It’s May, Hurray! 🌸 We are almost 1/2-way through this year’s challenge🙌🏼

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks💗 Post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcome.

This Week’s Theme: “Favorite Mask in Your Regular Routine” - the lovely @itsfi would like to know - which mask do you buy in bulk, to always have on hand?

Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I guess I’ve been secretly planning to restock my fresh, @lmaster and this just solved that problem for me😊 Thank you for the feedback, I am not on here as much anymore but I noticed yesterday it just needed a fresh update. I am soooooooo ready for winter. It is currently 117 🥵

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Wow!! @eshoe the older I'm getting the more I'm appreciating the cooler temps! It's been between 75-80 this week

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

That sounds just about perfect @lmaster!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I must admit @eshoe it really is!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

J is for Juice Time

Peripera Juice Time Grape Sheet Mask

This is a very thin and transparent cotton sheet mask, that was saturated with a slimy gel-like serum. It had a very light and refreshing grape scent, that to me smelled like grape soda, but wasn't very noticeable once it was on. It was a little large at the chin, but otherwise a perfect fit. It adhered very well and had a nice cool feel while it was on. I kept it on for about 40 minutes. When I removed it, my face had a refreshed/more awake kind of feel. There was still a good amount of serum on my face, that was maybe just slightly tacky. It all absorbed pretty quickly and my skin was left feeling very soft and smooth. My face felt nicely moisturized and it was very long lasting.

I've enjoyed all of the masks from this, but would have to say this is my favorite and I would definitely repurchase! 🍇

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Sounds great @Shosh85. Those 40 minute wear times are so nice for some masks. Getting all the goodness to absorb. 😊

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@ShortErica  Yeah, I definitely appreciate a longer wear time when it smells delicious too 😉😋

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Shosh85 it would be so great if they came out with another line similar to this, the scents are so good!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  I really wish the Peripera masks weren't being discontinued! I love their Juice Time and Smoothie Time lines and I will definitely continue to repurchase masks from both lines as long as they're still available!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Shosh85, these peripera juice masks sound amazing!!! I have a huge note on my packet of this mask that reads “a Shosh favorite 💜” and I’ve been saving it up. It’ll be one of my sheet mask that I’ll use after I finish up my pre-2020 sheet mask purchases, which seems to have an end in sight.

I know I’ve asked you this before so sorry for the repeat question and I *think* I know, but do you prefer the juice series from Peripera sheet masks or their smoothie line? (Yes, a variation of the what’s your favorite mask I’m known for asking!) 😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@itsfi  I am SO sad these are being discontinued! I really wish these darn companies would stop discontinuing all my favorites! 😢😕

I love both lines of masks, but the smoothie line is definitely my most favorite! 😋

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Me too @Shosh85!!! I feel like starting a writing campaign, sending emails / letters to brands of well loved / favorite sheet masks to let them know how much the sheet mask is looooooved and to implore them to never ever discontinue it. 😆 I’m only partially joking about this. 😂 I’ve had too many sheet masks I absolutely adore go poof! Never to be heard from again. And without any warning so I could stock up and share with you and others that they are being DQ’ed so you can stock up as well. It all seems so wrong. 🥺

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Mmmmmm love love grape!! @Shosh85

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@lmaster  Me too! Such a delicious scent! 🍇😋

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Shosh85  Sounds like an awesome mask! Is this line of masks discontinued?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@ather  Yes, unfortunately it seems they are discontinued! I'm so sad, because Peripera makes some of my most favorite masks! 😢

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

This week’s 3-step mask from Missha, thanks to the recent motm 📦

My skin has been so disagreeable this week. I’ve had a few blemishes along my jawbone and dots haven’t been helping, so I was hoping some exfoliating would help. This was the second (or third?) time I’ve tried the Youth To The People Yerba Mate Resurfacing + Exfoliating Energy Facial with Enzymes + Niacinamide 2...., and I still don’t have any strong feelings about it one way or another. Lots of tiny granules, so I was extra careful when rinsing off.

This Missha 3-Step Nutrition Mask starts with Essence, which I’ve come to appreciate more as I’ve made it part of my skincare routine. It seemed superfluous at first, but that’s how I felt about serum a few years ago, too🤷🏻‍♀️ I think as a first step, it’s a great choice. This essence felt more like a rich serum, with a clean laundry-type scent. Step two, the mask, was a thicker, soft and stretchy fabric that felt lovely but fell away from my face to the point that I removed it after about 15 minutes of struggling. My skin felt quite soft and hydrated. Since step three was the hydrating cream, I went through my final steps and then applied it last. It was pleasant enough, no irritation so that was a plus. It’s not a mask I would repurchase, but I loved having the opportunity to try it, so a very big thank you and hug to the person who included it in the box, it was greatly appreciated!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe that's what I love about motm, getting to try new ones out 😊

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Me too, @lmaster. It’s all about the adventure, doesn’t matter if they are good or bad☺️

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  Too bad you don’t have thoughts on the YTTP I’ve been debating it for a bit. I might have to see if I have a sample. I totally agree with you about serums. A few years ago I didn’t use them but now I can’t get enough!!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@atherI guess as much as I love physical exfoliatants, I realize they are not a good match for my normal/dry skin. I love them, but tend to overuse them as a result. The granules in this one are small, but noticeably rough. If your skin can handle it, this might be a brilliant fit for you. It’s fun to use and I love the brand overall; the Youth To The People Superfood Air-Whip Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid 2 oz/ 60 mL is my all-time favorite daytime moisturizer.
