With six shades available as samples this month we realize it’s possible that the shade you receive might not be a perfect fit, but we encourage you to give it a try and then visit your local Sephora or Sephora Inside JCPenney to get color matched with a different shade if you’d like!

I think they do their best with what the brands give them in regards to the color match. Sephora are not the ones "making" the samples after all they are just curating the boxes. Everyone seems to have this issue no matter what skintone they have from the fairest fair to your rich dark, I wouldn't term the lack of a color match a microaggression because you are not being singled out due to being at the one end of the color spectrum. And if you are really bothered by it there are several subs that are geared towards women of color, Cocotique, Essence Beauty Box, & Onyx to name a few.

I still receive colors that don't match me either, but have the opposite problem ( they are too dark). I wish Sephora would not send foundation samples in their boxes.

I agree.  I'm super-pale and I almost wish that we wouldn't get foundation/concealer samples but I know that a lot of people do really like receiving them.

I can't imagine how frustrating it is - just pointing out what sephora said it would be 8 shades and they did say in the video if it isn't a match you can always go to the store and get a different shade to try!
