Wow, what a year, Beauty Insider Community! I don’t know about you, but reflecting on 2023 makes me realize how many new beauty favorites I’ve discovered (some of those thanks to you!) and how many former favorites have now become current holy grails. There’s nothing like shopping your own stash…. but splurging on some brand-new beauty is pretty fun, too. 😉 I’m so grateful for all of you BIC-ers for sharing your favorites here for all of us to enjoy, all year long!
Here are the products I’ve been loving this December:
Now it’s your turn! Hit the reply button and tell us which products you’ve picked up the most this December… or even throughout all of 2023. Be sure to tag those products with the “#” symbol (hair, makeup, fragrance, wellness, skincare, etc.)!
Nope! Just a 1:8 ratio of any old coarsely ground brew and water, steep at least twelve hours and you're good to go, @CynthieLu!! This makes a concentrate that needs to be diluted more (which I forgot about this week and ooof, have not been sleeping super well). I like to go with a local roast, but anything coarsely ground should work.
Thank you for that! @haleyvvvv ooh yes it is heavily caffeinated stuff. I can't drink it in the afternoon or my sleep can be effected.
I like to dilute mine with oatmilk. So yummy!
I really want to make it home, I think that's marvelous!
December Faves - aka December Delights
Eggnog - By The Fireplace Hand Cream - While I love my FAB Ultra repair as my go-to hand cream before bedtime, this has been my stand in while I'm away. The scent is on par with the fragrance and it has a nice thickness to it with a lasting power.
Hot cocoa - CLINIQUE Pop Plush™ Creamy Lip Gloss Black Honey Pop It's a gloss, so it's sticky and not longlasting like a matte lip, but it gives my lips MLBB status with a 90s feel.
Candy cane - still loving Danessa Myricks Beauty Linework Paintbrush Fluid Liquid Eyeliner 0.034 oz / 1 ml . My previous one finally dried out, so I'm onto a new one and I know it'll last me a few months, just like the mintness of a candy cane - bold and consistent. And it's a brush tip, which I love!
Gingerbread -Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer 3-in-1 Triangle Tip Easy Precision Eyebrow Pencil Medium Brown - I still love my KVD pomade, but I don't have it with me. This still gets me to my brow destination. The brow is soft, but still defined and I like that it's got the triangle tip so that I can flip between drawing and filling.
@danielledanielle Adorable faves, as always! I love the original Black Honey, I need to try the gloss!
I’m all for a MLBB lipgloss and the 90s vibe is nostalgic @danielledanielle! Clinique Black Honey is one of those shades that I love seeing in different types of lip products at finishes (and Clinique certain doesn’t disappoint in that way).
Yes, I'm with you with Black Honey Everythang! I can't wait to layer this with the OG @itsfi
@danielledanielle Great December Delights!
Absolutely yummy favourites @danielledanielle ❄️
I have been on and off thinking about trying Danessa Myricks Beauty Linework Paintbrush Fluid Liquid Eyeliner 0.034 oz / 1 ml and your thoughts on it are definitely swaying me in its direction. 😉
I really do want to try it! @danielledanielle That is my life on BIC in a gif 😂
I only have a few new favorites this month, but I LOVE them.
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Advanced Retinol + Ferulic Triple Correction Eye Serum 0.5 oz/ 15 mL
I have a couple of samples of this. I really hope it's not wishful thinking, but it seems to help my smile lines at the outer corner of my eyes to relax right after application.
Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier Rich Repair Cream with 6-Butterlipid Complex 1.69 oz / 50 mL
I have a sample tub of this. I tried it for the first time last night. When I went to bed, my skin was dry, bumpy and I had red bumps. When I woke up it looked smooth, clear, and plump.
ELF Liquid Poreless Putty Primer. Confession: I can't stand primers. I have yet to meet one that isn't a pain to try to remove at night. It makes my foundation look too much like a mask. Until I tried this one. There's enough pink in it that it makes my favorite foundation turn from slightly sallow to perfection.
@Ispend2much6 Fewer, quality faves is the way to go sometimes!! I love that you found some solid favorites to take you into 2024!
@AlexBT You're so right- it's satisfying to find a few really good products. Especially ones that solve some long-standing problems!
@Ispend2much6, those are some great results you experienced with the new Drunk Elephant moisturizer
@itsfi I am soo happy with the DE- thanks!
@Ispend2much6 That DDG eye cream sounds amazing! I need to try it out!!
@ather I was highly skeptical, as I always am about products that are supposed to relieve wrinkles, but I think it did!
I've been trying to use more natural products so I've been loving
54 Thrones Body Butter Body Wash- I find this smells great and leaves my skin less dry.
54 Thrones Cloud Cream- I need this 2-3X for my hands and twice a day for the rest but this rolls back the clock on my aging skin and I don't have to wait long for results. Mine doesn't smell as great as the wash but the reults are amazing to me! Bye bye crepey onion skin!
Hanahana body butters- I can use this 2X a day and work it down to once a day after a week or two. I enjoy the lavender vanilla scented one so much. It smells great with YSL Libre Intense layered on. The butter itself is pretty intense so I use unscented with a bit of the lavender. The unscented is so silky and melts right away. I do wish Sephora would carry this brand.
Viori shampoo and conditioner bars- I can't recommend these enough. I was cleaning my drains once a week because my hair was falling out so badly and now have little hairfall. My hair appears fuller too. Everyone is different but these work for me. They do take a bit of getting used to. Tip: Don't try to lather your head vigorously like your body or you might get some serious tangles and hair fall. They smell super scented dry but I think they l leave my hair smelling lightly scented.
Saie liquid blush. Turns out I actually really like this and since using the blush to hand to brush method my cream and liquid blushes are so much less patchy. I will add the doe tip on this blush is big and keeps so much product on it. Not sure who has cheeks that big!
@Margalee Ooh I'm so curious about shampoo/conditioner bars, but I have yet to try. Do they lather up well?
@AlexBT The Viori bars lathered up pretty well. You have to give them a moment under the shower or water.
@Margalee, both those 54 Thrones products are wonderful. The body butter is in my project pan for the year; agree that the wash smells better.
