Thank you, @missjeanie!! Excited to see your collection!! I think, in some categories I'm doing really really well. I think in general (not counting scrubs) my skincare numbers consistently go down each year (I guess scrubs do go down it's just hard to see as much progress) and while I might have more in some categories than I want, I have much less than 3 years ago. And using stuff up lets me actually try newer stuff before it's out of the market. For makeup, I've done some decluttering over the years, but mostly my collection has remained overly large. I don't mind in some cases, but a lot of complexion stuff I bought/received when I lived in multiple different cities or when I was starting to get more in and maybe the weather and preferences are different now. And I need to be better about not buying stuff just because it's on sale. I've really tamped that down in the past few years and stopped getting sub boxes, so I do feel better but I wish I maybe didn't have as much I feel like I need to get through? But I like these types of challenges for critically thinking about my collection and seeing the usages and sizes over the years.

It's a balance, focusing on the things in front of you, on your self-care, being present, checking on others, and the balance changes, but you're absolutely right @missjeanie - it becomes more natural and instinctive as you do it more. I'm tagging @blackkitty2014 for book recs; 2024 was the year of reading, a lot of leisure reading and 2025 was the year of not doing much reading, but what I did read, or actually, what I finally got around to finishing after many years was great but it was not light reading at all. I will say I would push down the list "The Exchange" by John Grisham - it's a sequel to The Firm but ... yeah, just push it down that list or avoid. BIC Book Club!!! has some recs for books.

It feels like the majority of Sephora samples are foundation or concealer samples, but they are not shade inclusive AT ALL. 3 out of the 4 will be varying shades of light to medium, and then a dark shade, but nothing in between. It seems like Sephora should make more universally usable samples like skincare, hair care, perfumes or even make up that’s NOT as shade dependent like lip products, blush and eye makeup. I’m so tired of not being able to choose samples I’m actually excited about receiving and using. It’s 2026 and diversity and shade inclusion is still being completely ignored.
