather, you got this!! Just gotta work on it one day at a time. There are some slight tweaks to the BWell board for February but it'll be fun to try new things and to hear how others have approached their wellness activities. 😍
@itsfi Yay! Looking forward to it! Thanks for that tag! 😃
100% agree @Shosh85! I'm excited for February wellness bingo. It's a shorter month and this'll make the it go by even faster!! We got this! 👊
And, the board is cleared! 🙌
I marked off the squares I had remaining with a 🐍 since it is the Year of the Snake on the Lunar New Year calendar.
@itsfi Love it! Last time I was there I really wanted to go to that garden, if it's the one I'm thinking of, but it was either closed or cost money.
Woo Hoo!! Nice job @itsfi! 👍👏🙌
I definitely know how it feels to be hard on yourself- it's not easy to fully accept that the good things people say to you are actually true. I think being able to just accept a compliment without downplaying it, is a great start! 😊
You definitely have a talent for photography! Your photos are always amazing! I absolutely love these from the Japanese Tea Gardens - beautiful! We have Japanese Gardens here, and I love visiting it - so beautiful, peaceful and serene.
oh a foot soak sounds lovely! Sounds like a great way to end the month!
Those are some cute gifs @Shosh85. Yeah, it's a work in progress - being grateful for the compliment is easy; it's flattering and very kind. Accepting it, I can do if/when I feel the person is being authentic and genuine which is often the case. Accepting it without downplaying it? That can be a big challenge, especially downplaying it in my mind, but like you said, it's a start. Work in progress, right?!
Thank you; you're always so kind; appreciate that. Taking photos is a nice break - all those years of sheet masks, hauls, monthly favorites really gave me opportunities to work on taking photos. The last time I was in your neck of the woods I wanted to visit the Japanese Tea Garden but we ended up not having enough time. It's on my list for next time for sure. Ohhh, the foot soak - I was more consistent with it years back and am slowly trying to make it something I do more regularly.
Fantastic work! You did it!!! If only I had your meme skills I’d try to find something fitting but it would probably be more random then ever haha 🤣 I love your photo skills and the nature and scenery is just so wonderful that squirrel is living their best life. Speak kindly to yourself is a great practice I think I think sometimes it’s hard to translate but I think you did excellent with yiur framework and by translate I mean form head to heart and feels! Epson salt is so useful. I also want to add an extra square which I’m very appreciative of is making this thread for us. Greatful for you. Amazing job ❤️❤️❤️ @itsfi
Thank you @peculiarzmakeup! Oh my goodness, that squirrel was having a great day snacking on leaves, in his tree. 😊 Taking photographs can be a very good way for me to slow it down. There's a photographer in everyone; just have to find what you like to shoot and your own style. A Year of Beauty- Photography Challenge- Year 2 offers some great techniques and tools and Module 2 - Flatlay Skillshop 101 is up on 🏫🎓BIC University 🎓🏫. It's centered around beauty products but they can be tips and techniques can be applied to other types of products. I've seen your photos and they're wonderful!
I love how you phrased that that was very lovely! Thank you so much! And those are great ideas I’ll check those threads out ❤️ @itsfi squirrels in nature they are too funny sometimes 🤭
I started Week 4 with every intention of clearing the month's BWell card, but ended up getting sidetracked 🙄, though I was fairly consistent with prioritizing sleep and a few other activities from weeks past. 🙌 Even though I still have a few open squares on the board, this past week had its share of meaningful self-care moments (marked with the cyan blue snowflake) and I'm grateful for that!
👍 Resolution: Some nights it takes a good deal of effort to shut down the electronics and do a proper wind down. When I stick with it, I feel better all around - mind, body and soul, and I try to remember that when the distractions creep up. I didn't hit my 60-minute detox before bed every night this week, but I was unplugged for at least 30-40 minutes every night.
🙏 Practice Gratitude: This was a fun one for me this week. I approached this self-care activity by saying 'thank you' to a friend who's been supportive and encouraging (and also realistic) through some of the more taxing moments of life. I shared my gratitude in a card and dropped it off with coffee and a muffin.
🌼 Mask Time: The pairing of the warming feel and smoothing nourishing properties of the Farmacy Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask followed by the cooling, firming and brightening effects of the Clarins Cryo-Flash Instant Lift Effect & Glow Boosting Face Mask 2.5 oz / 75 g . A little goes a long way so while it's a spendy combo, it's a spectacular splurge for the skin, and a satisfying self-care moment. 😍 These were two of the masks I mentioned for the 2025 Skincare Check-In Challenge: Week 2 - Favorte Face/Eye Masks.
🔖 Motivational Quote(s): I was going through some noteworthy quotes (BIC book club! ) from books I finished last year and these stood out as an affirmation as well as reminders to keep at it.
"Be the best version of yourself." ~ from The Women by Kristin Hannah
"We can, in fact, afford to slow down." ~ from Private Equity by Carrie Sun
"Take a moment for yourself ... Every day." ~ from Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
The last two are easier said than done for me, but worth the effort. Even if that effort involves baby steps, and restarting when I veer off course in both slowing it down and taking a moment for myself.
▶️ That leaves Arts-Crafts-Hobbies, Speak Kindly to (My)self, and Foot Care for this coming week. I've tentatively scheduled an arts activity, and some time for foot care this week and will try not to lose sight of speaking kindly to myself. 😉
📰 February BWell bingo card will be posted later this week. I'll include a link to that thread on the original post above, either late Thursday night or early Friday morning.
Nice job, @itsfi! You've been doing so great!
I'm impressed with your digital detox - you're making such great progress! Pretty much our entire lives are now digital, so it's definitely not an easy thing to break away from. I often think to myself, what did I even do before smartphones and Google?! I also remember thinking how cool it was if someone had a phone in their car 😂
Your warm-to-cold skincare combo
sounds amazing! Honey Potion is the best 🍯
Great quotes! Kristin Hannah books are always be recommended to me! I really need to read one of hers sometime!
Only three more boxes to go - you got this! 💪
Oh, the digital detox - the bane of my wellness efforts for so many years @Shosh85. To be fair, my own desire to not be far from my phone (because of FOMO or just because as you put it, so many things are on that phone!!) was a big hurdle to get over. Placing it out of sight and out of easy reach really helped - to show me how much it was like an extra appendage we didn't go over in biology or human anatomy class 🤣; heck, I may have put it to more use than some other parts of my body. lol Anyhow, it's still a work in progress (so much is, right?!) but now it's become an easier choice to set it in its charger on a shelf in the hallway where I can get to it if I need to but am not so easily distracted by it.
hahaha, I know. There were ways of doing things pre-smartphones/Google - sometimes hard to remember what they were, but there were (and still are) Thompson Maps to direct us how to get somewhere before Google maps and there were gas stations to stop at for directions when you veered off course. 😅
I'm trying to think of another mask with a cooling effect to follow the Farmacy honey mask. I mean, a sheet mask would do, but for a wash off, something like the Fresh Rose Mask would work as well (though my recollection is that it's not necessarily a favorite/must have or go to mask for either of us).
You did an absolutely fantastic job with your wellness month! I think everything here is amazing I think it’s so helpful to recognize that some squares require some more time and you did so well! I just want to say thank you as well for making such beautiful challenges and always being so kind, I truly value our interactions and looking forward to February’s board! Btw the art or hobby could be creating the lovely board for us and speaking kindly could be saying yes I did. You completed it all in my eyes woot BINGOOOOO, you are the best ❤️❤️ @itsfi
Awwww, that means a lot to me, thank you @peculiarzmakeup! You're always very thoughtful and so kind with your comments. Very much appreciated. I’m really happy that our wellness bingo has been a good fit for so many. Excited to keeping it up and hearing about everyone's wellness practice throughout the year - I have picked up so many amazing ideas and practices for self care, and the support and encouragment of folks, like you, has been truly wonderful. Thank YOU!! 🤗
Your comment and that meme together made me smile so big! Oh is that just the cutest bunny is that whinny the poo (I can’t spell) haha of course! Always! And I’m so excited to see what you have planned for February you are so thoughtful in putting this together and I love participating. I can’t believe it’s almost February but with another awesome wellness challenge I’m excited ❤️❤️ thank you for all you do 🤗 @itsfi love seeing everyone’s experiences it’s the best!
