Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

lol @PrettyPaint I saw the photo and thought it was a bacon mask with a veggie name.  I'm not a huge kimchi fan myself but it sure sounds better than the bacon mask I was envisioning!  I'll have to keep an eye out for this one, it actually sounds quite lovely.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@missjeanie  Oh my goodness! Haha. Could you imagine a bacon mask? I think my entire face would break out if it contained bacon grease.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Some masks you want it to smell like the name and others not so much. Glad this one worked out so nicely @PrettyPaint!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica Totally true! πŸ™‚ I do wonder if there are any masks that actually have a savory food smell!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@PrettyPaint this one sounds awesome!! Glad it didn't smell like cabbage!! πŸ˜†

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster  I really liked it! πŸ™‚ And yes, I'm definitely glad it didn't smell like spicy cabbage. I definitely don't do well with gross smells.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@PrettyPaint  Hmm, I don't think I've seen this one before. The ingredients look solid to me, except for orange peel listed among the ferments... I wonder if my skin could still handle it, though. I might have to look for one of these to try! Bonus points for not smelling like kimchi. I mean, I like tasting kimchi but wouldn't want my face to smell like it. πŸ˜‚ I'm glad this mask worked well for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@WinglessOne  Thanks so much! Oh yikes, I didn't notice the orange peel in the ingredients. I know you definitely have some trouble with the citrus skincare. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like a sheet mask would be a very easy product to do a patch test with!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@PrettyPaint  To patch test a sheet mask, I usually apply some of the serum to one or two of my usual patch test areas and then put the opened sleeve (with mask still inside) in a zip-top plastic bag. If the serum passes the test within 1-2 hours, I'll use the sheet on my face. Ideally I'd wait 24-72 hours for results but I don't like leaving mask sleeves open that long, even if sealed in a plastic bagβ€”which is kinda funny, considering how much I do trust LuLuLun's resealable multi-sheet pouches. Anyway, it's easy to patch test a sheet mask, though the test is shorter than usual. )

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@WinglessOne  Oh, so you do test sheet masks? That's smart. I should probably start doing that because I'm afraid one of these days I'm going to have a disaster. I hadn't thought to wait just two hours or so, but I think I usually can tell if my skin is going to react to something pretty quickly.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Huh- this is an interesting one, @PrettyPaint. I'm glad to hear it worked out nicely for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Thanks @quspork. It’s definitely not an ingredient I have seen in masks before! πŸ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@PrettyPaint @Oh I think I have this one too and I’ve been thinking it looks weird haha - glad to hear it works well and had no strong scent !

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Kim888  I was a little hesitant at first too, but it’s really pretty normal once you apply it. πŸ™‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Hmmmmm this is a new one, @PrettyPaint and I have to agree, thank goodness it wasn’t authentically scented! Going to have to seek this one out, the brand is generally a good fit and even better results πŸ‘πŸΌ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe  It was a much nicer experience than is probably depicted on the packaging. There is also a kombucha one in this line!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I think both of them are going on my to-do list, @PrettyPaint. 2021 isn’t too far away, and I would like to go into it a little prepared. Always need a few unusual masks on hand:)

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@PrettyPaint  Yeah, I can't say the packaging is too attractive, but it definitely sounds like it turned out great! .... and I'm happy it didn't smell like fermented cabbage πŸ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85 Yup - I like to eat it, but I don't think I'd want it all over my face (especially in the morning)!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@PrettyPaint, this mask sounds amazing!!! πŸ˜ I love kimchi! πŸ’– Interestingly, I'm having kimchi for an afternoon snack right now!!! Nom, nom, nom πŸ˜‹

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Oh yum! That looks really good - and super good for you too!
