I totally understand @missjeanie ! The spring sale at Sephora is coming soon! YAY!
@itsfi knew that I enjoyed using products with snail mucin @ShortErica so last summer she sent me the different products containing snail mucin in her Unicorn Mail ! It was a great surprise, I had no idea that she would send me so many wonderful and useful products!
I am always amazed by the memories and kindness of everyone on BIC @keana1 - love that you got so many good products to help in times like this when your face needs a boost.
The BIC is a great area to meet the best people, everyone is so nice and helpful @ShortErica!
@keana1 I thought the LaRoche Posay Gel stopped the burning? Love all these snail products – they sound so great! 👍😃
The LRP did stop the burning but I wanted my skin to heal faster so the products that contain a high concentration of snail mucin help the healing process @Shosh85 .
Thursday I applied a thin coat of the PTR Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask before doing my groceries. After I returned I rinsed it off with cold water because my skin started to burn. When I tried this mask before and my skin didn’t have that burning sensation. I checked the ingredients list and I think that I found the culprit: Kappaphycus Alvarezii extract ( algae ). I use products that have the same ingredients but the only one that was different was the KA ( algae ) extract. I thought it might be the Blue 1 dye but this dye is found in the PTR Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches and the Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream and I never reacted to this dye. To relieve the burning sensation I applied the LaRoche Posay Cicaplast Gel B5 on my face and the burning stopped. I’m so glad that that I bought this gel, its a skin savior! Grade for the PTR Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask : F ( in my case, it might be different if you don’t react the way I did )
Oh nooooo!! I'm so glad you had the LRP Cicaplast @keana1! My skin can react badly to things like seaweed, sea kelp, algae, etc. It's hard for me to know until I try it; some masks with those ingredients work fine for me, others have me running as fast as I can to get the mask off. I'm so sorry you had a reaction to the algae mask.
I’ll always have a tube of the Cicaplast gel available @itsfi! I certainly wasn’t expecting this mask to burn but my skin is 100% back to normal! Thanks again for the Elensilia cream and the Mizon Snail ampoule + cream ! What would I do without you and your great choices in your Unicorn Mail x 2 ! 🤗
It came in a kit containing small size PTR masks @lmaster , it’s OOS here but I don’t know if it’s OOS in the USA also! You might not have the same reaction that I did. Starting now, I’ll do a patch test before using a new product and another one before using the same product again to make sure that I won’t have an allergic reaction or another type of reaction!
@keana1 Thank heavens you had the Laroch Posay on hand!
That does not sound like a pleasant reaction @keana1. Did you not feel the burning until after wearing it a while? I assume you aren't willing to try it again. I'm curious what happened since you tried the mask before and it didn't burn. Not worth the risk though. Good on the LaRoche Posay for helping your face!
It started to burn after having it on for about 15 minutes @ShortErica , so when I arrived home the first thing I did was to rinse it off with cold water. This mask can be used as a rinse off mask or it can be left on overnight. I’m never going to use it again! 🚫
@keana1 Yikes! You think algae is what caused the burning? Do you have a sensitivity to algae? I'm so sorry you had that reaction! – it's strange that you used it before without a reaction. 🤔 I think I might have that same little PTR tube – I'm super curious to try it out now – but maybe I'll do a patch test first. 😉 I'm so happy to hear the gel stopped the burning! Sounds like LaRoche Posay makes some great products! 👍
Yes @Shosh85 , I’ve used other skincare products that contained the other ingredients and had no problems but this algae is the only ingredient that could have caused this reaction. Usually you find out that you have an allergy when you’re exposed a 2nd time to an ingredient and this time it was my 2nd exposure! You should definitely do a patch test before trying it again.
It’s sample week and I’m going to miss most of it?!!!! Ahhhhh!!! I just decluttered most of my samples and kept the ones that interested me most. Tonight I am trying the Lancôme vissionaire nuit beauty sleep perfector. It just feels like a light moisturizer mixed half parts with an oil. It’s just sat on my skin for the first twnty minutes bit agter that it started absorbing somewhat, which isn’t really a bad thing for a night treatment. I can’t place the scent and it’s really bothering me. It reminds me of one of the Too Cool For School hand creams I used to have but no idea what the scent is. It’s definitley artificial and almost grandmotherly. That’s the best I can do.
I didn't even know Lancome had this product until now @heartsmyface! Don't you worry about missing part of sample week - you just focus on yourself and your recovery. We'll come up with a way for samples to fit perfectly with whatever the week's theme is when you are back. More hugs coming your way heartsmyface!!
I'm sure you'll still get some sample love in after this week @heartsmyface ! Thinking of you!!
