Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐Ÿ’—

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Skunk12puzzola  Thanks.  Itโ€™s History of Whoo lip gloss in #15  Itโ€™s very hydrating so I do use it as a balm.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Hydrating hero clarins Soso mask and L is for Lassieโ€™el

Spoiler
The Clarins SOS mask is a creamy nourishing mask. The initial scent was sort of hotel room lotion-y but not in a bad way. As I wore it I think I got some whiffs of mango. This was super hydrating and nourishing and comforting to wear and my skin felt great after . I totally recommend and will likely pick up a full size after I use up some other stuff.

I also used lassieโ€™el be shinee mask. this was a very soft cotton mask with milky serum which is my fave kind of sheet mask. There was no super strong scent and fit was decent. It was super saturated even after 20 minutes.

I did find it very hydrating but it was extremely tacky after use and never fully absorbed. In fact, it left dried down white serum streaks even though I had rubbed it in. Tacky masks are one of my biggest peeves so I will not be using it again.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888

I read the "be shineeee" name and my oily face was like "no more shineeee!" LOL. Too bad it was tacky.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888 oh my gosh I've never had a mask that left white streaks!! I can't stand a super tacky mask either

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Oh my, @Kim888, this sounds a littleโ€ฆdreadful๐Ÿ˜ณ I had such a positive experience with this one, so sorry to hear it wasnโ€™t the same for you. I hope that your skin was back to normal the next day!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888  I agree, no tacky feeling after using the mask.  This can last all day.  So I may not look for this one .  Clarins make some wonderful products.  Good to hear about this one.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888, hmmmโ€ฆI can handle a little tack but Iโ€™m with you, an extremely tacky mask can be off putting. ๐Ÿ˜

I know you are working your way through your other masks, but that Clarins mask (and the other two wash offs in that collection) are currently on sale at TJ Maxx online.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi @Oh thanks for the heads up!!! Those are really good deals !

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888, Clarins went through a rebranding last year, including a slight redesign of their logo. The ones at TJ Maxx have the old logo so it seems like the brand may be looking to clear out its stock of the old design so it can release the new packaging. I like the masks in this line and considered picking up the masks - that price is hard to beat. Tagging @eshoe as I know she used and liked one of the Clarins masks in the past.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888  That packaging and that name already has me wanting to try that mask.  Ugh streaks and  extreme tackiness thoughโ€ฆ but shineeeeeโ€ฆ. Ah what to do?   Were the streaks pearlescent?

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@heartsmyface @Not really - it sort of just looked like I did a bad job rubbing some white primer in haha but I had rubbed it in!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I didn't have to be at work early this morning and since I had a little extra time I decided to do a little multi-masking so I used a hair mask as well as the Leahlani Mermaid mask (which was kindly gifted to me from @eshoe).

The Mermaid mask has an interesting consistency; it comes in a little pot and it almost looks like a firmly pressed blackish powder but the directions instruct that you mix about a teaspoon of it (which isn't quite so powder-like underneath the top layer) with a few drops of water into your palms and mix with your fingers before applying.

20220405_082957.jpg20220405_083042.jpg

It definitely has a greenish hue to it once mixed and it has an interesting--but surprisingly pleasant--scent to it, like kale or seaweed mixed with orange or lemon.  I know, it sounds strange, but it has a very green/citrus smell that's unexpectedly lovely.  The texture is just slightly gritty and therefore provides a light amount of exfoliation which was great because I haven't actually used a physical exfoliant for several days and I normally use one at least a couple of times every week.  Despite the fact that I look like some kind of swamp creature while wearing it, I actually really enjoyed it and although the little pot is small I will definitely be able to get quite a few more uses out of it before finishing it.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@CookieGirl1  I donโ€™t see a swamp creature!!  But the color is different ๐Ÿ’š.   A enjoy a citrus scent.  Itโ€™s a clean scent.  Itโ€™s a different mask in that you mix it yourself before applying.  Good to know your results were pleasing!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@CookieGirl1  I just bought this on the spot, one, cause looking like a swamp monster is fun and two, cause I am immediately changing the name on the packaging to LeahLand when it arrives:)

The scent sounds fabulous as well!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@heartsmyface I'm counting on you to post your own Swamp Thing pics ๐Ÿ˜….

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

A big yes to the name change @heartsmyface! Love it!

The scent and ingredients on this one make me think of a smoothie. @CookieGirl1

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi @heartsmyface YES!  It smells like a tropical smoothie with a little spinach thrown in!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@CookieGirl1 Looks like such a fun mask ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@CookieGirl1 well this looks about right! Your description of the scent is incredibly helpful. It reminds me of Fruit Loops. This is one I ration because it is so pleasant to use, despite being a *little* tricky to apply. Thank you for sharingโ˜บ๏ธ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Sounds lovely!! @CookieGirl1

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

A bit of a belated post, I meant to post this about a week ago for the "Multi-Step Masks" week theme. Unfortunately, I never got around to it due to some heavy real life stuff. Last week was probably one of the roughest weeks of my life losing one of my pet rats (which I wrote about in the Pet Paradise thread) and also receiving terrible news about the sudden and tragic death of a good friend of mine. I totally shut down and I apologize for bumming everyone out now mentioning all this sad stuff in our collective happy place. I thought about not mentioning this at all but I feel compelled to because I feel like I need to share a very important message: if you are currently in a DV situation, please do your absolute best to get out of it safely and please reach out to your loved ones for help. No relationship is ever worth losing your life over. Love is beautiful and kind, love is never violent. I'm trying to really get back to being myself, participating in this thread and the community in general because it's truly something that brings me a lot of joy and to be honest... I really need a distraction right now. Once again, I'm sorry, I know that this might not be "the place" for conversations like this but I felt like I needed to say something in the hope that it can potentially help somebody who is suffering silently.

On a brighter note... (I don't really know how to smoothly transition from that, I'm sorry) here's some masks I did a little over a week ago when I had my last spa day.

March: I-M, Multi-Step Masks

Step 1: Eminence Snow Mushroom & Reishi Masque

IMG-3543.jpg

My Thoughts:

Spoiler
I put this on as my first step. This is a wonderful mask without much scent. It's best described as a creamy-clay texture. I mix a touch of water with it and smooth it around my face then wash off after about 30-45 minutes. I love this mask and have used it for the last year or so. It is quite pricey but it's probably the only mask that I'll shell out ~$80 for without second thought. It goes on pretty much "clear", you can't tell you're wearing a mask at all. No mess, no fuss. Truly, this is my least messy mask (sheet masks included). This leaves skin so silky smooth, radiant and beautiful. I sometimes keep it on for wayyyy too long because I just love how it feels on the face. It's great for sensitive skin, it's non-irritating and feels like a cloud on the face. Whenever I'm having skin troubles, I reach for this because it's so gentle on the face. I also love it because it's pretty much fragrance-free, I can't really pick up any scent off of this and I like to think I have quite a keen nose. I truly cannot recommend this mask enough. 6 out of 5 stars.

Step 2: The Creme Shop-Be Magical, Skin!

IMG-3550.jpg

My Thoughts:

Spoiler
I've been a huge fan of The Creme Shop masks and I find it hard to resist picking up new ones whenever I see them. This one caught my eye because of the fun unicorn print, lol. I put this on after rinsing off my Eminence mask. This is a nice thick cotton sheet mask as per usual with TCS masks. My first thoughts on this: holy fruity goodness! This mask smells extremely fruity which makes sense since it promotes having three fruits within it. I think it smelled the most like blueberries mixed with pineapple to me. This is a heavily saturated mask (also per usual with TCS masks) and I had a ton left over for my neck/dรฉcolletรฉ area. The fit is quite good although I wish it was a touch bigger on the cheek area and a bit smaller on the jaw area. I kept this on for about 20-25 minutes until the mask started to lose a considerable amount of it's saturation. Leaves the skin refreshed, plump and hydrated. I really enjoyed this mask but I do have ones I like a bit more from TCS so I'll likely not be picking up this one for a little while.

Step 3: Deborah Lippmann Marshmallow Mousse Exfoliant Hand & Cuticle Scrub

IMG-3541.jpg

My Thoughts:

Spoiler
I've been using the Deborah Lippmann Marshmallow Whipped Hand & Cuticle Scrub for well over 5+ years now and I absolute adore it. As you can see from the photograph, the packaging is super resistant. My clumsy butt dropped this so many times and even though there's visible cracks on the outside, there's no damage to the product that's encased inside. This is a very thick container, which for my clumsy butt is a huge plus. I've broken so many products over the years yet this one seems to be refusing to crack no matter what I do to it. The name is spot on: this smells exactly like marshmallow. This is a gentle yet highly exfoliating scrub, which I love. Plus it's filled with amazing ingredients like AHA & BHA. I like using this first as a scrub, getting it all over my hands and really "getting in there" for about a minute or so. Then, I do something unconventional (which is definitely not necessary, you could just rinse it off after the scrubbing is over), I like keep this one my hands by putting on some white gloves and letting it sit on my hands for another 5-15 minutes. Then, I finally rinse it off. My hands smell delicious after using this. I also feel that this revives my nails and after I rinse it off my hands are baby soft. I cannot recommend this enough for people that want some quality hand care that goes a step above just using a moisturizing lotion.

Step 4: Too Faced Hangover RX Pillow Balm Lip Treatment

IMG-3547.jpg

My Thoughts:

Spoiler
The new Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm is one of my new discoveries that I literally cannot imagine living without. As you can see in the photo, I was wearing my white gloves over my Deborah Lippmann Marshmallow Exfoliant (step 3) lol. I much prefer this to the Agave Bite Treatment and the Laneige Sleeping Mask (although I do enjoy those as well) because I genuinely can feel this on my lips even the next morning (not in a bad way). It's got a bit of a minty, plumping effect on the lips (not at all painful). To me, personally, this is the perfect texture. It's thicker than the Laneige Mask but definitely not as thick and heavy as the Bite Beauty Agave Mask. I agree with the name of this because it gives your lips a "pillow" effect. I always feel like this is so moisturizing and luxurious. So far I've only tried the original version and the mango and both are great. The Original has no color and glides on like a clear balm but the mango does have a bit of a shimmer and a light peachy-nude color effect although it's quite sheer a bit of color is there. Also, oddly this tastes good if it accidentally get it's your mouth which is a plus to me because I really do not enjoy the taste of the Agave Bite Beauty or the semi-oily texture of laneige. Due to the applicator on this, its much easier to apply and also to avoid accidentally getting some on your mouth. This has become one of my go-to products within the last two months or so. Whenever I use this I wake up with soft, hydrated and supple lips everytime. Highly recommend checking this out if you're a big lip product fan.
